Story
LOVES BELLY RUBS AND GIVES KISSES  Est. DOB 10/8/18, Weight ~ 65 lbs I’m Buster, a sweet, happy, eager-to-please, playful Boxer/ Black Mouth Cur mix fella who loves “marathon” belly rubs and snuggling for hours with my human dad on the sofa or the bed. When he sits on the floor with me, I love to lie across his lap and give kisses. I’m very loyal and doting with my human dad, with whom I’ve bonded tremendously, and I follow him everywhere. I’m respectful and trustworthy with children outside the coffee shop and on walks. A bonus is that I have a very soft mouth when I take treats and toys. Speaking of walks, I love them! But, True Confessions – I’m working on my leash manners so I don’t get overly stimulated by cats, squirrels, or certain other dogs. I do enjoy the company of certain other dogs, whether playing or lounging around together, but I'm rather selective.  Moderate exercise not only stimulates me physically but mentally too. I’ve been through obedience training and I “sit,” “down,” and “place” on command (for the most part). The trainer says that I’m a quick learner because of my treat-motivation. I’ve had a rotating cast of dog walkers, and they all applaud how people-friendly I am. With proper introductions, I meet new people and strangers easily – with the exception of people who ring that annoying doorbell. I’ve come a long way from when I was rescued at BARC, Houston’s City shelter. You know, there are advantages to adopting an adult dog like me who’s past the stage of puppy-craziness. I’m crate-trained and know how to use the doggy door. I’m not a digger and I don’t destroy anything that isn’t a toy -- other than a couple of pillows. I’ve been a loving adopted canine brother for many months but now my canine brother's anxiety has gotten worse, to the point where it is hard for us to be together therefore it’s better that I find a new home since he was here first.  So, I’m available for adoption again! If you’re looking for a big, gentle boy who’s a bundle of love, I fit the bill!! And I’m flexible – I can live in an apartment as long as I get adequate exercise or a home with a backyard for chasing the tennis ball.  I’d love to be the star of the show and get all of your love, i.e., not have to share you with another dog in the home, but I’d still like going to Day Care and play dates with my canine friends. Arrange to meet me, and remember, I’ve never met a stranger! Story
Winslow maybe 11 years young but he still has so much life in him. He plays with his foster brother Beemo, both saved from a high kill shelter of Houston. Winslow is a very sweet, calm, extremely loving big baby, who enjoys hanging out in his foster mom's yard, and lay around in the sun. He is also very obedient, housebroken, extremely intelligent, and gorgeous. He doesn't have any guarding tendency and is very submissive. He will do great in a quiet home, with or without another dog. Winslow is about 11 years old, 60 lb, has all his shots, and is neutered, microchipped and kept on heartworm and flea preventative. He is being fostered in Texas, but can travel to many states and even Canada for the right home. To meet this adorable pup, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Chango has found himself needing a new home. His family will miss him, but their living situation is changing. He is a great dog, gets along well with other dogs and loves his people.   Original Bio: Hello everyone allow me to introduce myself. My name is Chango. Lots of changes have been happening in my life lately. I have been wandering the streets looking for food when I was given the greatest opportunity to be fed everyday and even have my own soft, warm bed. I’m still a youngster approximately 1 year old, I’m a little under weight but I love to eat so it won’t take me any time at all to gain some weight. I am heart worm negative and received a clean bill of health. I am well behaved in the kennel. While I am still in the puppy stage I have mastered potty training and I love to run fast. I’m still learning what toys are for-didn’t have too many on the streets. I’m looking for an active home that will play fetch, preferably older kids (just so I don’t knock little ones down) I’m good with other dogs so that would be a plus, I like long walks in the evenings and in exchange I promise to give lots of cuddles and many years of being your best friend. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hello! I'm Boerne (Bernie), I'm a nice, handsome fella looking for my furever people! I love my stuffies, but I'd rather not share them, unless I'm playing tug with my people!  I am learning to "leave it" so you can throw it for me too! I enjoy carrying them around with me wherever I go, but will drop them for a back scratchin', hugs, or to chase my bubbles! I LOVE bubbles!! I can get a lot of exercise just chasing them!  I also love care rides and pup cups.  I don't even mind a bath.  I'm pretty easy to please, honestly.  I'm a handsome distinguished gentlemen at around 6 to 7 years old (that's what the vet thinks but I have the energy of a younger man) My foster mama always brags about my excellent listening skills.  I'm great off leash at my country foster home, but will also do well on a walk with a leash.  I know many commands and will even politely shake your hand. I was in a foster home with other dogs, but I wanted to be the KING of the house.  Therefore, I will do best with a home where I am the MAN....like, the only man, dog, critter.  I will reward you with all of my love and affection for the rest of my life! So, if you are looking someone to be your best buddy....I'm your guy.  Apply for Boerne today...you will not be disappointed! He is truly a great pup!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 30, 2024, 7:57 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Punky is settling in with her foster family and enjoying the other dogs snd the cat. She has been great with the new foster mom but prefers the human child and lights up with Boxer wiggles whenever he walks into the room. This sweet girl ended up in a good samaritan's backyard while their fence was being repaired. She disappeared after they fed her and then somehow showed up again after the fence had been repaired. May have been fate, or just an open gate, but the husband reported having seen her roaming the neighborhood a couple months prior to her finding her way into their yard.  They reached out to HBR and here she is now living the good life. Punky is pint size wtih long legs. She has the sweetest demeanor, but is still shy and learning the ropes in her new foster home. Luckily, she has two senior dogs who have taken her under their wings and are quite fond of her.  The tip of her tongue sometimes sticks out in the cutest way and she has kinda claimed the big dog bed as hers, but happily shares it with the old lady dog in the house. Lol. She seems to be potty trained and has not had one single accident in the house. Her foster family is working on walking on lead as she is still scared, and understandably so as it's rough having been on her own at such a young age. She loves raw hides and toys and often prances around the house with them. Check back for updates as her foster family continues to watch her full personality unfold. So far, the foster mom knows Punky will be a great addition to any family as she is such a sweet and loving pup. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 29, 2024, 6:21 pm

Story
Meet this sweet boy, Georgie (previously Bruno), who was abandoned at a local dog park. One of our volunteers found him with a note attached. He had a family but they could no longer care for him so they left him where they hoped a true dog lover would find him. Fortunately, the plan worked. Georgie is about 10 months old, possibly lab, boxer mix. He is vaccinated and neutered and heartworm negative! He is a sweet boy but like most young pups needs training and exercise. Check out this video by Georgie's foster  https://vimeo.com/934607900/8e64769336?share=copy If you are interested in adopting this adorable boy who is so deserving of a great home fill out our application right away,  www.scoutshonor.org    November 5, 2024, 1:18 am
