Story
Stefon is a 5 month old Bull Terrier.  Our guy is vocal and makes cute little raspy low noises when he's excited! He sounds like a little happy piglet. He is very sweet and loves attention. He knows all the best clubs for the holidays! Please do your research on this breed BEFORE applying to adopt. They are a special hard headed breed that aren't the best fit for every home. Although Stefon loves playing with his dog friends, I can already tell he's going to be an alpha. He would do best in a home with a submissive dog friend if any dogs. His foster has children and although he does fine, he would do best in a home with older children he will NOT be placed in a home with young children . He would also love a fenced in yard to run in but not a deal breaker for an active person or family. He is a puppy and on going training will be needed to make him the best dog he can be. He is mostly potty & crate trained. Please allow 72 hours for us to respond back after your application has been submitted. If interested, please  complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Our $275 adoption fee includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. Story
Abbott – Special Needs Pup Abbott is an adorable English Bull Terrier puppy who was lucky enough to be born in rescue, giving him the best possible start in life. At just 9 weeks old, Abbott is already working hard on learning hand signals and learning how to play tug, run, play, and snuggle. Abbott mom weighs about 40 pounds, and dad is a solid 50, so this little guy is likely to grow into a sturdy, medium-sized companion. Potential adopters should have breed experience or deep knowledge about English Bull Terriers. While they’re often compared to Pit Bull Terriers, English Bull Terriers are unique with their own set of quirky traits that make them both lovable and challenging. Special Considerations for Abbott  As a deaf puppy , Abbott will need an adopter who understands how to communicate with him using hand signals, consistent routines, and positive reinforcement. Deaf dogs are just as capable of learning and loving as hearing dogs, and with the right approach, Abbott will be a fantastic companion. Training and socialization are especially important for him to ensure he grows into a well-rounded adult dog. Bull Terriers are best known for their: Goofy personalities:   From spontaneous zoomies to carrying around odd treasures, they keep you laughing. Clown-like behavior:   They’re natural comedians and love being the center of attention. Stubborn streak:   These pups are smart but can be headstrong, so patient, positive reinforcement training is key. Endless energy:   Playful and energetic, they need daily mental and physical stimulation to thrive. Abbott will need ongoing training, early socialization, and plenty of activities to keep him happy and balanced. Is Abbott the Right Fit for You? English Bull Terriers are not a good match for first-time dog owners or families with small children due to their strength, boisterous nature, and need for consistent boundaries. Abbott’s ideal adopter will: Have prior experience or knowledge with Bull Terriers or similar breeds. Commit to training and socialization to bring out his best. Provide a home that matches his playful, quirky personality. If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind pup, Abbott might just be your perfect match! Are you ready for a lifetime of laughs, loyalty, and love with this silly guy?    If interested, please  complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO.
