Story
Spud is almost four years old. In November we found Spud tied up to a park bench in the early morning while we were out walking our other dog. We took him home because he was shivering and scared. He had a microchip and were able to get in touch with the previous owner, but she said she had moved to Charlotte several months earlier and gave the dog away before she moved. The new owners apparently didn’t want him anymore and just left him out in the cold for someone else to find and deal with. For the last several months we have been fostering Spud. He was extremely skittish and untrusting for the first couple weeks. It was clear he was dealing with some sort of past trauma. But after a couple weeks, he finally started feeling safe inside his new home. He is calm and low maintenance most of the time and loves to cuddle, go for walks, and have his belly rubbed. It’s time for him to now have a long-term permanent home.

Story
Welcome Emma to CCPAL foster program. Emma is a 3-year old pure English Mastiff. We do not have papers. She weighs 110 pounds. She pulls on leash but she does lean in on the person that is her person. She responds well to affection and was taking direction well in just a short period of time working with her at the Rescue. She is a gentle giant. This is a loyal breed and my experience with them is they are protective of their family once they bond. Mastiff breeds are notoriously patient and good with children. She knows Spanish and English commands. She is good with children and other dogs. She isn’t good with small dogs. She would be great with a moderately active family familiar with an XL dog or the Mastiff breed. This breed will do wonderful with strong person who knows how to give good direction. She is stunning and if you love this breed, you will love this dog. She is getting spayed soon and will be getting her vaccines and be ready for her forever home in a couple of weeks. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to be delivered to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 if you have any questions. Please go to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com with questions. Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Meet Orion! He is 7-year-old Bullmastiff/Boerboel mix who weighs 118 lbs. He came to us from an overcrowded shelter in CA and is looking for his forever home! His perfect home would have a chill, steady, and peaceful environment. Orion walks well on a leash but can be strong and will need a family with good dog-handling skills. He is crate trained and finds comfort in a regular routine. Breed experience is required for his adopter. This big guy is looking for a quieter forever home outside of city-life. He will need a single-family detached home in a suburban or rural neighborhood. He would LOVE a large, securely fenced yard as well to roam and be with his people. In the summertime he would enjoy laying around in the sun! He can be dog selective and has shown to be friendly with submissive females but would do best as an only dog soaking up all the attention! Orion will be neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. His fee is $500.
