Story
Waffles story is all too common in his close call to being homeless in Arkansas....but who could ignore his cuteness, adorable manner and desire to bond with anyone who could potentially be his best friend? This beautiful guy was picked up as a stray in Arkansas and ended up with one of our Arkansas rescue partners...they couldn't bear the thought that Waffles would end up in a high-kill shelter scheduled for euthanasia due to lack of space. At 8 months old and 10 lbs (anticipated to be approximately 13 lbs when full-grown), Waffles is a perfect size for hiking the Colorado mountains, neighborhood walks (he's a very social guy) and backyard fun with his family..and then at day's end, this loving pup would enjoy nothing more than a warm lap or a spot on the couch or bed next to his favorite people. Waffles enjoys his relationships with other dogs as well and would have so much fun with another playful and gentle canine best friend. Waffles could be that dream come true pup for somebody who enjoys spending their time with a scruffy and adorable guy who is so loving and engaging. There's no question that Waffles would also do well with very gentle, dog-loving older kids who enjoy the fun and snuggles that a sweet little dog brings to a family. We want to make certain that sweet Waffles is handled kindly and with respect.. and he'll return that loving treatment a thousand times over with his loyalty and love. Waffles enjoys playing and is entertaining in his silly antics and the love / hugs that he wants to share with everyone who is kind to him. Waffles would do well with anyone who's invested in spending time with their pup. He will be a committed and loving best friend..and would be overjoyed with the opportunity to come along and be part of the fun. This little guy is so pleasant and portable that he can be a part of any adventure....it can be a visit with friends, a car ride, a vacation or just an afternoon spending time together plopped down on the couch. All of this would speak to Waffles sweet temperament and love for his people. Farfel's isn't open to an adoption where family members spend their days working full-time outside of the home. We'd like Waffles to get more time and attention than is possible with that lifestyle. Those who work from a home-based office would be a perfect choice for this friendly and engaging pup. Waffles will require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming and excellent nutrition (a daily salmon oil supplement and 5 star food is recommended for longevity and eye/coat care). With this regimen, Waffles's coat will be matt-free, cottony-soft and shining with great health. Waffles will be up to date on his vetting/vaccinations to support Farfel's commitment to adopting out only healthy dogs. He has also been neutered in support of a euthanasia - free future in the canine population. Waffles is available for adoption now. Applications are currently being accepted for this very loving and sweet companion dog / best friend and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-res. cue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out our application completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Waffles please be sure to fill out the Farfel's adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving little dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit a Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Story
Rain is a 3.5MO Terrier mix weighing about 6lbs.  Rain and her brother, Pebbles were dropped off at a shelter in Texas when they were about 8 weeks old.  From there they moved to a smaller rescue area where they were quarentined and kept safe until they were able to make it to CO about a week ago.  During that time before coming to CO their interactions were limited so they are now learning how to trust.  Rain absolutely LOVES other dogs and loves romping around the yard with big and small dogs.  She is the cutest little bug and you can tell she is just the sweetest thing.  She really comes out of her shell and becomes a happy puppy.  With humans she is still learning to trust.  She will come take treats from her foster humans now and even saught out snuggles the other day all on her own.  That being said her forever family will have to have lots of patience with her while you gain her trust.  She must go to a forever family with another dog (big or small) so she can continue to learn from another dog, and have another compantion to play with and help her gain that confidence she is seeking.  Rain will also need humans who can help push her boundaries and instead of making her world smaller by avoiding the things she is scared of, she needs to be pushed into the world and shown everything it has to offer, knowing that over time she will get used to the big scary world and it wont always be so scary.  If you are interested in adopting Rain, please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##2226501##
