Story
Animal Profile: Yogi is an adorable terrier mix, estimated to be around 6-7 years old and weighs about 26 lbs (but he is on a weight loss journey to get to his ideal weight of around 20 lbs). He was originally rescued from Texas at the age of ~2, and recently re-joined our rescue when his family could no longer care for him. Foster Updated: Meet Yogi! This sweet boy quickly captures your heart with his soulful eyes. He has been getting settled into his foster home and doing well. Yogi enjoys the companionship of other dogs, even pups larger than him. Yogi isn't overly interested in engaging in play, but he doesn't mind sharing his space with other calm pups. That being said, he also wouldn't mind being the only dog in the home and soaking up all the attention. He bonds hard to his people and gets excited to be around his humans! He also loves sniffing around and exploring outdoors, though his mobility does keep him at a slower pace. We are continuing to work with Yogi to get him a little more confident on leash and in the outside world. He can be a bit anxious, and would thrive in a calm household. One of Yogi's challenges have been his mobility, and he doesn't currently use stairs. This is partly due to his front legs being a bit bowed, something he was born with, and having some joint deterioration. However, a healthy diet and daily joint supplements have significantly helped Yogi get more comfortable and feeling much better. Yogi would thrive in a home where he didn't have to utilize stairs to get around, and does best with carpet or other floor coverings that aren't too slippery. While jumping onto surfaces or hopping up stairs just isn't in his wheelhouse at this time, Yogi loves a cozy dog bed and will gladly curl up by your side.
