Story
Annabelle's story: Annabelle was surrendered to us because her previous owner got an active duty call and had to move overseas. After being with her previous owner for 5 years, coming to a shelter, especially at an older age is hard. We feel for Annabelle, and are hoping we can find a home for her that can love her till the end of her days.  Annabelle loves to be around people! She would be perfectly content to sit on the couch with someone all day! Annabelle adores pets and frozen peanut butter Kongs. She does not need a lot of exercise as she is a senior, but still enjoys walks.  Are you the perfect forever home for Annabelle? (We make decisions regarding the fencing requirement on a dog-by-dog basis, according to the dog's exercise needs and energy level.)  Stafford SPCA does not condone the exclusive use of invisible fencing.   We reserve the right to deny placement of puppies and kittens into homes with children under 5 years old. Story
We named her Promise because we had no more room on the transport to bring her and we told her that we would come back for her. We kept our word - and we are so glad we did. She had puppies at some point before she was dumped at the poor rural shelter, but she did not come with any of her puppies. This alone must have been awful for her to be separated from her pups. She was very shut down when we got her but now that she is in a foster home she is coming out of her shell and wants to play with the fosters other dogs. And she plays like a boxer which is so cute! Her foster mom says of Promise that 'she is super cute and friendly and just wants to be around me and my son.' She has very good house manners, ,does not chew, is great in a crate and is house broken. We listed older children because she seems scared of small children. We have told Promise that life will be very different from this point on she will have a home with someone who will love her and be kind to her. This is another promise we have made to this sweet dog. If you are interested in Promise, and helping us keep our promises to her, please let us know. Thank you for your interest in Promise! Please visit www.hart90.org/petdetail.aspx?ID=16323 to get the most up-to-date and accurate information on this pet, to email the contact person listed for more information and how to meet Promise, or to submit an online application. Story
Kris is a volunteer favorite and even has his own HART fan club! If you have a rubber ball and will play fetch with him, he will be your BFF. In his foster home, he has a mellow and chill temperament and is happy with a comfy dog bed and a ball or bone to chew. He is not destructive and would love to be your couch buddy. He would prefer to be the only dog in the home. Kris loves to go for walks and can help you reach your 10,000 steps a day goal, especially during 'off peak' hours when there are not a lot of other dogs around. He loves to walk and is a good walker with a harness but would also really just love a a nice, fenced in backyard all to his own. Who is ready for a game of fetch? Adopt Kris! Story
PLEASE VISIT THIS WEBSITE TO FIND THE ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE: http://www.homewardtrails.org/adopt-a-pet/adoption-forms/ HOW TO MEET THIS ANIMAL: LOCATION: Foster home ADOPTION FEE: $0 His adoption fee is WAIVED as he was sponsored by a loving family. The fee INCLUDES spay/neuter and microchip. **Ask me about our many adoption benefits that include free exams, pet insurance, training and other discounts! ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 65 lbs KNOWN WITH DOGS: Mosby would prefer to be the only dog in his home so he can bask in your love and attention. He is dog selective and enjoys playing. KNOWN WITH CATS: We're not sure how Mosby is with cats. Let us know if you'd like us to find out! KNOWN WITH KIDS: Mosby has done well with kids but he doesn't quite know his size and might knock a little one over (unintentionally!) KNOWN COMMANDS: Sit, leave it, wait, come, paw KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: Mosby is both crate and house trained; however, he would rather have access to the house than be in his crate. He can be left alone and will NOT be destructive in the house. KNOWN LIKES: Affection, toys, hanging out in his home KNOWN DISLIKES: Loud and unexpected noises/movements ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Mosby is a five-year-old boxer mix who came to HT after his family moved abroad. Regrettably, they were unable to bring him along, which caused them great sorrow. Mosby takes pleasure in going for walks, particularly enjoying leisurely jogs. He generally gets along with other dogs, although he can be somewhat selective in his interactions. His preferred activities include playing tug of war and fetch, and he has a fondness for squeaky toys. He also enjoys gazing out the window and basking in the sunlight. He loves to relax on the couch next to his human companions, often opting to lie on top of them. Interestingly, Mosby appears to be oblivious to his size, acting as if he is a chihuahua that can comfortably perch on his owner. When it is time for meals, Mosby patiently sits and waits for his food, ensuring that not a single crumb is left behind. While his foster enjoyed her dinner, Mosby remained by her side, demonstrating remarkable restraint by not jumping on the table or begging. He takes great pleasure in lounging on the couch, receiving belly rubs, showering his humans with affection, and snuggling. At night, he relishes the opportunity to cuddle with his foster, often taking the chance to sleep on the bed if allowed.
