Story
Atlas - Energetic, snuggly 8 month old looking for his soulmate   In his short life Atlas has been bounced around a lot. Recently, he has been learning a lot including confidence and trust in his humans. It took Atlas about a month to decompress at his current foster home so he will require patience, trust, and a lot of positive reinforcement. He has so much love to give we know it’ll be worth it! He's so eager to please his humans in the house and will need to be supervised, corrected (when necessary), and given positive reinforcement for him to be a successful dog. He response well to a confident human so an experienced owner is recommended for Atlas. Atlas will require a slow introduction to other dogs as he doesn't like them in his face right when they meet (As is common in many dogs). After 10-15 minutes, when he’s comfortable, he will initiate play.  Atlas does enjoy wrestling with his 3 foster fur siblings, however, it will take him a while to adjust to not only a new doggie friend, but also a new routine and new home environment.  He loves to chase, wrestle, and howl when he's ready to play. Atlas can get a little jealous when the other dogs try to snuggle with his foster mom, but he takes corrects well and backs off. He loves women and loves his current foster dad, but sometimes, he is fearful of other men. He has been going out in public stores and working on his confidence. He loves getting treats from new friends, so we highly encourage his new family to continue doing that for positive experiences.  Atlas has been working very hard on his manners with the resident kitty. It took him a few weeks to understand he can't play with the cat whenever he wants. He is allowing the kitty to walk around the house without trying to chase her. He will do best with a dog savy cat or a home without a kitty friend.  Atlas is also working hard on his manners! He sits and waits until the food bowl is on the ground. He is also learning sit and wait hand signals and knows lay down. He take treats nicely, but if he gets a little too excited, he knows "nice". Atlas has great recall. He is such a human pleaser that he doesn't like to go far from them. He LOVES fetch! He loved all the toys but loves playing fetch. He will bring the ball back and drop it without you needing to tell him.  crate trained but is a big fan of cuddling with his humans Potty trained but it’s common for dogs especially ones who have been bounced around to need an adjustment period so he may have initial accidents in a new home okay with kids who are calmer and let him come on his terms but with a dog that is more on the shy/scared side, he needs to build trust with everyone he meets so we recommend no kids under 8.  loves being told when hes a "good boy". If you’re interested in adopting Atlas, and are Pre-approved, please private message us, or APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!) **Atlas’s  $250 adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccines to date, heartworm test, current vet check, and microchip. ##2302886##

Meet Popsicle! 🍦 This sweet girl is a golden eyed, beautiful boxer mix, and she’s finally learning what love really feels like. Popsicle spent over two years in a neglected rural shelter before being rescued — she was just a name on a forgotten list. But even after all that time, she’s full of joy, wiggles, and affection. Now thriving in her foster home, Popsicle is gaining confidence every day. She’s goofy, playful, and so eager to be part of a family. Whether she’s trotting alongside you on an adventure or curled up by your side for a snuggle, she just wants to love and be loved. She gets along well with other dogs but she prefers to keep high value things to herself so she utilizes her kennel for high value items. Popsicle is in fact so happy she has her tail amputated due to injury from constant wagging! This girl has come so far. All she needs now is a forever home where she’ll never be overlooked again.

Story
Meet Missy, the sweetest girl with the biggest heart 💛 Missy is an absolute rockstar in her crate (seriously, 11 out of 10 good girl). Potty training is going really well too. She’s great with dogs, kids, and even has a resident cat BFF who adores her back. She’s gentle, playful, and still figuring out how to use those long legs, so expect a few adorable clumsy moments. She loves to lean right into her people and has no idea what “personal space” is… which honestly just makes her that much cuter. Missy sits politely for treats, enjoys her toys, and never turns down a tug rope session. She’s the perfect mix of sweet, silly, and snuggly 🐾💕 To apply to adopt, visit tailsofhopewi.org Please note donations using the SPONSOR ME tab on PetFinder will not go to Tails of Hope-WI.

Story
Hi, my name is Maya! I'm a 7-year-old female pitbull terrier. I am current on my vaccines, heartworm tested, spayed, and microchipped. 3 words that describe me: Affectionate, Chill, Gentle Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: Staff at CRHS say I'm the most perfect girl in the world! I don't seem to have much interest in toys, all I want is love! I'm not picky about where the love is coming from, I love people of all ages. I would groom the other dogs and cats in my previous home. Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 4 or 5/10 Housetraining Status: I am housetrained! I should do well in a home: I lived with children, cats, and dogs in my previous home and did great with them, so I should do well with all given proper introductions and time to adjust. My favorite activities are: Cuddling with my humans and getting all the affection I can get! Things I need work on are: I can be a little anxious sometimes, so I'll need an owner that can understand me and go at my pace. Any special needs: N/A Doggy day out notes: N/A Daycare Status: N/A My adoption fee is: $250 Training Requirement if applicable: N/A *If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

Story
**I am an extended stay friend at the shelter, my adoption fee has been lowered to $50 until July 6th!** Hi! My name is Zailey I am a 5-year-old, spayed Pit Bull Terrier. I am microchipped, heartworm tested and current on my vaccines. 3 words that describe me: Adorable, Adaptable, and Active Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: Zailey is a wonderful girl who has formed strong bonds with both staff and volunteers. She carries herself with grace at the shelter and is always sweet and affectionate with staff and volunteers. Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10) 7/8 Housetraining Status: Zailey is making progress with house training and just needs a little guidance and consistency to master it completely. I should do well in a home: Zailey would thrive in a home WITHOUT children or cats. She tends to do better with male dogs and could do well with the right canine companion, given a proper introduction and time to adjust. Zailey's favorite activities are spending quality time with loved ones and being involved in whatever they’re doing. She just love being part of the action! Doggy Day Out Notes: This lovely girl did great on our day out. I think today was a much needed day away from all the chaos for her. She was great in the car, never barked, and was very affectionate with gentle kisses and lots of belly rubs while we hung out. She took a great nap in a cozy chair and then was charged up to play but never got too wild or crazy. Amazing dog and she would be an amazing sdekick!" "She is such a sweet dog. She loves looking out the window on car rides, and she even rolled down the window herself at one point. She was very treat motivated and sat, laid down, and did shake for a treat. She saw a ton of people today, she did great, was very sweet and wanted all the attention. She pulls a little on leash and gets excited especially when going in the pet store but she does listen well when redirected! She is a great dog!" "Zailey did so well today! She met a couple new people. She got a little chilly when we went to get coffee so we brought her back home and she curled up on the couch and took a big nap, she was snoring :) She did great with everyone she met and loved her new toy. She was so happy to be in a home setting, didn’t have any accidents all day!" Things I need work on are: Basic Commands Any special needs: N/A My adoption fee is: $50 until July 6th since I am an extended stay friend at the shelter Training Requirement if applicable: $0 *If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal
