Story
This darling little 17 pound 2 year old girl is called Happy Heidi and she has a little mixture of what we call…..”adorable” genetics.  Maybe a little Jack Russell and a little Cairn Terrier?   Whatever it is we know that you will be delighted to bring this girl home to your family life any way you look at it.  She is good with other dogs, no matter how big and we have not seen her with cats.  She is working on her housebreaking and crate training.   She is not a dog for an apartment as she will bark if left in a crate for hours on end.  She is a busy girl that loves to be outside running her foster home’s fenced yard.  She is a cuddler and loving girl that will be someone’s shadow and adoring companion.  She is pretty good on a leash but could use some polishing.    She was found as a stray and would love to have someone home more than away for a 9 hour work day.  This little girl is pure gold and a joy to have around.  If you are interested in adopting or knowing more, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comFebruary 25, 2025, 2:00 pm

Story
sweet scruffy boy ISO love! IGGY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Iggy        Best Guess for Breed: Cairn terrier mix   Best Guess for Age:   5 years as of February 2025    SEX:    Male   Approximate Weight:  24 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids or cats but he can be tested if you have them.   Currently Living at:  Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here after completing heartworm treatment.    Special adoption considerations: Iggy is a truly Lucky Dog. Although he has tested positive for heartworms, treatment has been scheduled! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment.  We are happy to talk more in depth about heartworm disease and treatment during the screening process.    Additionally, Iggy is from Puerto Rico. Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Iggy would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure she can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.   Iggy is Looking For:     Woof! I'm a sato - a street dog from Puerto Rico. I'd like to say I *was* a sato - I would like to be known as a beloved family dog. I'm seeking my own humans for long sniffy walks - the smells in the DC area are going to be so different! - romps in parks - and all the adventures they can dream up.Most of all, I want to know I'm safe and loved and where I belong. To bestow upon my new family adoring gazes, happy tail wags, and loyal companionship. What do you say? Can you see me by your side? What My Foster Says About Me:  We will update this once he has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with his foster   Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Story
This little cutie will warm your heart! Bella has never met a lap she didn’t like and is the perfect-sized lap dog at 14lbs. Bella is 6 years old, house-trained, and crate-trained. While Bella is currently living with two canine foster siblings (one smaller, one bigger) she would probably prefer to be the sole dog lapping up her human(s) attention. Bella thrives with people. She loves every person she meets and wants to spend all her time with them. She will do a little dance when she gets excited, when her people come home, or when dinner is ready. She is adorably cute and a great companion. My Profile Age: 6 Weight: 14 Good with kids: Unknown Good with dogs: Some Good with cats: Unknown Fenced yard: No Suitable for townhouse and/or apartment: Yes House trained: Yes. Please consult our Adoption FAQ before contacting us. Please check the adoption-show-attendees page to see if Bella will be attending the next adoption show. NOTE: We are an all volunteer group and do not operate a shelter. All of our animals are in foster homes. We are unable to place our animals outside of the Baltimore/DC area.
