Story
Matt is a bit standoffish in the kennel, but warms up brilliantly once you get him out and give him a toy! He can be uncomfortable with handling sometimes, and will quickly let you know when he's not in the mood. The quickest way to win him over, of course, is through his love of toys! He's highly toy motivated and loves to play--once he's got hold of a squeaky toy, he'll jump all over people to solicit attention. OTHER PETS: Matt could possibly get along with a tolerant dog that can match his energy. He was interested in other dogs, but has a tendency to hump. It's possible that this behavior could decrease after his neuter, but it could also continue if it's a behavior based in stress or discomfort. [Likely (Must Meet First)]OWNER EXPERIENCE: Some knowledge of dog body language and behavior would be beneficial while Matt adjusts, as he can be picky about when and how he wants attention. Overall, though, he's a playful dog that would love to spend time on the couch--or running out in the yard--with his people. [Some Experience]KIDS: Matt could possible get along with kids that are knowledgable enough to understand how to interact with him and when to let him have his own space. He can be uncomfortable with some types of handling and can be possessive with some treats and bones. [Case-By-Case (Must Meet First)]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Matt LOVES to play! He's calm and keeps to himself when in a new environment, but once a squeaky toy comes into play he'll be your best friend. He'd be a great dog to run around with in the backyard or take on a walk around the block, but he also likes to hang around and rest throughout the day. [Couch Potato / Good Walking Buddy] VETERINARY CARE: [Routine]LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Positive reinforcement training will help Matt not only learn his basic cues & skills, but also help him to bond with his new owner. [Minimal]GROOMING: Because of his fur length and texture, Matt will need to be brushed routinely in order to prevent any knots or matts from forming. He could also be scheduled with a professional groomer to ensure that he stays clean and comfortable. [Routine Brushing / Professional Grooming]February 18, 2025, 6:36 pm

Story
Hello! My name is Bentley and I am very happy to be here! At first it was a little scary, new town (I was rescued in El Paso), new people and I rode in a few cars since being saved. Riding in cars? Wowza! That was an experience! I was nervous and a little afraid but once I got comfortable, I feel like I finally hit a new chapter in my life. Life now? It's just beginning. I love to lay down with my humans and get all the love I can get. Warning... I can't get enough love from you. I crave it. My foster mom says I have changed a lot and I look like a distinguished gentleman. Thats because after I got my vaccines and prevents, my hair grew longer and it is so soft and fluffy now. My humans love to run their fingers through it. Did I mention that I LOVE the attention? I am pretty sure that I'm ready to meet my furever family and live my life learning new things and having fun. In fact, I'm pawsitive!! -Cat reactive -Potty trained but marks inside. -Learning the leash. Please take me for walks. I love them! -Gets along with all sizes of dogs I am waiting!! Adopt me soon!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)
