Story
Meet Sofie and Scrappie, a "bonded pair" of dogs adopted from North Ocean County Animal facility and recently returned when their owner was no longer able to care for them due to his medical condition. They have been taken in by NorthStar & are now in a loving foster home, looking for a new place to land. Sofie is a 10-year-old adorable, chubby Chihuahua mix and Scrappie is a 13-year-old Cairn Terrier mix with a personality of his own. Both dogs are friendly, enjoy being petted and will seek attention. They love to hangout. If the weather is nice, they love to be outside hanging out on the deck. Otherwise, they are couch potatoes. They LOVE being with people & will always nuzzle up to you on the couch or find their way onto your lap. They are both lap dogs & I can never sit on the couch without both of them on each side of me. Both dogs love people & visitors to the house. They are good with the young family members (ages 2, 3, & 5 years of age) who visit frequently. They do love their toys & will entertain themself. They have been around other dogs and cats in the past and currently live with two other dogs and a cat with no issues. Both dogs are very easy-going and enjoy hanging out with the group. Both dogs are also good on leash, easy to handle and would make a great addition to any home.  Scrappie, although he's older than Sofie, is more playful than she is - still lots of pep in this boy's step! They both know some basic commands like Sit, Come, Stay, Down & Shake. Scrappie was not a fan of all the rain we recently had - you can see a photo where he is hiding under a pink blanket because he did NOT want to go out in that wet weather! We feel that they would make good pets for just about any home. They will only be adopted into a home together as they have lived together for many years & are dependent on each other. If you feel like you would like to bring Scrappie and Sofie into your home, please fill out an adoption application at www.northstarpets.org and ask for them by name, SCRAPPIE & SOFIE NJ - BONDED PAIR.September 20, 2024, 12:58 pm

Story
Dixie is a very friendly, playful, affectionate, healthy, energetic, happy dog. She loves people and playing with other dogs. She would make a great dog for anyone except for very young children because she may knock them over, or very old for the same reason. She is a solid 42 pounds. She crates well if needed and is also doing well on house breaking. strayheartsrescue@outlook.com https://forms.gle/suhbpui9RXiVmvoJ9

Story
This guy is so adorable!!! He has the most adorable little scruffy face and an even more beautiful personality! He's super submissive with other dogs and loves to play with them. He's cat friendly and wonderfully gentle with children. He's actually being fostered in a home with two very young little boys. He's super tolerant, gentle. Kennel trained and walks nicely on leash. Loves to explore buts like a teddy bear, very low energy. He's in a foster home in Memphis, Tn. Once adopted , he will travel on Rescue Vet Transport to his new forever family. They travel each and every weekend to the north east, leaving Memphis, Tennessee, Friday morning approximately 6 AM, setting up a group chat with all adopters and the two drivers and heading straight north east making stops along the way as far north as west Greenwich, Rhode Island. Transport is an additional $185. If you would like to make this little honky fellow a part of your family, please follow the link below to our adoption application. Please refrain from submitting an application until you're ready to welcome your new forever friend. You will find our volunteer team to be very responsive! https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9

Story
They say not all superheroes wear capes, and that is certainly true about this brave and wonderful boy, Deacon. Meet Deacon, the tiny guy who has overcome so much and is making strides as he adjusts to life in the safety and comfort of Home for Good. Deacon had a rough start and it made him apprehensive to everything around him. But after endless patience, love, and care from the good humans around him, Deacon is flourishing. Deacon came to us as a stray found in Aiken, South Carolina. He is 1 year old and fully grown at 22 pounds. Deacon is starting to really enjoy the company of other dogs and humans and has found that he quite loves to be pet by his friends. Where before he would shy away, he now approaches his human companions for affection and love. And boy, have we enjoyed giving him endless cuddles and positive affirmations. He is learning that he truly is a good boy, and we are happy to remind him each day. Deacon would do best in a home with calm dogs and cats, and older kids who give him space as he continues to grow confident in his surroundings. He is starting to enjoy walks on a leash and learning each day the simple pleasures of sniffing and exploring while he goes on walks. Deacon is a sweetheart who is eager to be loved, and he deserves it so very much. He hopes you will consider giving him the beautiful life he deserves. Deacon is neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped. **Please note: completing an "adoption inquiry" via Adopt-a-pet/Petfinder does not constitute an HFG Dog Rescue adoption application.
