Story
MAX is the dog of the HOUR!!!! There isn't a better dog available. Max's life began dreadfully. In his short life of 1.5 years old, Max found himself without a home, had to have an extensive surgery on his hip due to an unknown injury, and has lived for months in a kennel in boarding at a vet clinic. He is completely vetted, up to date on vaccines, neutered, and is heartworm negative! He weighs approximately 45 to 50 pounds. Recently, Max landed the best foster home ever and is showing off his awesome personality! If you have other pets, he will love them!!! He gets along with cats, dogs, birds and even tortoises. He is very playful and doesn't have a mean bone in his body. Max does like to be near his person and seems to have some separation anxiety. His favorite things are lying next to his person, playing with his Nylabone or squeaky toy, and romping and playing with a willing canine. He loves car rides and walks very well on a leash. He sits, shakes hands, and also knows other tricks. He is also very willing to learn more!! Max would excel in a home with another pet, and it would be awesome if he could be someone that works from home or could bring him to work. He has excellent house manners and does his business outside!

When you eat your Thanksgiving turkey- will you think of me?? I will be right next to you trying to get it... NOW will you think of me?? LOL, ok, I kid.... I do love turkey though :) I am Wishbone, and I am a bull terrier/beagle mixed boy with a story to tell! I am so smart like a bull terrier- somewhat stubborn, like a bull terrier, but I follow my NOSE like a beagle! I am super cute, only about 40# and I am pretty active. I love to have a hard playing buddy, no small animals (like kitties) as I have a prey drive- like a bull terrier.. you see where I am going with this, right?? I would love have an active family, kids older than grade school as I love a moving target and smaller ones don't quite understand that. I am a love bug, and once tired out I am the bestest cuddler! So, what are you waiting for? Look me up, take me on adventures when you apply to adopt me! ADOPT, DON'T SHOP!!!! MY LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Hello! My name is Meatball, and I am about 3 years old. When I was found as a stray nobody knew my name nor where I came from. I was definitely someone's dog but sadly, they didn't take good care of me nor come looking for me. Treasured Animal Rescue saw my adorable picture of my underbite and gave me that Freedom Ride. I was sad in the shelter but when my Rescuers came for me, and I got that Freedom Ride from the shelter I knew my future was going to be so much brighter! The day I met my foster family I felt so safe. They welcomed me into their home and let me settle in. Of course, my first course of action was finding my spot on the couch. I guess that's how I got the title "couch potato". But one day I was outside with my foster Daddy and he had a ball. This ball was round and plump just like me and I felt like I was in heaven. I had so much fun playing with my ball. You would think every dog has their happy moments with playing with something so simple like a ball but deep down in my past I don't think I ever got to play. Maybe I was used for making puppies and playtime was not heard of. Maybe the puppies I made for my old owners over & over again was all I knew so when I received affection from my foster family I soaked it up like a sponge. All that affection I got from my foster family I paid them back by making them laugh. When I am happy my back end does some wiggling. Well, my back end is not little so there's lots of wiggling! That made my foster family laugh. My name fits me because I'm shaped like a meatball; round and plump. When I get happy my little back end just wiggles & wiggles. I get happy when my foster family comes home from work/school and we get to play ball. I love playing with my ball and the bigger the ball the better. After our play time we snuggle on the couch. I might catch another doggie nap and you can guess it, I snore. I'm housetrained but I have a little tinkle here or there when I get excited. I like to go for walks but my breeding I have to go on short walks especially on hot days. I actually prefer to be on a couch inside with air conditioning. Who doesn't? I'm more of a couch potato watching TV. My foster family leaves a TV on for me when they go to work. Bluey is my favorite show. I like going for car rides and being with people. I haven't been around small kids or cats. I've seen other dogs and get excited. Now that I've settled in with my foster family, I learned Humans can be nice and loving. I think in my past home I didn't have that loving environment. I love hanging out on the couch with my Humans and sometimes don't like to share. I'm the only dog in my foster home and I love all the attention. My foster family thinks I would do best being the only dog in my new home or a good Doggie Leader that can help me not be selfish in the attention department if there is another dog in the home. I'm now ready for my forever family. I know there is going to be a day when I have to leave my foster family, and everyone will be sad but that's why foster family's do what they do. They make the commitment to doggies like me to trust Humans and establish a bond. If we could