Story
If you are a fan of the Bull Terrier breed, we have a handsome tricolored boy named Nacho in our Camp K-9 program. With a breed often described as playful and endearing - and sometimes stubborn - but always devoted, Nacho is a prime example of that. Nacho has learned his basic commands and manners in the Kentucky State Reformatory training program. He loves playing ball and chewing on Nylabones. His handler describes him as "very lovable. Nacho can be dog selective, especially with other male dogs, so if you already have a canine companion, we would need to do a meet and greet with them. Nacho is 4 years old and weighs 50 pounds. He is looking for a home with someone who appreciates his noble looks and personality. Are you the one who might give him a chance?

Story
Meet Moo! Moo is a 10 year old old Bull Terrier. Moo is an alpha female with an independent streak, so she needs a very confident and experienced owner. She would do best with a strict schedule, loads of exercise and a lot of training to keep her engaged. Moo needs a home without other animals, and not recommended for a home with children. She would take well to consistent training. Moo would also need a home with a fence. Moo is a love bug, just needs that 'person' that can give her what she needs! If you are familiar with Bull Terriers and love this sweet girl as much as we do, fill out an application at www.barktownrescue.org. MOO'S ADOPTION FEE IS $100The shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at the dog's predominant breed or breed mix. We strongly encourage you to select your new pet by looking at each dog's individual personality and pet qualities rather than relying on a breed label that is only our best guess.    Our adoption fees vary from $150 and up.  All of our dogs are up to date on vaccines, heart worm preventives, and flea/tick medication, and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Portions of your adoption fee also help care for the sick and injured animals that we take in.  Thank you for supporting us and considering a rescue dog!    November 4, 2024, 9:21 am

Story
Meet our beautiful, energetic 3-year-old female English Bull Terrier, a brindle beauty with a heart full of love. She’s still intact, and bursting with energy, making her the perfect companion for an experienced handler who can keep up with her energy. This sweet girl is looking for someone to take her on adventures and provide the firm, loving guidance she needs to thrive. While she’s incredibly affectionate, she also has a stubborn streak (like most bull terriers 😂) that requires a confident, experienced leader to bring out her best. Teri is current on shots, but will need boosters soon. She is not microchipped. She would do best in a fenced in yard where she can run off some energy. We love her; however, she has a high energy level for my elderly parents, and needs a space without chickens, ducks, or other small animals. She’s great with other dogs and likes to play. If you’re ready for a loyal, lively, friend who’s eager to learn and love, she could be your perfect match!
