Bowser is an intact 5 year old boxer who loves to be around family. He was given to us by a family friend as an adult. He is a sweet dog that would prefer to be an only dog. He does not get along with other male dogs but has enjoyed play time with female dogs at the dog park. He is house broken, eats on command, sits and walks well on a leash. He chases little critters (squirrels/rabbits/etc.) A home with small pets should not let Bowser around them as he likes to hunt rodents. Although Bowser is a senior, he loves going on hikes/walks and the such. He enjoys traveling by car and has traveled 3 states so far! Bowser has a calm personality and is young at heart. He would do really well with someone who is experienced with boxers.

I really like to play with you, or cuddle, or play with the cat, or cuddle, or even play outside alone. I’m about 3 years old and have lots of lab energy! Sometimes that means that I jump up on new people, and sometimes that means I get a little excited on my walks. I like to play tug and to play with a tennis ball. My foster human keeps asking me to give her the ball, and I don’t know why. It’s my ball! But I also have lots of boxer energy that looks like cuddles and silly sleeping poses. I like to sleep in a cozy, fluffy bed, but I also like to sleep on a rug or a couch or your bed, if you let me. My foster human says I have a cute snore, but I don’t know how she can hear me snore when I am snuggled right up against her. I love to play with dogs, though sometimes they don’t like how much energy I have, and the cat I used to live with was not a fan of my playful energy. He was ok if I just cuddled him though. Oh, did I mention I like kids? I am big, around 70 pounds, so I actually prefer the big kids and adults, but I like when the little ones pet me and give me treats, too. I just sometimes accidentally knock them over so I try not to play around them too much. My foster human says I’m doing great in my sit, stay, lay training, though sometimes I’m so excited that I did a good job that I jump up too soon. I also need to work on my leash skills, so some refresher classes would be a fun thing for us to do together. My foster human thinks I’d be a great hiking buddy because I love to play outside and I have great ‘recall’, whatever that means. I am also house trained, and I’m ok if you want me to be in my kennel, too. I like my kennel and it helps me calm down sometimes. Overall my foster human says I’m a great boy and would be a great addition to any family who wants a cuddly, playful teenager.
