He’s super smart and eager to please, already knowing his basics like sit, stay, and down, and he walks nicely on leash. Sherbet is a 2 year old boxer and pit bull mix who arrived at the shelter after living his life on a chain. He came to us underweight with visible scars from fly strike, yet despite everything he has endured, he has a bright, hopeful spirit and a deep desire for connection. Sherbet is energetic and playful and loves any opportunity to stretch his legs and enjoy freedom. Once he gets his energy out, he leans in for affection and clearly wants to build a bond with the people around him. With consistent care and structure, he is already showing how much potential he has to grow into a loving companion. At this time, Sherbet is still learning to feel comfortable around other dogs, especially while on leash. We are working with him on confidence building and positive exposure so that he can better understand how to navigate these interactions. Hello my name is Kenely and I am a rescue with my current home. I was found by the spca on the side of the road with no information and very scarred 8 years ago. I have since been slowly socializing and learning to trust again. I’m now great with people and will become your best friend with a good scratch. I love to lean gently against my people to show affection and follow around to keep up with everything. Sadly my current home and mom are having a hard time keeping up with me because of a health decline with mom and because I don’t feel comfortable around the other residents (the cats) so after a lot of time and trying to make it work mom thinks it’s best I go to a home to be able to have my needs met and get the love and care I deserve. Some other things to know about me I need my nails clipped every 6 weeks. I get scared sometimes around men with hats or anyone with a long stick like object due to my past mom thinks. etey is looking for his forever home!!!! Could that be you?? He is around 9-10 months old Petey was adopted, but unfortunately, he was brought back at no fault of his own. His new owner had absolutely nothing but great things to say about Petey. He said that Petey was great in the house, no accidents, didn't chew anything up even when they would leave him for 3 to 4 hours out by himself. He said Petey loves playing with his rope toy with knots in it. He was great on his walks, and he loves to cuddle with you in bed. Unfortunately, there was a misunderstanding between the new owner and landlord, he is allowed to have a dog, just not one that has pitbull in him. Even though Petey was on his best behavior, he was asked to leave. Petey is such a sweet boy, he seems to like dogs that are more on the calmer side, not the crazy hyper in your face kind of dogs. I did walk him in the cat room, and even though he was curious, he was not overly interested in them, but if you have a cat in the home, we can test him again when you come meet him. If you have another dog in the home, a meet and greet is required. Let get this handsome boy back out of the shelter and in his forever home. I

Meet Diablo! This handsome boy has been here with us at the shelter since 8/26/2024 that is 425 days, and has had no real interest so it is time we do a refresh and reintroduce like he is new! He was a stray that was never claimed so we do not know much about his background but what we do know about him is that he will love and protect you from any danger. He will require multiple meet and greets to be able to get fully acquainted and comfortable with his new potential family. He is not great with meeting new people until you earn his trust but with patience and a lot of yummy treats he does get there. He loves everyone at the shelter and gets so excited, does a little bunny hop prance dance and is a love bug to all of us. He loves his but scratches, to run around and play and likes to pretend he is a seal with no ears. He is not great with quick sudden movements especially near his face so we would suggest no homes with small children. He has been good with dogs at the shelter especially the ladies but we do require meet and greets if another dog resides in the home. Diablo all in all is such a good boy he just needs a chance and a new owner to put in the work with him and he will turn into your protector and your best friend.
