Story
Rose lives outside although she is let inside when the weather is bad/cold/too hot. For the past few weeks we let her in to sleep in a crate every night. She is high energy and needs to be trained on jumping and we just don’t have the time. She is super sweet and not the least bit aggressive. She has been around our smaller dog (Callie the chihuahua) and our cats and does not bark, chase, or growl at them. Callie has full on “attacked” Rose and she just stood there and took it, not so much as a growl or snap. We’ve had Callie longer and honestly her dislike for Rose is a part of the problem as well. Our yard is not fenced in and the house is small. She just needs somewhere with more space, and someone who can work with her daily for training. It’s not an easy decision to say goodbye to this loveable girl but we are trying to do what’s right for her.

These pups are in Fort Mill, South Carolina too!

Story
My dogs name is nugget and he’s a really really really great loving dog! He is house trained, great with people and my kids. I have never walked him with a leash ever he’s knows not to go in the street, pretty much just let him do his thing we don’t have a backyard in my townhome community so we have a little area where he knows to do his thing. He does have allergies, I’ve been giving him apoquel for his allergies about one a day and it seems to do the trick. He does have some skin issues on his back from before the apoquel and we were trying to figure out how to help him but other than that he just wants to play all day. I’m starting a trucking career oct 28th and unfortunately I won’t be able to bring him with me and my wife doesn’t like dogs he was pretty much mine so gonna have to find him a new home

Story
I’m Hokey Pokey, a lovable boxer mix who is quick with a smooch and a hug for my human friends.I came to the Humane Society of York County after my family was displaced by Hurricane Helene and could no longer care for me. After some time to decompress at the rescue, I showed everyone what an affectionate boy I am, always excited to see people and get some TLC.I’m a medium size guy, around 50 pounds, and my estimated birth date is August 2022.I’m a terrific car rider and I’m a good leash walker. I love my daily walks at the rescue! I’m a playful boy with normal energy for my age. I’m attending school at Zoom Room in Fort Mill, and my new family would have a couple of free lessons to continue my training.I’m a sweet, cheerful boy who needs a loving forever family. Call HSYC and come meet me! I’ll have some hugs for you.If you wish to meet me, please call the Humane Society of York County at (803)-802-0902 to schedule an appointment. Please refer to our website for adoption requirements: https://humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org/adopt/adoption-process.htmlThank you for your support.
