Story
Meet Willow — A Sweet, Sensitive Soul Ready to Bloom Willow is a 1.5-year-old, 10-pound white terrier mix with a heart full of love and a playful spirit just waiting to shine. Though timid at first and easily overwhelmed by busy or loud environments, once she feels safe and bonded, she blossoms into a snuggly, affectionate companion who will excitedly jump up for attention and melt into your arms. Her silly and confident side truly comes out when she's with other dogs — she absolutely thrives in the company of playful canine friends. Willow has a strong need to play and would do best in a home with a well-matched, active dog companion and a secure yard where they can run and romp together. She’s dog-door potty trained and enjoys the independence to go outside to play as she pleases. Willow also rides well in the car using a booster seat and walks nicely on leash, especially when she has another dog to follow. Because she can be fearful of children, Willow is best suited for an adult-only home. While she hasn’t lived with cats, we have no reason to believe she wouldn’t do fine with a calm feline friend. Willow will need an adopter who is experienced with nurturing shy or sensitive dogs. Patience, empathy, and positive reinforcement will be essential. A clear post-adoption transition plan tailored to her needs — including time to decompress, daily structure, mental enrichment, and continued socialization — will set her up for success. If you’re ready to earn the trust of a timid pup and watch her blossom into the joyful dog she’s meant to be, Willow may be your perfect match. To begin the adoption process, please submit an application using the link below. Our team will carefully review it to determine if you are a suitable match for the dog you are interested in. If deemed a good fit, the foster parent will reach out to schedule a meet-and-greet or seek additional information. In the event your application isn't accepted or might be a better fit for another dog, we will provide feedback and suggest alternative matches. Your application remains active for 90 days, allowing consideration for other dogs in our care. Simply email us if there is another dog you would like your application to be applied to. Story
He needs a home with an experienced owner. He attaches very quickly. He is an 8 week old puppy. As he is very young he will need to be trained to do things like rest in his crate or put items down. Unfortunately we don't have the time and underestimated the effort needed to raise a puppy.

Story
Sparky is a delightful 1.5-year-old Cairn Terrier mix known for his energetic and lovable nature. He greets everyone with a wagging tail and a sparkly personality, making him a joy to be around. Sparky enjoys playing fetch, going on long walks, and spending quality time with his family. He is friendly and social, getting along well with other dogs and children aged 8 and up. As a great walking buddy, he loves outdoor activities and is mostly potty trained, though still improving. Sparky is learning commands like “sit” and “shake” and is very affectionate, enjoying kisses and snuggles. He is doing very well on a mild medication regimen for seizure prevention. While he still has some playful habits, such as nibbling fingers and occasionally ignoring commands, he is a quick learner with patience and training. Sparky is looking for a forever family to share his joyful moments with. Please complete our application on our website, 1luckydogrescue.org or contact Patricia 925-787-5825 for more information. It is helpful if information about the type of home that you will provide is included if emailing us.

Rescued from the shelter, this handsome young pup has blossomed into a confident, playful companion who loves exploring the world, making new friends, and soaking up all the love he can get. He’s the kind of dog who can make you laugh with his silly antics one moment and then melt your heart by curling up beside you the next.   Daily Routine & Lifestyle   On weekdays, his mornings begin bright and early with breakfast at 7:00 am, followed by a morning walk from 7:15–7:30 am to stretch his legs and start the day on the right paw.   One of his favorite pastimes is playing with his beloved “dig box”—a cardboard box filled with toys, blankets, and hidden treats that he can rummage through to his heart’s content. He also enjoys mental enrichment activities, like unraveling a towel to find hidden goodies or solving treat puzzles. These activities keep his busy mind engaged and happy.   In the afternoon, Laser Tag looks forward to his long walk to the local park, where he enjoys greeting other dogs, sitting on the grass, and watching the world go by. Dinner is served between 5:30–6:30 pm, followed by another evening walk around 9:30–10:00 pm before settling in for the night.   Weekends are extra special for this boy— he loves longer walks, more outdoor adventures, and additional time exploring the sights and smells around him.   When bedtime rolls around, Laser Tag has plenty of favorite sleeping spots. He may curl up on the bed with his person, tuck himself under the bed, or stretch out comfortably in the living room. During warm weather, he discovered the cool comfort of hard flooring and happily snoozed in the bathroom or kitchen— proof that he’s adaptable and resourceful in finding his cozy place.   Personality Laser Tag quickly formed a bond with his foster and began showing off his playful, curious, and affectionate nature.   He’s a confident, happy pup who loves being part of the action. He can be wonderfully cuddly, often jumping onto the bed to give kisses and soak up attention. He sometimes follows his person from room to room, keeping tabs on whatever is happening, and he has the most adorable little snore when he’s sleeping soundly.   Laser Tag is also delightfully silly. When he gets the zoomies, he may race between the living room and patio, proudly carrying multiple toys from his dig box as if he’s showing off his prized collection. His playful spirit and sense of fun make everyday life more entertaining.   Social Life & Companionship   Laser Tag enjoys being out in the world and observing everything around him. At the park, he loves meeting other dogs and is eager to say hello. He’s friendly with people he encounters and has even made a neighborhood friend he now looks forward to visiting for pets and attention.   He has walked calmly past children and handled those encounters well. While he hasn’t lived with other pets in his foster home, his positive interactions with dogs during walks suggest he would enjoy having canine friends with proper introductions.   Car rides are another pleasant surprise— he settles in nicely with his doggy seatbelt, occasionally gazing out the window before relaxing and cuddling up for the ride.   Energy Level & Play Style   Laser Tag is a lively, playful young dog who truly enjoys being active. He loves long walks and sometimes breaks into a joyful run, clearly thrilled to be outside exploring. In fact, he often seems like he’d happily stay outdoors all day if given the chance.   That said, he also has a calm and observant side. He enjoys sitting on the grass at the park, quietly watching people and dogs pass by. This balance of playful energy and relaxed curiosity makes him a fun and engaging companion.   He’s not particularly interested in fetch, but he absolutely loves toys— especially stuffed animals, rope toys, and chew bones. Training sessions are another favorite activity, especially when tasty rewards like plain cooked chicken are involved. He has already learned commands like sit and touch, showing that he’s eager to learn and please.   Walking & Training   Laser Tag loves his walks! He does tend to pull at times, especially when something interesting catches his attention, but he is learning commands like “easy” and “heel.” True to his Terrier heritage, he loves sniffing and exploring with his nose close to the ground, taking in all the fascinating scents along the way.   He is friendly with other dogs on walks and enjoys greeting them, though he may pause to watch passersby with curiosity before continuing on his way.   What Makes Laser Tag Special   Laser Tag is equal parts goofy entertainer and sweet companion. He has a knack for making people laugh— like the time he dramatically dragged his bed out of his crate and shook it with such enthusiasm that it became an instant comedy show. His curious habit of popping up onto his back paws to see what’s happening in the kitchen is equally charming.   He’s still a young dog learning the ropes, but his affectionate personality, playful spirit, and eagerness to connect with people make him a truly special pup. Everyone who meets him comments on how adorable he is—and it’s easy to see why.   Laser Tag is ready to bring laughter, adventure, and lots of love to his forever home.March 29, 2026, 4:45 pm

Story
Loving 5-Year-Old Terrier Mix Looking for a Patient Home It breaks my heart to write this, but I’m looking to rehome my 5-year-old terrier mix to a loving and patient home where he can truly thrive. I’ve had him since he was a puppy, and he is a loyal, affectionate dog who bonds closely with his person. He enjoys being around people, has a playful side, and loves his daily walks and attention. He does experience some anxiety, especially when left alone for long periods, and may become vocal. He can also be a bit restless at times and has a marking habit indoors, so he will need a patient owner who can provide structure, consistency, and continued training. Because of this, he would do best in a home where: • Someone is home more often or has a flexible schedule • There is a calm, stable environment • The owner has experience with dogs or is willing to work with his needs • A house or low-density living situation is preferred This decision hasn’t been easy. I care deeply about him
