To learn more about our upcoming events and to see which event he will be attending, please visit our event page at https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/ (*please note that the specific event pages are typically updated on Fridays with information on which dogs will be attending which events*) Hi! I'm King. I am loving, loyal, and - ok, you made me say it - very handsome. Oh, and did I mention that I am looking for a best friend to adopt me? I like leash walks, especially in calm and quiet spaces where we can spend some quality time together without the crowds. But, I may get distracted by all of the wonderful smells because I really do need to put my nose on everything to explore the wonders of the world. Not only am I curious, I am up for a challenge! I like to run across streams, jump on logs, and hike the trails. I have lots of energy so will be sure to help keep up with your exercise plan. I even like to get in a jog from time to time. And, not to brag, but I am pretty smart. But, for the sake of all those delicious treats, I will pretend that it takes me time to master new tricks and skills. One more thing to tell you. I like to talk when I play. I hope you will come to meet me so we can play together forever, just you and me!

To learn more about Vladimir, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org. Vladimir will be attending one of our adoption events coming up this weekend! To learn more about our upcoming events and to see which event he will be attending, please visit our event page at https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/. (*Please note that the specific event pages are typically updated on Fridays with information on which dogs will be attending each event.*) Vladimir is just about the most lovable, wiggly guy you’ll ever meet! This beautiful brindled pup has a heart full of gold and a personality that’s sure to brighten your day! He’s the definition of friendly, always greeting everyone he meets with plenty of love, sloppy kisses, and an endlessly wagging tail. This sweet boy absolutely loves treats, and he’s always ready to enjoy a snack or two (or three!). He’s been underweight since he arrived but is on his way to gaining some healthy pounds. With a little extra love and good food, Vladimir is sure to thrive! He is very treat-motivated, making it easy to continue his training and learn basic puppy manners! A true goofball, all Vladimir really wants is some love, attention, and PLENTY of chew toys. Oh, and did we mention treats? He’s incredibly affectionate and just wants to be by your side. On a leash, he is working on building his confidence and will look to you for reassurance (still figuring out stairs). He really loves to play and is still learning from other dogs in daycare about how to grow into his teenage puppy manners. He's willing to learn and get taught new playtime rules by his doggy friends. He's pretty social, but still learning the ropes. He has a lot of energy and is trying to find his inner peace. But who's to blame him, he's only just a happy little dude learning how to channel his excitement! Vladimir has so much pep in his step and a zest for life that’s contagious! He would love an active family that will be his sidekick for life!

We haven't seen Florence with cats or kids, but she can be tested!   Currently Living at:  Texas shelter; needs a forever home to escape!   Florence is Looking For:    Her forever family! As a young puppy, she landed in a shelter so far south in Texas, it's only 30 miles from the Mexican border - and the shelter routinely has 1200+ animals in its care. Despite having such an enormous number to care for, shelter staff do an amazing job with all their dogs and Florence is a great, loving dog and wonderful in playgroup with other dogs - she has been so well socialized with other dogs! Unfortunately, there is a massively skewed ratio of available homes to dogs in the area - so her only hope of getting a home is out of state. Her forever home! This sweetie has all that young-dog energy and is eager to get her own humans for long sniffy walks, romps in the park, and lots of adventures. Making pup pals along the way is on her wish list too, along with getting to go to dog school so she can show how super smart is. But most of all, she just wants to be safe and loved, to know where she belongs - and upon whom to bestow all her adoring gazes, happy tail wags, and loyal companionship.   What My Foster Says About Me: There are also way more dogs in that shelter than there are available fosters in the DC area. This section cannot be completed until she gets up here. If you'd like to foster or adopt her - see below! Meet Harry, the sweetest, goofiest, and most lovable boy! Harry is looking for an active forever home where he can live like a prince! Harry loves walks and has done very well on a leash, stopping for intervals, and sticking with you. Although Harry will need lots of exercise, he has had a soft, cuddly side to him that will just melt your heart. He loves burying his head into you, showing you his version of a hug, with all the love and affection you could ask for! Be prepared for him to show you he's a lap dog. Harry's favorite game is fetch, but he is not all too picky with his toys, he loves them all! The games you play, he will surely participate. His zest for life can overwhelm small children, so a home with kids 12+ would be best for Harry. He does well with dogs, and has thoroughly enjoyed playgroup at the rescue center! Harry has done well with house manners and has been crate trained, though he wouldn't mind a refresher! He is a star when it comes to basic training, knowing to "sit" like a master! His deep food motivation makes him a lovely dog to do tricks with. Harry is a bit too curious about cats, so a feline-free home would be best for this great young man. His goofy eyes, Jack-Russel-like coloring, mixed with his sweet personality and good manners make him your next companion! Come meet him at one of our events, he would love to say hi!
