Hello! My name is Jake!I came into the Guelph Humane Society in June very scared and under-socialized. My GHS friends and foster parents have been working very hard to help me learn that the world isn`t so scary. Once I warm up, you will see I have the best wiggle-bum. And I enjoy neck scratches and bum scratches. I`m still working on my confidence as little things can scare me, such as noises and movements. When I feel comfortable though, I can be quite silly and playful. I`m looking for an experienced home that is patient and can dedicate time to helping me continue to come out of my shell!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: No, I`m looking for an adult-only home.OTHER DOGS: No, unfortunately I don`t have much experience with dogs and aren`t very comfortable with them.CATS: Potentially, with cat confident around dogs.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, I am looking for a family that has lots of dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Required.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No apartment buildings due to my fearful nature.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium.HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes!If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the `adopt me` button to apply!

Hello! My name is Rooster!I`ve been at the Guelph Humane Society for many months receiving care for my uncomfortable skin infection. I`m feeling much better now and ready to find my new home! I still require weekly medicated baths for the time being. I`m a big sweetheart. I can be nervous of new people which can sometimes involve barking. I warm up pretty quickly with a patient, gentle approach. I am playful and enjoy other dogs. I`m looking for a home that has the time and patience for a puppy and will help me continue building my confidence!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: Yes, older and respectful children.OTHER DOGS: Yes, a friendly dog who would enjoy playing with a puppy.CATS: Yes, a cat confident around dogs and not overwhelmed by puppy exuberance.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, I would do best in a home that has experience caring for dogs previously.FENCED-IN YARD: Highly recommended given my size and energy.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No apartment buildings or environments where strangers may get too close inadvertently and cause me to bark.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: In the beginning, yes, but I can be left for longer times as I adjust to the new home.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium-high puppy energy!HOUSE-TRAINED: Not fully, I will require house-training assistance. If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the `adopt me` button to apply!
