Story
Add Frannie to Your Family! This sweetheart came into the shelter with a litter of puppies - can you imagine at her age? How exhausting! But, those days are behind her, and she can't wait to spend the rest of her life in the lap of luxury! Fran doesn't know a stranger. She assumes everyone is her best pal, and she loves to meet new friends. She can be a little picky about her doggie pals but absolutely loved puppies and small dogs while at the shelter. Fran loves soft places and playing with pull toys. She's very curious and listens well, and in spite of her frosty little face, she doesn't act her age at all. She's loving life outside of the shelter, and she would love to find a family who will spoil her rotten. ADOPTION APPLICATION: www.tinyurl.com/IADRAdoptionApp ***IMPORTANT- PLEASE READ*** Our adoption fee is $175. We require an application to be completed prior to setting up a meet-and-greet. We do not offer "on-the-spot" adoptions. We do not adopt on a first-come, first-served basis. We do our best to match dogs with families that will be a good fit to help ensure a successful adoption. We reserve the right to decline any application for any reason. Due to the nature of our adoption process, our fosters are usually only able to consider forever families within a reasonable driving distance of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. A vet reference is required, and a trial period will be completed before finalizing the adoption. Thank you for your understanding.

Dixie is a Boxer/Lab mix, about 6 years old and 70 lbs.  She’s good natured, loves to play and be petted. If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Dixie is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.October 14, 2024, 10:13 pm

Macy is a 6 yr old spayed female Boxer/pitbull mix. She is a little low to the ground but that doesn't stop her from trying to kiss you. She has completed heartworm treatment and is ready for her forever family! She loves people but she has not had as much experience with other dogs. She has not been tested with kids or cats. She is a medium to low energy girl that would love to snuggle with you! Story
Waffles loves people. She wants nothing more than to spend the day hanging out with her family. She is a leader and gets along with dogs who will follow her. She is a medium to low energy dog but does love to chase cats so a home without cats would be ideal. She is a very sweet girl with energy to play but will be your couch potato after a good play session. Story
I’m making this post on behalf of my father, who no longer wants Astro. My father adopted Astro 2-3 years ago, seeking companionship. However, he did not do his research on boxers and their energy levels. He was expecting a very laidback dog, and is not willing to meet Astro’s needs. Instead of catering to Astro (taking him on walks, playing with him, etc), he keeps Astro in his kennel all day every day, and doesn’t let him roam the house anymore. At this point, I don’t even think Astro is “high energy.” I think he’s just stir crazy from being pent up in his kennel all of the time. Also, my father does not know how to potty train him and isn’t attentive enough to let him outside to use the bathroom when he needs to go. As a result, Astro ends up defacating and urinating in his cage often. PLEASE help me find this sweet boy a more suitable and loving home. All of the shelters nearby are full.

Story
Patches came to Happy Fur Ever a little over one year ago. We got a call that an amazing dog was ready to be put to sleep due to not being rehomed and being in an overcrowded facility. We couldn't let that happen, so Patches came home. Patches is the sweetest girl, full of love and excitement. She will 100% make an excellent companion for anyone.
