Meet Sierra Leone, an 11-year-old sweetheart ready for her second chance at forever. Through no fault of her own, this gentle senior has found herself back at the shelter—but she’s currently living in a foster home, where she’s enjoying the comforts of a real home while she waits for her forever family. What she truly deserves, though, is a cozy, loving place to spend her golden years. She appears to have some hearing impairment but can hear the foster`s clicker.Sierra Leone is quiet, calm, and completely housetrained. She walks beautifully on leash and enjoys exploring the outdoors at her own pace. In her previous home, she lived with children of all ages and was gentle and loving with everyone she met. She delights in affection—ear scratches, cozy cuddles, and simply being close to her people make her happiest. Curious, kind-hearted, and full of quiet wisdom, Sierra Leone still has so much love to give. She’s dreaming of a family who will cherish her and give her the comfort, care, and companionship she so deeply deserves. When on walks she ignores squirrels so would likely be good with cats with slow introductions.Sierra Leone would love to meet any potential canine siblings! Our staff will carefully handle all dog-to-dog introductions at the shelter to ensure a great match. Feel free to bring your pup along when you come to meet her!Sierra Leone is spayed, microchipped, up to date on her vaccinations, and ready for her forever home! Story
Approximately 6 year old female mixed breed dog. Came from a shelter 5 years ago. Due to schedules she is crated through the day. She is great with those that live in the household, including cats, and once introduced to others, becomes comfortable with them. Behavior issues include when she is able to get outside off lead, will dart out of the house and chase others if seen, jumping and barking at other people or dogs leaving her yard. She has not bitten anyone she had jumped at, but sounds aggressive. She is also protective of those in the household and a new person needs to be introduced in a controlled manner. She does have a skin condition and allergies on her back hide which requires seeing the vet at times. She is a loving dog, we believe she needs a bigger yard to run in, a more active family / owner that is able to do things with her a socialize her more. Currently in a home with 4 teen kids. Is house trained.
