Story
Goldie is my babe, she Lost her sister March 27th...she was 15 yrs old & pictured with Goldie. Goldie continues to mourn and just turning 4 in April 2024, she is a big babe, she thinks she's a poodle...she is always happy, loves to play, loves the park, she is not an outside dog; , nor is she caged, she is very smart; house broken and can spell...lol..she can! I've recently went thru a horrible experience and am unable to keep her until I find safe housing! I can pay for her food and toys, for a while... She cannot be held outside, nor has she ever been chained down or chained to anything, except when she's going for walks; she has NEVER been in an altercation with another dog, not even her older sister, she loves chicken, yogurt, vegetables and dog treats! She truly a big babe and she wants all the attention... She loves hugs and cuddling.... Youll see, truly amazing 😘 I just expect the new home to love and care for her

Story
Carmelo is a great asset to any home. She’s been spoiled since day one; the only issue with raising her currently is my high work demands and me currently getting my MSW. Nonetheless, she’s love cuddles, friendly with children, receptive to coaching with plenty of treats of course and somewhat house trained, as she’s still a puppy. She can do the current commands sit and lay.. She’s a burst of love and energy but that’s expected she fills any room with light. She’s protective loving and an overall sweet puppy.

Story
ABOUT DIOR Dior is a 2 year old terrier mix that loves her friends! Dior came to HAP in January, when she was found wandering as a stray in Wilmington. We were able to find her owner, but, sadly, they never came to reclaim her. Dior is confused to be here, but she is always sweet with our staff and volunteers. Dior is not a huge fan of other dogs, which has made the shelter environment extra stressful for her. She has been overlooked by adopters for her kennel presence, often seen barking or jumping. However, once she is out of her kennel and away from all the noise, she melts into an affectionate and goofy girl. Dior recently spent the day outside of the shelter, through HAP's Doggy Day Out program, where her true personality shined! Dior enjoys car rides and sprawling out in the backseat. She LOVED having a fenced yard to run around and get her zoomies out. Whether she is playing tug with you or tossing toys around on her own, she is super playful! After some exercise, she can be found leaning into the nearest person to soak up some love. She made a visit to our friends at Riverfront Pets to pick out a toy and some snacks, before heading back to the shelter. By the end of the day, Dior was snoozing away in her kennel, happy to have had such a fun and relaxing day! While Dior is seeking a home without other pets, she has previously lived with children and did well! She would likely do best with dog-savvy kids, as she has an energetic, silly playstyle! **Dior would need to be the only pet in your home. If you are interested in adopting Dior, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! Story
ABOUT ZOEY This lady is a very, very sweet girl. Zoey is a 5.5 year old boxer mix that is sure to melt her way into your heart and lap! She came to HAP when her owner could no longer care for her. Understandably, she was really depressed her first few days in the shelter, often found shaking in her kennel. She has since opened up, showing us how affectionate and smart she is. Zoey knows tons of commands, including 'sit', 'sit pretty', 'down', 'stand', and knows gives you both of her paws. She is very laid-back and walks beautifully with a harness. She enjoys her walks and loves to sniff everything! If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire!
