Story
Bubba is a “teen” rescue from southwest Virginia.  As the case with many dogs that are worthy of a good home, he almost ran out of time until he came to northern Virginia to find his new home! Bubba is a loving dog that enjoys a lot of attention, the more pets the better.  He is also apt to hug back, and this can be quite charming.  He really wants to be a 45# lap dog!  He is good around any human and dog, willing to meet all.  He may be a little cautious at first, but then just wants to play upon a few good sniffs!  He is a hound and has a natural prey drive so he would be a challenge in a house with cats or other little critters.  Due to this, he is working hard on walking at “heel” and it is coming along well.  He does love his long walks!  He jumps at the chance at a fun walk… especially if he meets someone new along the way. He is crate trained and quiet in a crate.  He goes in the crate willingly on his own and with a few training treats he will go in when you want him to.   Bubba sleeps through the night with no whining or accidents.  He is also housebroken with no accidents. He would enjoy having another dog his new home.  He is currently learning “sit”, “where is it?”, and “come”.  Bubba would love a home where he has the stimulation of adequate play/walk/training times and will thrive and be a great dog!Accuracy is not guaranteed; however, information provided is accurate to the best of our knowledge.  For more information on the pet, please send an email to info@aforeverhome.org February 8, 2025, 10:11 am

Allow me to introduce Vader, a delightful 4-month-old terrier mix who is nothing short of a treasure! ❤️ This charming little pup has captured the hearts of everyone he meets, including his foster mom, who was so impressed by his exceptional behavior that she asked us three times if we were sure he was a puppy 😂 Vader's calm and gentle demeanor sets him apart, making him an absolute joy to be around. Vader is a social butterfly! He recently had the opportunity to meet Santa, and instead of being shy, he spread happiness by giving kisses to all the other dogs he encountered on the way back to the event area. His friendly demeanor makes him a hit with everyone, and it’s clear that he loves making new friends. Not only is Vader charming, but he’s also incredibly well-mannered. He doesn't bark, which is a huge plus for anyone looking for a peaceful companion. He’s already house trained, saving you the stress of potty training, and he walks beautifully on a leash, making outdoor adventures a breeze. Whether it’s a stroll around the neighborhood or a hike in the woods, Vader is ready to join you every step of the way. Vader is also a fan of car rides and has already experienced the joy of trips to the lake. His adventurous spirit makes him the perfect companion for families who enjoy exploring the great outdoors. And speaking of family, he gets along wonderfully with kids, cats, and other dogs. His friendly and adaptable personality means he can seamlessly integrate into a loving home, making him an ideal pet for families of all shapes and sizes. Vader is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and on the lookout for his forever home, where he can share his love and joy with a family who will cherish him. If you're searching for a loyal companion who brings happiness and fun into everyday life, look no further than Vader! ❤️ RPACI is a non profit rescue, and currently possess our 501C3 to operate as such. Story
We named her Promise because we had no more room on the transport to bring her and we told her that we would come back for her. We kept our word - and we are so glad we did. She had puppies at some point before she was dumped at the poor rural shelter, but she did not come with any of her puppies. This alone must have been awful for her to be separated from her pups. She was very shut down when we got her but now that she is in a foster home she is coming out of her shell and wants to play with the fosters other dogs. And she plays like a boxer which is so cute! Her foster mom says of Promise that 'she is super cute and friendly and just wants to be around me and my son.' She has very good house manners, ,does not chew, is great in a crate and is house broken. We listed older children because she seems scared of small children. We have told Promise that life will be very different from this point on she will have a home with someone who will love her and be kind to her. This is another promise we have made to this sweet dog. If you are interested in Promise, and helping us keep our promises to her, please let us know. Thank you for your interest in Promise! Kris is a volunteer favorite and even has his own HART fan club! If you have a rubber ball and will play fetch with him, he will be your BFF. In his foster home, he has a mellow and chill temperament and is happy with a comfy dog bed and a ball or bone to chew. He is not destructive and would love to be your couch buddy. He would prefer to be the only dog in the home. Kris loves to go for walks and can help you reach your 10,000 steps a day goal, especially during 'off peak' hours when there are not a lot of other dogs around. He loves to walk and is a good walker with a harness but would also really just love a a nice, fenced in backyard all to his own. Who is ready for a game of fetch? Adopt Kris! KNOWN WITH CATS: We're not sure how Mosby is with cats. Let us know if you'd like us to find out! He can be left alone and will NOT be destructive in the house. KNOWN LIKES: Affection, toys, hanging