Story
Grell is very loving and clingy, will sleep all night in a crate without making a peep.  Does well with cats and dogs.  Prefers a home without small kids under age of 10.  Loves toys and plays fetch like a champ.  Very smart, knows sit, down and paw.  Takes treats super gently.  Housebroken.   This pet is eligible for the PETS FOR PATRIOTS adoption program. Adoption Process If you are ready to meet the pet, please fill out an online adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your internet browser: https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/10666/generic Once your application is submitted, we will contact the vet reference provided. If you do not yet have a vet, please provide three personal references – these could be family and friends who can attest to your pet parenting skills. A volunteer will schedule a phone interview with you. The interview and application help our fosters find their forever home by ensuring a good match.   The Louisa Humane Society does not have a brick and mortar facility, so all of our pets are in foster care. Once approved, the foster parent will reach out to arrange a visit. The foster family can tell you all about her likes, dislikes, and little quirks.  The application and visit do not oblige you to adopt, but if you’re ready to take the pet home as your furry forever friend, the adoption fee is $150. ##2170216##

Story
Bruiser is 4 yr old male boxer, very loving, loyal and compassionate dog! He is house trained and crate trained. He is great with children. He doesn’t do well with other male dogs but is fine with female dogs. Unknown if he is okay with cats. Bruiser requires a lot of attention and due to me being law enforcement working shift work, I just don’t have the time for him being gone from home 14 hrs a day. Please find it in your heart to take this sweet boy as I have not had any luck finding a new home for him.

Story
Annabelle's story: Annabelle was surrendered to us because her previous owner got an active duty call and had to move overseas. After being with her previous owner for 5 years, coming to a shelter, especially at an older age is hard. We feel for Annabelle, and are hoping we can find a home for her that can love her till the end of her days.  Annabelle loves to be around people! She would be perfectly content to sit on the couch with someone all day! Annabelle adores pets and frozen peanut butter Kongs. She does not need a lot of exercise as she is a senior, but still enjoys walks.  Are you the perfect forever home for Annabelle? (We make decisions regarding the fencing requirement on a dog-by-dog basis, according to the dog's exercise needs and energy level.)  Stafford SPCA does not condone the exclusive use of invisible fencing.   We reserve the right to deny placement of puppies and kittens into homes with children under 5 years old. Rascal thrives with female dogs and cats but can be selective with male dogs. He’s great with kids, medium-energy, and loves cuddles. With a striking white and brown coat, Rascal is house-trained and up-to-date on shots. While he isn’t crate-trained, he’s a quiet and affectionate companion looking for a loving family to call his own. Could that be you? ❤️

Story
Beautiful Ginger is a 2-3 year old boxer mix with the energy to match. She loves to play with her toys and run around in the yard. She will be a great family dog with an active family, and we feel she would do well with kids. She does get a little mouthy when over stimulated. She was surrendered with a male dog that she lived with due to her owner passing away. Due to this we don't have any history of her life before. We are unsure of how she is with cats, and due to her high energy, as we always say SUPER SLOW introductions, time and patience is the best way to navigate learning if Ginger and cats can safely coexist. She is dog selective and will do best with a calmer dog that respects her space and is able to give her the appropriate corrections on their personal space. She is a very sweet and loving lady. She also seems to ride well in the car. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. Interested in adopting? Story
New baby Diesel is the cutest boy! He is around 10 months old and has lived with kids and smaller dogs. A dog test will be required if you already have a pup of your own. We are unsure of him and cats but our favorite thing to say is super slow introductions and patience is the best way to go! He is house trained and crate trained. He will benefit from usual puppy training as he is still young and is not aware of the appropriate behaviors and boundaries he should have. Training should be pretty easy as he is very treat motivated! He is still very much a puppy and can be a little nippy when he gets excited. He walks well on leash and will benefit from walkies and hikes to help keep him socialized in different environments and with people. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines.
