Story
Have you ever made a bad first impression?? Did you wish someone would give you a second ( or 3rd) chance to make a better first impression?? Well, meet Muppie who is the cutest little 27 lb critter you’ve ever met & he makes the worst first impression.  Muppie is 6 years old & lived with an elderly owner who passed away. The family could not keep him & took him to a high kill shelter.  Muppie is a sweetie once you get to know him. He is great on a leash, is great with dogs & cats but the first few times you try to put him in a crate he shows his a**.  It’s all a big show but his first impression definitely does not show his best side!  Muppie needs a forever home who is willing to take the time to get to know him & gain his trust. Once that happens you will have the best little friend you could wish for!!  Willing to be patient?? Apply to adopt Muppie!! Your patience will be worth it!! All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   December 18, 2024, 10:31 pm

Story
7/9/2024 Update: Junior has come a long way with his barking. He loves to play, get belly rubs and cuddles. He does better in his crate when the fosters are not home and when he is eating. His reactions to everything is excitement. He just wants to be loved. He would be a great companion to someone who enjoys just being around a fun loving, high energy, love bug, long walks, semi-long jogs, or just working on agility in the backyard. A good play mate would be a dog of equal temperament one that loves everything and just enjoys life. Junior comes from Ky as owner surrender due to owner having cancer. He is 2-3 years old and is approximately 12 lbs. His is a nice pup who likes to bark (just being honest here!). He barks at mostly men and strangers. He does great with his female foster and loves playing with the other dogs. He is crated when his fosters are gone and when eating due to another dog in the house being food aggressive. He does not really like being crated and will bark once he is done eating if someone is home; the fosters have cams in the house, so they know he does not bark when they are gone unless someone comes to the door, or they hear a loud noise. The barking is more than most which is why we say he likes to bark (hear himself talk). He loves to play fetch; enjoys the agility course the foster has set up for them in the summer. He is very curious and WILL REQUIRE A PHYSICAL FENCE. He gets a little needy from time to time wanting your attention. Freds Mission Rescue has an adoption radius of 100 miles from Cincinnati. All dogs are fully vetted, altered, current on flea/tick/heartworm/wormer, and microchipped. The rescue does not adopt out to properties with invisible fences or tie outs.
