Story
Link is a 5 1/2 year old strikingly handsome English Bull Terrier. He follows the energy of his family and can be just as content snuggling in front of the TV as hiking in the woods. Link really enjoys other canine company, however he should remain with canines close to his size or larger and he should not reside with any cats. Link travels in the car and crates like a dream. He is very “go with the flow” and loves simply being included in everyday life with his family. He is easy to please and is very food motivated, never turning down a treat. He’s very expressive with his beautifully large nose and is known for giving nose boops as he walks by to express his love. Links seems to enjoy older children, men and women alike. He does easily startle with sudden movements and noises and could use some work on his confidence, however his demeanor can change while he’s in his own yard if a car or person goes by and suddenly he finds his voice. Link will do best in a quieter home with a patient person or family who understands that he is a fairly serious dog who needs time to trust those around him. He would likely appreciate a friendly and confident canine companion to also share life with. Link has some occasional joint stiffness that takes a little time to come out of. Spend enough time around Link and you’ll soon see that he has a very unique way of sitting. You’ll know it when you see it and it just adds to the charm of this unique, sweet boy.LOCATED IN CROSSVILLE, CUMBERLAND COUNTY, TN. Story
Hi, I'm Yahtzee! I'm just the right size.and as sweet as they come. Not too big to be overwhelming but not too small either...I'm just right! When I came to FMAR as a stray, I had a skin condition and the veterinary team is working hard to help me feel better. I'm only a few years old and I have a lot of love to give to someone who will give me chance to be a part of their family. If you would like to meet me, please submit an application for me on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. I am neutered, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. My adoption fee is $250, which helps cover the cost of the medical care I have received.**Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.

Story
Hi! My name is Captain, A.K.A. Capsters, Cap-man...Oh, Captain, My Captain! Three months ago, I was adopted by my momma, after she lost her last fur baby of 7 years. I was a complete mystery! They think I'm three years old, but I was cruising the streets before my mom met me, so I'll just keep my secrets. I didn't know how to be in a home just yet, and I loved to use my mouth to play and communicate. I spent a lot of time learning and now I just bark when she's not paying attention to me (when I want to demand to play!). Me and my new mom have been on hikes (leash training needed), played scent games, scent puzzles, and I even learned basic cues in a matter of weeks! wait, down, sit, leave it, release cues. I didn't have to learn to use the potty outside though I already knew how. I am a cuddle bug too, especially if mom is sad. Which she has been, as she sees I need more than she can give right now, are you my person?

Story
Nancy is just adorable, she will have nicer pictures coming soon to really show her off. She is estimated to be about 9 months old and weighs 25 pounds. Nancy is so darn cute and this little muffin is very connecting, she likes to be close. She is also a playful pup, but can be quite timid, she is in need of a forever home where she can feel safe and gain confidence. Nancy is very hand shy too, we fear she may have been hit a few times in her short life, she will need a leader she can rely on, someone who can show her the world isn’t as scary as it seems. Due to her shy nature, it may take Nancy a little while to warm up to you, but once she does, you'll have a loyal and loving companion who will be your furry best friend. She will need a home where any children are at least 8 years old. If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Nancy would love to meet them. She has a bit of an apprehensive approach with other dogs at first, but then moves into play. If you are interested in Nancy and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

Story
This little guy is darling, he will have much cuter pictures coming soon! Panther is estimated to be about 7 months old and weighs 12 pounds. Panther is a goofy, cuddly baby who loves to be close to his favorite people. He enjoys lots of snuggles and is most content in your lap, but of course loves to be a playful, silly pup too! Panther would be the perfect addition to a family who is able to give him lots of love and attention. Because he is so people-oriented, and still a puppy, he would prefer to be in a home where he is not alone for long periods of time. Panther can be a little submissive and really wants to please you, so it would be wonderful if his family could help build his confidence and also work on some basic obedience. He can't wait to find a forever home where he can bring love and joy into his new family's life! If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Panther would love to meet them. He has whole body wiggles and play bows when with other friendly dogs, too cute! If you are interested in Panther l and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. Story
They call me Exuberant, Handsome and Sweet but you can choose a new name for me when we adopt each other. I don’t care what you call me, as long as you call me. I’m a happy dog who loves people more than anything else in the world. I’m a 4 year old Pitbull Lab (?) mix, with a 22” collar and am very big and strong. The Vet said I weigh 73 pounds. Don’t let that scare you because I am just a mushy ball of love. I like to let everyone know how happy I am to see them by twirling around and wagging my tail as fast as it will go. This is usually when they call me Exuberant. I like to have fun. Because I’m such a good boy, I’m allowed in the house and have good potty manners. I prefer being inside with people at night especially. You can hold the TV remote for us. Since I have a lot of energy and need exercise, your large fenced yard will be well-used. My foster peeps say I need a family, not a job. They know that I’m a quick learner and will be someone’s best dog ever with some training. Because I’m big and young at heart, my new humans should have some experience with dogs and be able to work with someone of my stature. I promise I will try to do everything you ask enthusiastically. Fortunately, my past dog life doesn’t include any physical abuse so I’m not afraid of people or other animals. I don’t like loud booming noises (fireworks or dynamite) or gunfire so I wouldn’t be a good hunting dog. Health wise, I am terrific; up to date on shots and tested negative for heartworms. Recently I was tricked into getting “tutored” and woke up with my bubbles missing. Foster peeps say it means I will get my forever home very soon! Maybe it’s yours!
