Story
Louie is my mother's dog, a 19-lb Cairn terrier, approx 7-yrs old . He recently moved up north from FL this spring with her. My father passed last winter, and we moved mom to be near us. My mother has diagnosed Alzheimer's, and now is in an assisted living apartment that allows pets, as long as the tenant can care for them. Mom has been showing decreased reliability in feeding and taking Louie out properly over the past nine months, and staff at the facility have indicated that Louie will need to be re-homed soon (early January 2025). We have all tried everything we can think of to keep them together. Louie is a good sweet boy, and loyal, but he can be overly protective of his owner, which can manifest with growling/snarling if his owner's space is encroached upon unexpectedly. He should likely not be homed with other small pets/young children. He is a cuddler, & loves walks and naps, and is a great guard dog. We just want to find him a loving home.

Story
Welcome Boscoe to CCPAL Rescue. Boscoe is a 2-year-old Cairn Terrier mix with maybe Schnauzer. He is a lower energy and a little shy. His teeth are white and clean as his adult teeth haven’t been in too long. He is good on a leash and bigger than the other two at 15 pounds. He has nice long legs so he would be a great walking companion. He is very content being beside someone and doesn’t have to be in your lap. He came from a homeless person that had about 6 dogs. The homeless person had rescued all as strays. A good Samaritan stepped up to help and called CCPAL Rescue. CCPAL took in all the homeless person’s dogs except one she wanted to keep. We will be vaccinating them and spaying them to get them ready for their forever home. This boy is not a shedding dog and is very very affectionate. He would probably look Schnauzer if he had the cut. His coat is a little course and not as soft as the schnauzer coat. He would be fine around kids but I think her best home would be with a home that someone wants a lap dog and a quieter home. He would be a great one or two person dog. He will be great company and will not require too much exercise. A small condo type yard would work for him. He is good in a crate and with other dogs. He is more vocal than his sister Merry. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transportation fee is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpalrescue.org See his cute video!!

Story
Meet Raisin! This adorable little guy has a scruffy coat, a charming face, and a heart ready for love! Raisin is about 1 year old, weighs 12 pounds, and seems to be a Cairn Terrier mix. He was found as a stray and kept safe by a kind person while they searched for his owners, but now Raisin is ready to find his forever home.Raisin is super sweet but understandably a bit nervous after all he’s been through. He’s great with other dogs and depends on their companionship for confidence. With time and patience, he’s already made strides in trusting humans—he now feels comfortable climbing a ramp to sleep in bed with his foster and even wakes them when he needs to go potty!Raisin is looking for a loving home where he can feel safe and continue to blossom. Could you be the one to show him how wonderful life can be?IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.December 15, 2024, 6:04 am
