When I was first found by one of the BSAS officers, I was abandoned, sleeping on and old mattress and taking refuge from the cold in a cardboard box. The nice officer picked me up and I immediately went to the vet. I am currently in my healing era and need someone who is patient and understanding as I learn how to trust again. I`m gentle and patient, I promise to be the best friend you could ever ask for. My past may have been tough, but I`m looking forward to a future filled with love and happiness. I`m ready to find my forever home, a place where I can feel safe and loved. Adopting me will not only change my life, it will change yours too. Hi, I'm Diamond! I was a cast off mama dog. I was abandoned by my owner and left with his parents. They didn't want me either. I was alone and pregnant. I gave birth to my 9 babies under an abandoned trailer. One of my babies died before I could get help and one had fallen into a hole under the trailer and had an injured leg. Some nice people came and rescued me as the people who owned the property were going to kill me and my babies. I was soooo glad to be rescued though I was not very trusting in people at this point. They took me and my puppies to a safe place and we were warm and had plenty of food. My injured baby was taken to a vet and treated. Now my puppies are on their way to new homes and I am going to get fixed! No more pups for me! I am a sweet girl, once I get to know you I can really wiggle my butt and give you kisses. I like other dogs too. I would be a good girl for you and I am getting some training on leash walking and learning commands. Please put in an application for me. I am ready for a new start in life! Already have 3yr old grandson and two dogs of my own that I take care of. After great discussion with my a Son we feel that this is best for him. Kilo is a good dog. He love attention and play. I Dont know how he does with other dogs except mines so I cant say. He is housebroken. He sits for his food, until the command eat is given. He is crate trained. Meet Hennessy! She is a 3 yr old spayed female brindle pitbull mix that weighs 32 lbs. She came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 12/3 as an owner surrender. Reason for surrender was unwanted. Hennessy is a lovely girl that was adopted previously from our shelter. During this time, she did not receive the best care. She is malnourished, skin is dry, some hair loss around her neck and hard calluses on her back hips showing she was living outside on concrete. Despite this she still has a happy go lucky loving personality. She enjoys going on walks, being petted and loved on. When sitting in a chair she will jump in my lap for pets. She remembers the sit/lay command and does take treats somewhat gently. She will be receiving additional feedings that I know will help her feel better. As we walked past the other dogs barking at her, she didn`t pay any attention, but we do ask if you have another dog in the home, please be sure to ask the shelter for a dog test. She would love to have a secured backyard to play in, but most importantly live indoors where she can be close and cuddly with her human companions. Please give this lovely girl the chance at her final loving home she so deserves.

Meet Eva! She is a 2 yr old female spayed terrier pitbull mix that weighs 56lbs, and is so adorable! She came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter as a stray on 5/21. Eva has such a spirit and outgoing personality. She is so excited to be out of her kennel and on her way to play in the kennel yard. She does jump with excitement, but once her energy is out, she loves to lay down on the floor or a fluffy puppy bed and give you a big smile. She is friendly, sweet and very observant. She walks well on a leash, loves treats, and takes them gently. She is a beauty and dreams of finding her own loving family that can provide her a secured backyard to run and play in, but most importantly live indoors and cuddle close to her human companions. She didn’t show any interest in the other dogs that were barking at her, but we do ask if you have another dog in the home to please be sure to ask the shelter for a dog test. Come meet this shining star of a pup as she will charm you just as she has me.
