DEUCE IS IN HIS FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS TN AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO CT ONCE HE IS ADOPTED! This is DEUCE. He is a gorgeous striped tabby. He will need a special patient person as he is still extremely shy.  With the right amount of patience, he will make a great kitty in a quiet home.  He is very food motivated.  He is not recommended for dogs or children. He would probably do best with a gentle outgoing companion to help him get out of his shell. He  is neutered, has had all age appropriate vaccines, microchip, and a confirmed NEGATIVE FIV/FeLV test.  His adoption fee of $295 also includes the transport to CT.  We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will bring her up north once she is adopted. If you are interested in adopting, please go to our website and complete an online application using this link:  https://newbeginningsanimalrescue.net/adoption-application   Once your application is received and processed you will be contacted by an NBAR Volunteer. THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING ADOPTING A RESCUED PET! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 1:30 pm

Story
Becket is a sweet wonderful 9-year-old British Shorthair who had developed peritonitis 3 years ago after stealing some spicy leftovers. He ended up hospitalized, and developed complications from anaesthesia after they inserted a feeding tube. Becket fell into a coma, spending three weeks at home unconscious and immobile. Just when it looked hopeless, he miraculously recovered and gradually was able to regain his old physical condition in the course of next six months. The problem was that our two other cats just could't adjust to Becket's new ways of interacting with them which changed very subtly in him after that medical event but which the other cats seemed to pick up on, and never seemed comfortable with him after being best pals for years. We tried our best for two years to get them to move on, and now there are no stand-offs, but daily life is still quite stressful. At this time we feel it would be best for everyone if Becket could find a home with no other cats. Dogs are fine!
