Story
Meet Layla !! This sweet easy going girl has had a rough life so far. She’s ready to share her love with someone who will treat her right and return that love. She was almost starved to death and was still the sweetest girl. She wants to soak up all the love and attention she can get now that she’s safe. Layla is an approx 1 year old female boxer/Pitbull Type mix. She weighs 51 pounds now and still needs to gain a few more pounds back. She is already vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. She is heartworm negative and on monthly preventions. **Waiting on better pics from her foster family but you can see how much better she’s looking already*** Layla has a fairly low energy level. She is content to lay around with a chew bone and just hang out with her people. She may become more energetic as she settles in but for now she’s very laid back. She is the sweetest dog and absolutely loves human attention. She’s done really good with her basic training. She jumps up on you but not in a knock you over kind of way, more in a she wants a hug way. She has done great with potty trained and hasn’t had any accidents while adjusting to her foster home. She does great on car rides. She is also crate trained. She does okay on a leash but still pulls a bit a times. She could use additional work on that. Layla has a motherly instinct with other dogs and kids. When there’s rough play she initially tries to intervene and stop it. She does adjust to kids playing with a little time in her new home to understand everything. She’s fostered with several other dogs but would do best with calm dogs that aren’t overly hyper or rough house a lot. She would also be fine without other dogs. She’s done great with respectful kids that can give her some time to adjust. She has not met any cats so we aren’t sure how she would do. She was starved almost to death and unfortunately now has trouble sharing food, bones, and toys with other dogs. She’s been fine sharing things with humans. We suspect she may have had to fight for what little food she could get. Her possessiveness over food items may fade or it may not. It’s best to feed her separately and give her bones etc in a separate space like her crate. Overall this girl is a big sweet heart just looking for someone to love her as much as she loves them. Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA. (She will need to be adopted within a 2 hour drive radius) 🎯🎯DO NOT APPLY if you have not asked about this dog and been approved by your landlord to have a “pitbull type” breed. Don’t assume, ask first BEFORE applying. ‼️Please message VillageDogResource@gmail.com or for faster response message the Facebook Page directly with questions or to get an application.‼️

Story
Meet Sheena! Born on January 24th, Sheena and her siblings—Prince, Wendy, Lisa, and Apollonia—came to us from Alabama. Their mother was spayed and remains with her family. Sheena is very smart; she learned to use the dog door and knows basic commands.  Here is what her foster has to say about her: Sheena is very playful. She loves toys of all kinds, cuddling with her people and going on adventures. Sheena will need time to adjust to her new home and their routines. Her future family should understand that pet ownership is a lifelong commitment, involving daily exercise, continuous training, and socialization. Remember, a good puppy is a tired puppy. If you're considering adopting Sheena, we request that you DO NOT CALL us. Instead, please complete an online application on 4 Paws Animal Rescue's website at www.4pawz.org. We verify the care of past/current pets. Our primary goal is to find the best homes for all our dogs and cats. As such, we reserve the right to approve or deny adoption applications based on determining what's in the pet's best interest. #LoveDogsForever #MixedBreed #MixedPuppy #RescuedIsTheBestBreed #Dogs #PuppiesAreACommitment #RescueDog #LoveDogs #Adopt #AdoptDontShop #Puppies

This handsome man is Roscoe! Roscoe was adopted from the NSPCA back in 2023 and was recently returned. Roscoe is described as being playful, affectionate, independent and extremely sweet. Roscoe is looking for a home with no cats and preferably no dogs however he tends to do well with female dogs on a case to case basis. Roscoe would love a home where he can lounge around and play from time to time. If you are interested in Roscoe and his story ask a member of the CARE Team about him today!

Story
Herbie is a lovable 70-pound Boxer mix with a heart full of gold. About a year old, he was found wandering the back roads of Tennessee without a collar or microchip, battling a tough case of mange. While no one has come forward to claim him, Herbie is now looking for his forever family! His skin is healing beautifully, and his sweet, curious nature shines through more each day. ‍&#226&#153&#130&#239&#184&#143 Herbie enjoys his daily walks and is getting better at leash manners. He’s also learning to curb his excitement when greeting people! He’s great with other dogs and, after playtime, is happy to sit quietly by your side. He hasn’t been tested with cats or kids yet, but we think his gentle personality would be a great match for the right home! Critter Cavalry Rescue is a Middle Tennessee-based 501(c)(3) that travels to the Northeast states weekly, helping high-risk homeless animals like Herbie find loving homes. For more info on our mission, adoption fees, and drop-off points, visit us at CritterCavalry.com! &#226&#156&#168 Could your family be the one Herbie's been waiting for? &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to request an adoption application.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.November 11, 2024, 7:28 pm
