Story
Finsley was temporarily placed in our care earlier this summer as her owners were moving and she was going to be without a home. We are expecting a new addition to our family next month and her original owners are no longer able to take her back. She is an adult cat around 8 years of age. She is a cuddler, but admittedly only on her terms. As long as you let her come to you, she is a lover and adores being close to her owner. She's a low-maintenance cat and is litter box trained. She loves to play with cat wands and is very curious about water. You can often find her playing or laying in the sink and attempting to get in any running shower. She loves her treats and loves a good nap in the sun. This lazy girl would thrive best as the only animal in the house and would most likely do best with only older children.

Story
Approximate Date of Birth:4/1/2024 Description:   Hello there, I'm Xander! I'm young, and I've got a spirit as curious as they come. I love to explore, you see, to find new corners and secret hideaways. But don't worry, I'm not all about the adventure. I also love a good cuddle. There's something so comforting about curling up in a warm lap, purring away. I value my independence too, though. I'll be there when you need a friend, but I'm also happy to do my own thing. I'm a balanced guy, you could say. Adopting me would mean a loyal companion, a fearless explorer, and a cuddle buddy all rolled into one. Who wouldn't want that? Words to Describe Me: Independent, loving, curious Favorite Place to Sleep: Anywhere near you Favorite Toy: Scratching post Perfect Day: Playing with toys Kitty's Likes: Head scratches Kitty's Dislikes: Be held for too long Fastest Way to Get Me to Purr: Pet me Favorite Treat: Wet food Good with Cats: Likes cats given a proper introduction. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Prince is a orange tabby with a handsome coat and face.  He is approximately 5-7 years old. He has lived in a shelter  for a number of years after his owner passed away.  Prince is a very cautious guy around new humans but loves the company of other cats. He has come a long way since first arriving at the shelter. He enjoys being brushed, rubbed with scatcher, and petted on his back. He loves Fancy Feast too! Prince would be consider a "socially awkward cat".  What is a socially awkward cat?  Some cats are shy, timid, or fearful of people and other cats. They may hide, avoid, or even lash out when approached by strangers. These cats are not mean or unlovable; they are just socially awkward and need extra time and patience to trust and bond with their human companions. They may never become affectionate lap cats, but they have their own unique ways of showing love and appreciation. If you are looking for a cat who will challenge you, surprise you, and reward you with loyalty and devotion, then you might be the perfect match for one of our socially awkward cats.   Because these cats require more patience and understanding than most, we have a few special policies regarding them:   We will ask more questions about your home environment, other pets, children, and other details to make sure you are the right match for the cat. Please don't be discouraged if you are not the right fit! We have many other cats, and one of them is sure to be a fit. We typically arrange video meet-and-greets for these cats for the initial contact. Most of these cats get stressed out by new situations, and allowing them to be seen without that stress trigger makes for a better experience for everyone. We may discount the adoption fees for these cats. Our first priority is to find the right match between cat and human, and we realize that these kitties may take more time than most to settle in and determine compatibility.   If you think you may be the right fit for Prince or another one of our socially awkward cats, please fill out an interest form today!  Prince has become bonded to his bestie Bourbon - they do everything together and help each other navigate the scariness of the world together!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.    Our adoption fee is $175       If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Cat Interest Form on AZRAIN.ORG and, if you are selected as a prospective adopter, we will contact you to set up a meet and greet. Thank you for considering rescuing an animal in need!     November 15, 2024, 9:59 am
