Story
This cutie is KIMBO, a male, Cairn Terrier/Chihuahua mix, who is around 4 years old and weighing 16 pounds. He has a rough/wiry coat that just needs routine brushing. Kimbo is a very sweet, shy dog who is great with other small dogs and enjoys playing with them for hours. When he’s done playing, he loves to nap on his foster mom’s lap. Because Kimbo is a sensitive dog who needs time to adjust to his new surroundings and people, a patient and understanding adopter is a must for him. Kimbo lives easily in a foster home with two teens and his foster mom and a few dogs; we have learned he is frightened of most men, loud noises, and sudden movements. Therefore, we are seeking a calm, female household, with or without teens, and another small, playful dog with whom he can buddy. Kimbo enjoys going for shorter walks and will benefit from continued leash training since he pulls on his leash due to excitement; it appears he wasn’t taken for walks prior to rescue so he’s in the process of learning leash manners. Kimbo is crated when people leave the home and at night, which he accepts easily. He is mostly housebroken when taken out on a schedule. He is uncomfortable meeting new people so he is not a dog that would do well with an adopter who wants to have a dog who goes out and meets people at events, restaurants, etc. This dog has been examined by a licensed veterinarian, provided vaccines, been dewormed, tested for diseases, neutered, and microchipped.
