Story
This is Laura Jane. We believe that she is a 1 year old Bull Terrier, and only weighs 32 pounds! Laura Jane came to Judy's Forgotten Jewells on February 9th. She was originally found as a stray and brought to a local animal control. Since she has been in care, staff members say that she is such a sweet little girl who is playful and smart. She knows sit and loves to go on walks. She could improve on her leash manners as she does like to spin around on the leash but that's just because she is so excited to explore! She is working on being housebroken and will likely learn quickly in a home with a routine and the patience to teach her. She has met dogs and cats and seems to get along with both but we still recommend a slow introduction following adoption. She has not met any children, to our knowledge, but should be fine with kids that are used to an energetic and playful dog. Her adoption fee is $400. The adoption fee includes their care, de-worming, microchip, spay, vaccines, fecal test, and preventatives up to the point of adoption. In addition to their adoption fee, there is a $45 fee, depending on weight, to cover the 6 months of heartworm prevention we will send home with each adoptee. Story
Shelby joined our family as a pup after getting lost from her pack despite efforts to find her owner. We’ve enjoyed having her and hoped to be her fur-ever home, unfortunately our circumstances have changed. Shelby is 6y/o and full of love. She is happiest with people who’ll give her affection and treats. She’s obedient with a rambunctious streak. She enjoys naps, chew toys and tug-a-war. Cold weather is her least favorite but short walks are Shelby approved! While appearing intimidating, she is very gentle. Shelby likes zoomies around the house but is most comfortable sleeping in her cozy kennel. We trained her not to run outside of our un-fenced yard or chase the geese. She likes watching nature around the fire pit but is not the best fetch dog! LOL We seek a permanent, loving home where she can stay active. Shelby would make a great companion dog for anyone who is mobile. She is observant but not very vocal. We’d love updates and photos after adoption but it’s not mandatory.

Story
Abby Cadabby, a 4-year-old English Bull Terrier, has THE BEST SMILE. She is a gentle, playful girl ready to live her forever life after being used as a breeding mama.     One of Abby’s favorite things to do is play fetch. She’s not only eager to chase after her favorite toys, but she’s also good at dropping them right back at your feet, ready for the next round. She will play as long as you are willing to keep tossing the ball. When she’s extra excited, she shows off her signature Bull Terrier “hucklebutts” and adorable bunny-like bounces.    And when the playtime winds down, she’ll roll over for belly rubs, letting you know how much she appreciates the fun.  At night, she'd like to curl up next to you with her chewy bone and snooze.  While you are away, she can be crated without a fuss, but is respectful of the space if left uncrated.    Abby has a soft and gentle nature, especially around children. When she sees little ones, her face lights up with joy and she’s ready to shower them with affection.    She is dog friendly when outside and where she has plenty of space, but when inside it can be a little too much for her. For this reason, she’d thrive as the only dog in her home, where she can soak up all the love and attention she deserves.   Most importantly, Abby is looking for someone who can spoil her with all the love she missed in her early years. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to Abby Cadabby, she’ll fill your life with magic, joy, and unconditional love.   If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Abby Cadabby’s adoption fee is $275.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. Story
Fence Yard Required, Wants to be an only dog. No children due to rambunctious play. Meet Caboose, AKA Boose, a resilient 4-year-old English Bull Terrier with a heart full of potential and a story that will melt yours. Rescued from a neglectful breeder situation, Caboose is experiencing the warmth and love of a home for the first time. Physically, Caboose is on the mend. He endured trauma to his muzzle, but soft baby hairs are beginning to grow back, and the pressure sores and urine burns on his back end are healing beautifully. Emotionally, he’s made incredible strides but still needs someone patient and compassionate to guide him as he learns what it means to feel safe and loved. Everyday household items can be intimidating for Caboose, as his previous life was spent outdoors chained to a tree or confined to a crate in a barn. He’s improving with potty training and is happy to wear a belly band inside to prevent accidents as he gets the hang of home life. True to his Bull Terrier nature, Caboose has a playful side that will make you smile. He’s full of puppy-like energy, complete with rambunctious play, bucking bronco moves, and the playful nibbles his breed is known for.  These are all the traits we love about bull terriers, but they do require some training through positive reinforcement to establish boundaries.   Caboose is looking for a special person to take him under their wing and show him that life is good, that he is safe, and that he’ll never have to face uncertainty again. If you have the patience to help this boy heal and the heart to love him unconditionally, Caboose is ready to begin his new chapter with you. If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO.
