Meet Henry, a 4-year-old Cocker boy who came into rescue very neglected, scared and skinny. He is a sweet boy who craves attention. He always lived outside and has never known love or attention. His owners neglected him, abused him and made him suffer from lack of food, basic grooming, vet care and no heartworm or flea prevention. He had to have heartworm treatment because they just didn't care. The staff at this NC shelter was tipped of last year to investigate this as a cruelty case. The owners were cautioned to get this dog groomed. He was very overgrown and obviously neglected. The shelter folks went back to this home again this year to check on him. He was obviously still neglected and had a lot of matting with ears stuck to his head. After questioning them again about neglect of care, they agreed to surrender him to the shelter. To be groomed he was sedated, and then neutered. The shelter asked for rescue help due to high heartworm positive. We said yes, and they transported him to us. Here, he has had heartworm treatment, is updated on vet needs and eventually will be healthy enough to find a forever home. He will have a dental November the 27th and be re-tested for heartworm next month. He deserves a 2nd chance to experience happiness, kindness and real love.
This boy is very loving, has gained weight and craves attention. He does have some issues, one of which is reacting to dogs walking past him when crated. He is not good with being groomed and will always need a very patient groomer. He will be re-tested next month. If bloodwork shows negative, he will have a dental. He seems to prefer woman over men. Due to his past, adult home, no kids, house training help and a fenced yard is a must. Available for adoption after all of his vetting needs are done and he is healthy. Please donate to help with his care. Any amount is appreciated. CCR, P.O. Box 1050, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
When ready, his adoption fee will be $400
