Story
Meet Faye and Boomer! If you are looking for two peas in a pod, then look no further! These two were an owner surrender at no fault of their own. Their previous owner loved them so much but due to unexpected circumstances they came here. Boomer was also adopted through our shelter back in 2021 when he was around 3 years old which makes him to be around 6 years old. He is a boxer mix who is already neutered. These guys have been together for 3ish years, and we would hate to have to seperate them. They both are super sweet Faye in more open than Boomer, but he does open up once he gets comfortable. Boomer will look for Faye once they do seperate and it just breaks our hearts. They both are really great dogs that hope they can find a home together. If interested in Faye and Boomer, the shelter is open Monday-Friday from 10am-3pm staff pending or you can call the shelter at 804-520-9397 ext. 5 and set up an appointment!

Story
Herbie is a lovable 70-pound Boxer mix with a heart full of gold. About a year old, he was found wandering the back roads of Tennessee without a collar or microchip, battling a tough case of mange. While no one has come forward to claim him, Herbie is now looking for his forever family! His skin is healing beautifully, and his sweet, curious nature shines through more each day. ‍&#226&#153&#130&#239&#184&#143 Herbie enjoys his daily walks and is getting better at leash manners. He’s also learning to curb his excitement when greeting people! He’s great with other dogs and, after playtime, is happy to sit quietly by your side. He hasn’t been tested with cats or kids yet, but we think his gentle personality would be a great match for the right home! Critter Cavalry Rescue is a Middle Tennessee-based 501(c)(3) that travels to the Northeast states weekly, helping high-risk homeless animals like Herbie find loving homes. For more info on our mission, adoption fees, and drop-off points, visit us at CritterCavalry.com! &#226&#156&#168 Could your family be the one Herbie's been waiting for? &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to request an adoption application.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.November 11, 2024, 7:28 pm

Story
When people think of Snow, they think cold. With this Snow, picture warmth, love, and cuddles. This five year old, just shy of fifty pound sweetheart is all about her people. She has bursts of play but is mainly a calm dog. She is all about being by her person and wanting the love. Now, for men, some she loves and some she has to take a minute to relax around.  Snow currently lives with an 80 pound male and a 23 pound female companion. She can be a sassy thing and wants what she wants - a tiny bit of a diva in there. She has met other playful dogs and done well. She also has hung out with another 100 pound male lab. Took her a second to realize he was a lover not a fighter but they are now fast friends. Snow needs a six foot privacy fence for her backyard space. Now who wants Snow to be your cuddle buddy for many years to come! If you are interested in adopting Snow, please fill out an application today!November 5, 2024, 10:45 pm

Story
Here's Lady, a full-throttle bundle of joy who thinks life is one big game of fetch. Got a ball or stick? She's ready to chase anything at any time. A fenced yard would be her version of heaven, where she can run free, sniff everything, and work off her playful energy. When she's not running circles around you, Lady's all about the cuddles. She's a people-loving machine and will happily sit by you looking up at you with her "I'm adorable, give me some loving" eyes. She knows her commands, but is still working on doggie manners. Lady would prefer to have her human's full attention, so no other dogs or cats around, please. If you're looking for a playful, affectionate, and totally lovable companion who will bring joy, excitement, and lots of tail wags to your life, Lady's your girl! Adopters have 30 days of free access to 1-on-1 text and email support from trainers at Petcademy to help make every pet's transition into their new home as smooth as possible. All dogs available for adoption have been spayed/neutered, microchipped and are current on all vaccinations. Please email dogs@henricohumane.org for more information.

Story
Hi there, I'm Vega, a 6-year-old, 70 pound, brindle and white boxer. I'm looking for a forever home with someone who can keep up with me and love me unconditionally. I'm an extremely loving, smart and adventurous boy, who enjoys playing, running, and exploring. I'm also very smart and eager to please, especially if you have some treats for me. I'm neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative, so I'm ready to go whenever you are. I have a ton of drive which makes me super fun to work with and my foster mom says I’d be amazing at dog sports of any kind because of how much I like to work. My foster mom can explain more but I need a firm owner who will work me and take me on adventures because I am no couch potato. I am dog selective needing slow intros to other dogs. I should not be around cats or other small animals because of my high prey drive. I do well with kids but best with older kids because of my size and energy. I can be crate reactive and have some barrier frustration, but I’ve been learning to improve my behavior here and am doing so much better. I also need more work on leash training, as I pull hard. Devices like gentle leaders may help me learn how to walk better on leash. I have a lot of love to give. I'm very passionate and loyal to anyone I bond with. I bond quickly and can’t wait to make friends with you! I love being petted and cuddled. I'm a relatively quiet pup, and I calm well when my exercise needs are met. I'm being fostered in Hampton Roads, VA but I can be transported out of state if you're the one for me. So, what do you say? Are you ready to meet your new best friend? I'm waiting for you. Fill out an application today and we will get the process started! *Must be 21 or older to apply.

Story
Introducing Jess, a young and playful girl with lots of love to give! Jess is a 1.5 year old girl who is affectionate and loves to play. She loves people, and seems to want to love all the dogs as well, although she would benefit from some socialization with other pups, as well as some extra help with her basic manners. Jess is young and has the energy to match; she's looking for an active home that can give the exercise, play and continued training she needs! Due to Jess's energetic nature, she would do best in a home without cats. Are you ready to take on this playful pup? She'd make a great addition to any home. If you're interested in our sweet Jess, please come by the shelter today or send an email to adoptpetersburg@gmail.com with "Jesse" in the subject line.
