Story
Who we mostly call Baby San will be two years old on February 4th, 2025. She was the only female born in a litter of 7 puppies. San is very intelligent, curious, joyful, loving, athletic, spirited and bossy! She has lots of energy and loves to run, hike and explore. She loves playing with other dogs. She’s grown up since birth in an environment that has allowed her to socialize with many other dogs. San has worked as a therapy dog to children through organizations centered around foster youth. She’s a brilliant therapy dog and loves this work. Hoping to find a home for San with humans that love to spend time outdoors who can give her the access to nature that she really needs to thrive. She’s highly intelligent and has working dog genetics and a natural desire to work for her person/people. Would highly encourage working on training skills with her. San is such a special dog. Hoping to find her the perfect family and forever home.

Story
Abby ended up at a high-kill shelter because her owner was moving. She seemed confused and depressed. The shelter volunteers quickly figured out that she was deaf. But that didn't slow Abby down. She enjoyed getting out into the shelter's play yard and interacting with other dogs. And she loved getting baths! But a deaf dog shouldn't be in the shelter for 8 months. So Outta the Cage rescued her, and she is now in a foster home enjoying her walks and waiting for her forever family. Abby is a 4-year-old bull terrier mix. She is an active girl who would do well in a home with a yard, older kids, and other calm dogs. A neighborhood walk twice a day would suit her fine. She loves to smell all the smells! And, of course, she won't be the one barking during fireworks or when your gardener comes. She's house trained, crate trained, and learning sign language. Please contact us to come and meet her. https://outtathecage.org/applications

Story
Salt A114808 and Peppa A114807 are a Bonded Pair of pups that need to be adopted together! This dynamic duo are both high energy and clever. Salt is a little older and plays a little rougher, while also being super smart and curious. Pepa is younger, smaller and goofier, with a stronger attraction to people. They are both stunning in totally different ways- Salt is a husky mix and Pepa is a bull terrier mix. Their differences are part of what makes them such a powerhouse pair- they balance each other out. Their similarities are- they’re both a bit stubborn and need training reinforcement. They’ll both need to learn to trust a new family and will test boundaries at first. They’ll both need some patience and regular exercise from their new family. They’ll also make sure that family gets regular exercise and laughs at their antics every day. Seems like a fair trade to us! No other animals please!

Story
The name Simpa means “beautiful.” We fostered Simpa for a few days and fell in love with him! He is completely house broken, never once pee or poop in the house, and he is crate trained as well and goes into his crate willingly. Unfortunately we are not experienced with any training. On top of that, Simpa is energetic and needs someone who can walk with him. He loves belly rubs, and Simpa always makes sure he puts his body next to you when cuddling. He would be great for a family who can train him.

Story
Hello, Ranger is a very sweet dog. My wife and I acquire him from a rescue in Lancaster in 2020. Ranger is 7 years old and 10 months. We have come to the very hard decision to rehome because of multiple reasons. Some of which are: we now have an infant and Ranger is not self aware when he becomes excited, and now that our baby is crawling I have to think about the safety of our child. We are looking for someone that is able to give him a lot of time and exercise. He is dog reactive, but we've had little success acclimating him to other dogs, so it is a possibility but will just take a lot of hard work and consistency. He is very stubborn, but very sweet. He is not registered, but does have a microchip. He has been an inside dog. We call him a dessert dog because he likes the heat and does not do well in cold. He would do well in a house with older children, he thinks he is a small dog but he's not so no little ones. We call him our doof.
