Story
Ivy was born on May 11th 2022 in Houston, she has been part of our family since then, she is very sweet dog and love everyone she meets. I am currently having a health trauma and is unable to physically care for Ivy or the expenses that comes with with walking services. So I am hoping to find a new home for Ms. Ivy. I want a caring family that love pets and will take care of her. Ivy is very sweet and would do well in a home where she has a yard and/or regular walks. She likes kids and has done okay with the cats, though they are mostly kept separate. But l believe if you introduce them well, there will be no aggression toward the cat or other dogs. She is a cuddle bug and just wants to love you. I always sit with her for a bit after our walks. I have a walker that l can recommend for you that will be happy to provide walks and training for you Ivy is sweet girl , and am trying to keep her out of the shelter. Please message me asap and thank you for helping

Story
MAX is the dog of the HOUR!!!! There isn't a better dog available. Max's life began dreadfully. In his short life of 1.5 years old, Max found himself without a home, had to have an extensive surgery on his hip due to an unknown injury, and has lived for months in a kennel in boarding at a vet clinic. He is completely vetted, up to date on vaccines, neutered, and is heartworm negative! He weighs approximately 45 to 50 pounds. Recently, Max landed the best foster home ever and is showing off his awesome personality! If you have other pets, he will love them!!! He gets along with cats, dogs, birds and even tortoises. He is very playful and doesn't have a mean bone in his body. Max does like to be near his person and seems to have some separation anxiety. His favorite things are lying next to his person, playing with his Nylabone or squeaky toy, and romping and playing with a willing canine. He loves car rides and walks very well on a leash. He sits, shakes hands, and also knows other tricks. He is also very willing to learn more!! Max would excel in a home with another pet, and it would be awesome if he could be someone that works from home or could bring him to work. He has excellent house manners and does his business outside!

Story
Name: Orianna Sex: Female Estimated Age: About 2-3 years old Best Guess for Breed: Bull Terrier Mix Weight: About 55 lbs Lives With: Dogs, people, cats and kids - she’s great with everyone! Housebroken? Orianna is housebroken and crate trained. Story: Orianna was rescued from a shelter in North Carolina and we are so happy to have her in a foster home in the DC area now. Orianna is a super sweetie that loves all people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. She knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with her humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Orianna is just looking for someone to be her new best furend and we know that she will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Even though Orianna is an adult dog, she will need an adopter who is committed to setting her up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising her both mentally and physically. She will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! What my foster says: Ori has been in foster for a little over two months and in that time she has evolved into an incredibly silly, sweet, chill, and cuddly little girl. She would be an amazing dog for just about anyone but the more people...the better!!! She is great in the home, on leash, in the crate, in the car, in new places, when friends come over...she just wants to be with people and be loved. She is a medium-energy dog so she would be perfect for someone who works from home and just wants a buddy to quietly nap nearby. She'll go on runs with you if you want but it will take her 15 minutes to run a mile. But she'll do it if it means spending time with you! She has been easy to bathe, to clip her nails, to dress her up in various outfits, to do some obedience training with (she LOVES food)...she is a go-with-the-flow kinda gal.  She has met and done well with screaming, rolling, and pulling-on-tail kids since all she really wants is to be petted and adored - doesn't matter by who! She is an incredibly sweet and friendly girl who deserves to be so spoiled to make up for whatever she went through early on in her life (which impacts her 0%). She has the silliest personality and makes us laugh all the time. She is very truly a really wonderful and easy dog. Anyone would be so lucky to have her! The fee to adopt Orianna is $450. That covers the cost of all her vaccines, the collar she’s wearing, her transport to DC and her care in her foster home. She’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, and already spayed. Orianna has been seen by a shelter vet and is being treated for Heartworm. Heartworm is a very treatable illness that is common in many shelter dogs coming from the South. For more information on heartworm, visit our blog. If you think that Orianna might be your perfect match, apply today!December 19, 2024, 1:22 pm

Story
We took Remi to help a family friend who has been hospitalized for over a month and can no longer care for this much-loved dog. We have had him for 3 weeks and have grown to love him, but we are in our 70s, travel often, and cannot give this dog the love and attention he needs. He is playful and very sweet, is housebroken, is not aggressive, and loves his squeaky toys! We want him to have a home where he can have the attention he needs.

Story
Please contact Maddy Karon (maddyk@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Sweet girl seeking her happily ever after!ELLA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Name: Ella          Best Guess for Breed:  Bull terrier mix   Best Guess for Age:  6 years as of October 2024       SEX:  Female   Approximate Weight:  45 lbs   Gets Along With:   Ella would like to shine as the only dog in her home! She has lived with an infant and a toddler. She hasn't been seen with cats but can be tested if you have them.    Currently Living at:   DC area home   All about Ella:   Ella came into our care in 2019 and was adopted out to a loving home where she joined another dog. Her adopters took wonderful care of her, making sure she had everything she needed to be healthy and happy. She quickly showed how much she loves her humans and lavished affection upon them. The years went by. Two children joined the family, and Ella loved them very much too. She just takes so much pleasure in being with people.   One thing has changed since 2019: How she feels about other dogs. She initially did well with the other dog who was already in the home, and was ok with dogs she met outside of the home. However, as time passed, she started showing some behaviors that indicate she would be better off as the only dog in the home. Her owners did everything right - training, veterinary behaviorist, applied all the recommended interventions. After many months of professional support, everyone understood what Ella was saying: That she really likes people. Dogs, not so much. Her humans made the difficult decision to allow Ella to find a home where she can be comfortable and happy - and the canine queen of her castle. She is wonderful in the home. She's crate trained and uses the crate as one of her rotating preferred 'chill' spots. She becomes very happy and excited when her humans return home - she is what makes a house a home.Ella has so much love to give, so much life to add to a home. So many tail wags and adoring gazes for her humans. What do you say? Are you looking for a very special one and only? Meet Ella and see if she is the one for you!Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Story
I`m in a FOSTER HOME! If you would like to schedule a time to meet with me, please contact my foster parent at aallshouse72@gmail.com. Gala is such a sweet, rambunctious, and adaptive pooch with so much personality — made all the more rewarding when you consider how she started out at the shelter: a very timid, fearful gal. She loves to go on walks —she sits at intersections! — and is perfectly houstrained. Gala is great on-leash outdoors around other dogs, but she can be reactive around other animals inside the home, so she would thrive in a home where she`s the only pet or has time to get to know the other four+ legged patrons of the abode. Gala loves to nibble on her toys. When she wants your attention, she`ll bring her toy and play footsie, holding your feet between her paws. It`s extremely cute. She clearly knows how to get your attention — but don`t be deceived! She`s capable of entertaining herself for hours should you put a plushy toy her way. She`s the perfect pooch if you want a spunky gal who`s equal parts a couch potato.Check out Gala`s video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdUq5QjnzaE