have a crystal ball for my future I would like to have a family just like my foster family. A couch I can hang out on. Maybe I can be the only dog, so all the attention is on me. I haven't been around small kids and let's just say no kids. I don't think the excitement is for me. The only excitement I like is when my foster Daddy watches football and he's rooting for the Chicago Bears. I like to have a quiet, calm home so I can get used to my new home. And if things get too stressful for me maybe I have a special place I can go chill. In my foster home my family set up a doggie crate. At first, I wasn't too sure of it but I have a doggie bed that I get really comfy and start sleeping right away! You can probably hear my snoring already. They say rescue dogs are broken. We are not. Sadly, a Human does things to us or neglects us, but dogs live in the moment. My life took a big change when I saw my Rescuer looking through the shelter bars and said "she will be our Treasured Gem". They looked into my eyes and felt my soul. They guessed at my appearance of how I was treated and made a promise to make it better. My Rescuers and foster family kept that promise and its now time for my forever family to continue. It might not be easy for me adjusting in your home, but I promise you this: I will make you laugh with my snorting, snores and cute underbite. I hope when you come meet me, I can make you laugh and then of course you are going to fall in love with me. It all starts with you filling out an adoption application so we can start our friendship. Love, Meatball Meatballis located in our foster home in Romeoville. To meet this sweetie, please complete an adoption application at: https://treasuredanimalrescueinc.org/application-dog-adoption/ Sorry, Treasured Animal Rescue does not adopt out of the State of Illinois Thank you for choosing to adopt! Story
This handsome guy is Grover. He is a 2 year old boxer mix. He is a big boy weighing in at 70 pounds. This guy has had a bit of a rough start. He came into Rover Rescue with an injury to his knee. While waiting for surgery he injured his other knee. He has a long road to recovery, but will eventually be able to lead a normal life. He recently had a TPLO to fix one of his knees. He has been doing great with recovery. He does have exercises that need to be done to help strengthen his knee. He will need the same surgery on his other knee, which Rover Rescue will pay for as long as our vet is used. Grover also has some behavioral issues we have been working through. He has had some resource guarding over rawhides. We have worked with him and he is doing well, but he will need an adult only home. He also needs a dog savvy home because he can be very strong willed. He needs rules and structure in his life. We do have a trainer willing to help work with him once he is adopted. He has come a long way during his time with Rover Rescue. He will make a great companion with some work. Grover is crate trained and goes in willingly when his family goes to work and at bed time. He does get sad when his family leaves though and can get vocal sometimes. Due to this he would probably not do well with apartment life. Grover can be dog selective. He is living with two 25 pound dogs and does well with them, but probably should not be with anything smaller as he does not realize his size. He will need slow introductions and would do best with a submissive female dog. He would do great as an only dog as well. He should not go to a home with cats or other small animals. Grover loves car rides and going on walks. Once healed from his surgeries he will make a great adventure buddy. He can get strong on leash, but does really well with his gentle leader. We have been doing a lot of walks in the neighborhood to help strengthen his knee. Grover loves to play with toys. He will bring them to you to throw and loves tug. We haven’t been able to play rough, but he still loves having the toys around. Once he has gotten his energy out he is a snuggle bug. He loves to be on the couch by his people, but is currently having to stay on the floor until he is fully healed from both surgeries. He does like his comfy dog beds. Sometimes he will come and lay by my feet too. He has a goofy side that tends to come out too the more comfortable he gets. Grover is going to need some work, but he is worth it. He will make a great family member for the right family. If you would like to meet him, please call Annie at 815-685-0746. His adoption fee is $225. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive

Story
Abel is a tall 2 year boxer mix, with long soft ears. He is good with other dogs and people. He enjoys playing with his foster sister, Daisy, especially after his morning walk and breakfast. He loves to cuddle on the couch with us, lays his head in our lap, and has us pet him all over. Although he is crate trained, it’s not his favorite place to be. We need to encourage (but NOT drag) him to go into his crate each night. Although Abel has had a few urinary accidents in our home, we feel it’s due to us adjusting to his needs. When we take him for walks, he has inconsistent leash manners. He is altered and up to date on shots. If you would like to meet Abel, please call Teri at 630-897-7454. The adoption fee is $225. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive
