Story
Welcome Hans to CCPAL foster program. Hans is a 1 year old English Mastiff pure bred dog. She weighs 70 pounds and should weigh up to 100 or so full grown. We do not have papers. We are a rescue and only help find homes for Rescue dogs needing great placements. Hans is good in a crate and good with other dogs. She is around other dogs all her size or bigger. She has all the lovely qualities of the Mastiff. She is loyal and once when the gate was open she stayed inside the yard and warned the owners that some of her group were out of the yard. She is less vocal and has an adorable wrinkly face. She understands Spanish and English commands as she has people around her that know both languages. She has been around lots of people including teens and does great. She got her second vaccination today and will be spayed soon with the CCPAL rescue. She is currently in Texas in foster care. She is lower on the shed scale, good in a crate and decent on a leash. She goes potty outside and like all mastiffs she drools when she is ready to eat or you are about to feed her. This breed is naturally a protective dog and would be best with someone that knows and loves this breed. She is a beautiful khaki and black coloration. She has big webbed feet and should be a good swimmer. Right now she is not near water so we don’t know if she likes water to swim. When you get a puppy it is best you have some free time to train and spend time with her. It will make for a better adult dog. She is in Texas now and can be adopted locally. We can also work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 600 due to her high spay cost and transport will be $200 if we use the transporter. . Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Our Scooby is one hilarious character. When you think of all the characteristics that Bullmastiff afficionados love about these fun-loving, goofy dogs, Scooby has them all. He is the poster boy for best of the Bullies.  Scooby's story is a familiar one. At the age of three, Scooby found himself a rescue statistic when his owners faced eviction with uncertain times ahead. Scooby joined our rescue from a local Connecticut Animal Control Shelter after staff had fallen in love with him.  Of course, Bullies are higher energy than most dog breeds, and Scooby is no exception. He is a robust boy with a BIG personality. He needs sufficient exercise to be happy, at least two to three brisk leash walks a day, plus a lot of focused playtime and ongoing obedience work with his person.  Scooby loves the outdoors and enjoys his walks even in the harsh weather. He would be an ideal walking or running companion, which would help work out his ya-yas before an obedience session. He has had a good grounding in beginning obedience and knows his basic commands. Adopters should continue his program, and develop his full potential. Bullies as loving as Scooby should be the Breed Ambassadors. Scooby has a strong, yet nimble physique, and is at an ideal weight of 75 pounds. His coat is short, manageable and easy to groom. Scooby is mostly tan with striking black muzzle markings.  Scooby could join just about any kind of active adult home. He is generally well behaved, and friendly to all. Although he is fairly easy to handle, he may overwhelm kids. He would be fine with other well behaved dogs near his size. We have not tested him but he would likely stalk and chase them beyond their comfort level.  Scooby has excellent house manners, and is house trained and crate trained, although adopters should expect to troubleshoot the occasional accident that may occur as he adjusts to a new routine. Scooby rides calmly in the car, and behaves well in public. Scooby has been neutered, and has received routine vaccinations and health screenings. If you are interested in Scooby, please write to Denise at Angelsfrgod@aol.com or call Denise at 860-908-9738 for more info.

Story
Meet Daisy!Daisy is a 1-year-old, 65-pound Mastiff mix with a heart as big as her paws! Rescued as a stray in poor condition, Daisy has been thriving in her foster home and steadily gaining weight. She’s blossomed into a sweet, loving girl who adores bedtime cuddles and following her humans everywhere—they’ll never be alone with her around!Still a playful pup, Daisy has plenty of energy and is house trained and still learning the ropes of training like not jumping on you in excitement. She’s a smart cookie and eager to please, so with patience and consistency, she’ll become an amazing companion. Daisy loves playing with bigger, higher-energy dogs, like her foster family’s huskies, and has shown promise around cats. While she’s still learning to respect feline boundaries, she’s making great progress.Watching Daisy discover toys and grow into her happy, playful self is nothing short of heartwarming. She’s ready to bring her big heart and loyal spirit into a forever home that will love her unconditionally. Could Daisy be your perfect match?IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.December 4, 2024, 3:44 pm
