Please contact Tonya Griffith (TMSGriffith@aol.com) for more information about this pet.Posted on 4/7/23, and the pictures were taken on 4/1/23.  Jacoby was picked up by the Smith County, TX Animal Shelter on 8/15/22.  We picked him up on 12/2/22, he was already neutered, estimated to have been born in 2013, and weighed 68 pounds on 4/1/23. Jacoby is a guard dog.  He would be perfect for a single person that he can protect and give lots of love to.  He does not like my husband or teenage son when they try to come to the fenced area that he is in, but if I bring him out of the fenced area on a leash, he will let my husband hold his leash with no problem.  He is great with the other dogs (both genders), good on a leash, loves to be pet, crate trained, and does not dig under or climb fencing.  We don't know if he is house trained. $25 adoption fee, since donations were made for his vet care, and he was already neutered.October 20, 2024, 10:53 pm

Story
Please contact Tonya Griffith (TMSGriffith@aol.com) for more information about this pet.Posted on 10/13/23, and the pictures were taken on 10/13/23.  Rory and his family of 3 other dogs were first spotted on our trail camera in June 2023 starving and looking for food.  Rory was the first to get trapped in our live trap.  He is a gentle giant that likes to give bear hugs over my arms when he feels a little frisky, and I have his huge sweet face in my hands praising him.  He is extremely sweet and very sensitive to any hand movement, and lowers his head as if he thinks I'm going to hit him.  He lowers his head a lot, and I've been working on getting him to keep his head up.  He did dig under our fence twice at night until we laid hog panel on the ground, and then he climbed over our 4 foot fence to get to one of the females he was found with while she was in heat after we separated her until she was spayed, but he has stayed inside the fence since his neuter.  He does have a hunting instinct to go after night time wildlife, and has wanted to go after a feral cat we have.  He's not very active, and lays around a lot.  He is good on a leash, and sometimes growls at the other male dogs he is with, but he is good with them.  He should not be with other dominant male dogs though.  We don't know if he is house trained, but he is crate trained.  He does not have a micro-chip, and no owner was found.  He was heartworm positive, is on prevention, and received heartworm treatment on 10/26/23 and 10/27/23.  He was estimated to be 4 years old on 8/8/23 weighing 72 pounds, and he was neutered on 9/22/23 weighing 77 pounds. $70 adoption fee.October 20, 2024, 10:53 pm

Please contact Tonya Griffith (TMSGriffith@aol.com) for more information about this pet.Posted on 12/7/23, and the pictures were updated on 9/4/24.  Corey was found in Winona, TX on 11/25/23, at CR 370 (Howell Lake Rd.) and Brooks Lane, with a female Border Collie that lives on 18th Ave. in Tyler, TX.  He was already neutered, but does not have a micro-chip, and no owner has claimed him. Corey was born around May 2022, heartworm negative, extremely sweet, loves people, loves getting pet, is good with other dogs, crate trained, and good on a leash.  He has not tried to dig or climb out of our fencing.  He has a slight underbite, has a stub tail, weighed 42 pounds when he was brought to us, and as of 9/4/24 he weighs 60.6 pounds.  He has tried to come inside our door, so he may be house trained.  We don't know how he is with cats. $25 adoption fee.October 20, 2024, 10:53 pm

Story
Star came to us along with her litter of pups from an old man's house where she got very little attention much less food. He said she was a stray but was not able to care for her properly, thus a litter of unwanted pups! A pizza delivery guy alerted us to her plight and we came to help. She is very enthusiastic and active and loves to run! After she came to the rescue, she lived with Luke a 5 months old pup for a while and they loved to run and play. He has now been adopted. She is a great size- about 45 lbs and could be a great running partner. We think she could also be a great couch potato given some time. Her breed is a little unknown. She is small for a Boxer so we are thinking something smaller might be mixed in- maybe JR Terrier? We hope you will consider adding STAR to your family soon. She now walks on a leash and is learning some basic manners. If you would like to adopt this sweet furbaby, please complete our pre-qualification application at this link: https://bit.ly/2CCVFPV#AdoptDontShop #TBCAnimalRescue

Story
Romeo was dumped at our storage facility, along with his siblings and we were lucky to have found them. He was sick with Parvo when we brought him into the shelter. We nursed him thru, and he has grown into a big, happy boy. However, he does have some trust issues that have to be overcome with new people. He is terrified of meeting new people, so he will need and experienced and patient adopter. He will be a great dog once out of his shell, because we here at the shelter get to see how great he is, because we see it everyday. Playful, loving, he will be a great pet for someone who gives him a chance. Recommend he be in a home with no small children...older kids ok, no cats. He looks like he is mixed with chocolate lab, and his eyes match his coat.

Story
This sweet and goofy girl needs a home. She is a senior dog who has been at the shelter for over two years. She is looked at and considered frequently, but she is ultimately passed on. Molly loves her humans. She has been around children here at the shelter and adores them. She loves all adults. But Molly needs to be the only dog in a home that has no cats. Or farm animals. She does not get along well with other dogs and she does not seem to like cats...she has a high interest in them. But with humans she is, despite her age, still very playful, still very goofy. She will get excited and run zoomies all around you. She loves to play fetch. She can be a bit intense, she brings her A game to every encounter. But with the right family, she would be a great dog. Her best home would be with a fairly active adults or adult. She would like a good walk each day or some play time. She was housebroken when she was brought into the shelter. She likely still is, but we don't keep them indoors, but in indoor outdoor runs. She does use only her outside area, so we think she is likely still housebroken. If not, it would not be hard to bring her back up to speed. Older kids would be okay, but not smaller ones. Molly does play intensely so she may be too much for a child to handle. Most of her play energy diminishes after a few minutes of hard play, but still, she may jump into or run over a small child in her zeal, so we think children 12 and up would be recommended for her. As a senior dog, she does come with an adoption discount. She is spayed, up to date on all vaccines, and microchipped. HW free.