out in his home KNOWN DISLIKES: Loud and unexpected noises/movements ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Mosby is a five-year-old boxer mix who came to HT after his family moved abroad. Regrettably, they were unable to bring him along, which caused them great sorrow. Mosby takes pleasure in going for walks, particularly enjoying leisurely jogs. He generally gets along with other dogs, although he can be somewhat selective in his interactions. His preferred activities include playing tug of war and fetch, and he has a fondness for squeaky toys. He also enjoys gazing out the window and basking in the sunlight. He loves to relax on the couch next to his human companions, often opting to lie on top of them. Interestingly, Mosby appears to be oblivious to his size, acting as if he is a chihuahua that can comfortably perch on his owner. When it is time for meals, Mosby patiently sits and waits for his food, ensuring that not a single crumb is left behind. While his foster enjoyed her dinner, Mosby remained by her side, demonstrating remarkable restraint by not jumping on the table or begging. He takes great pleasure in lounging on the couch, receiving belly rubs, showering his humans with affection, and snuggling. At night, he relishes the opportunity to cuddle with his foster, often taking the chance to sleep on the bed if allowed. I’m Camo! And I’m gonna blend right in with your family! It’s only been a short time with my foster, but I am settling in really well. My foster home has dogs, and we are already great friends! I don’t need to go home with another dog, but I can. I can go to a lot of homes, either as an only dog or with lots of dog friends, to a first time pawrent or experienced adopter, or to a home with a lot of different activity levels! If you’re thinking “will Camo blend into my family?” The answer is yes! I’m a really smart guy. In this short time I am already house trained and crate trained! I quickly learned sit and come, and I learned two new tricks in less than two hours! But if you want to find out which tricks you will have to meet me and let me show you how good I am at them. I love it when I can make my people happy. I am working on not jumping on new people when I meet them, but it's hard because I'm really excited to make new friends. But sometimes I get a little overexcited around food in loud and busy environments. Learning new tricks is fun, but do you know what I really love? Toys! I love squeaky toys, balls, and really love squeaky balls! My foster says I am super friendly and playful, and who am I to disagree? But you should find out for yourself. Email my friend Joshua at JoshuaHTRescue@gmail.com to meet me! Foster Homes Needed! Do you have time and room in your life for a foster dog? http://www.muttloverescue.org/foster.html *****************   Holly is a cute, affectionate and active young dog, look at those ears !  She doesn't miss anything.  She loves people, but should ideally only live with adults and older children due to her activity level.   She is dog selective in a defensive way, she becomes uneasy when an unknown dog approaches.  Her new owner(s) would ideally be experienced with bully breed dogs. She is very active and will need an owner(s) who can give her enough exercise to wear her out, like a runner !!    She needs a securely fenced yard with a 6 ft privacy fence, as she likes to leap and jump in her play.  She is about 4 yrs old and 35 lbs, a great snuggle size; she's also good on a leash.  She's been fully vetted, including spay, vaccines and deworming.  She's very playful and loves her toys including old buckets, balls, kongs, antlers, beef bones and anything that can be thrown or she can kick around.  She's sweet and playful, and will make a great pet for the right person.    Please contact Dee at K9rescueva@gmail.com with any questions, and to meet this sweet girl.      **BECAUSE OF OUR REQUIREMENT FOR A HOME VISIT, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO ADOPT TO HOMES IN THE NORTHERN VA / MARYLAND / DC METRO AREA** We have adoption events EVERY SATURDAY from 12-3 p.m. Please note that not all dogs can attend every event, so if you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please complete a no-obligation application on our website at http://www.muttloverescue.org/application.html OR write to adopt@muttloverescue.org. Foster Homes Needed! Do you have time and room in your life for a foster dog? http://www.muttloverescue.org/foster.html *****************   Diamond is a beautiful, sweet blue Bully Girl who is a sweetheart, she is around 5.5 years old and weighs 60 lbs.  She has had too many litters in her short life, but now she's on the mend.  She’s such a sweet, humble girl. It was hard to get good pics because she just wanted to snuggle.  She carries her toys around thinking they are her babies.  Diamond is quiet and reserved.  She would be best as an only pet as she has tons of love to give her family. She’d be a great dog for a solo, retired or family.  She fits all bills!    Ask for her video.  She would thrive in a home with a fenced in yard.  She is people focused and is best not having to be leash-walked and can just relax in her kingdom with her people.  She is dog reactive a life where she can focus on her people and just give them all the love in the world for years to come.  She just needs a quiet home with her people and she will be the Diamond she was meant to be. Ask for her videos!  Email Dee at  k9rescueva@gmail.com , with questions and to schedule a meeting.
