Story
** Please read to the end to learn how to adopt! Brady is an adorable and affectionate Boxer mix who is eager to find his forever home.  He has turned out to be THE best boy and is loved by everyone that meets him!   He is an intelligent dog who is good with other dogs and is loyal to those around him. Brady has been fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and tested Negative for heartworms!!   He was about 62 pounds when rescued from the streets, and he is still thin.  We believe he is approximately 2 years old, maybe less.  He sometimes still urinates like a puppy and he's so curious about Everything... sneaks up on anything unfamiliar.  It's so cute to watch! Brady is house-trained and he knows 'sit.'  He takes treats very gently from your hand and will give you big kisses in return.  He's playful, but will chill with you on the couch, too ! Brady is good with other dogs and children.  He's an all-around great dog and has many years ahead to fill your life with love and fun!   If you're looking for a sweet and friendly dog, Brady is the one for you!    Please apply to Foster OR Adopt Brady by completing the online application you will find near his photos on our website,  www.BaytownHumaneSociety.org

Story
Rogue was a gift from a parent after my first dog passed away. She is 3 years old. Looking for someone who can give her the time, space and love she deserves. Between work, college, and having to move into an apartment, I’ve just unfortunately don’t have the time and space to give her the attention she deserves right now. She is a sweet girl, loves to cuddle and play, kennel trained, great with other dogs, and knows a lot of basic commands.

Story
Thor is a 6 year old Boxer mix and is a super sweet boy who loves his people. He was in a home with kids and another dog and did very well. The owner returned Thor due to a lack of time, and through no fault of his own, Thor has come back to the shelter. Upon entry, he was a bit fearful, especially of men. The Behavior Team worked with Thor and he has now learned to trust staff and volunteers, men as well as women. In fact, he is now best friends with a male volunteer who he was fearful of at first. Thor gets along well with other dogs and has become quite the social butterfly with both people and dogs. He loves going on walks and playing games with his dog and human friends. When he wags his tail, his entire lower body moves in unison. Thor loves to show off his `Sit` for a treat! He is just a great little guy, loved by everyone!

Story
LOVES BELLY RUBS AND GIVES KISSES  Est. DOB 10/8/18, Weight ~ 65 lbs I’m Buster, a sweet, happy, eager-to-please, playful Boxer/ Black Mouth Cur mix fella who loves “marathon” belly rubs and snuggling for hours with my human dad on the sofa or the bed. When he sits on the floor with me, I love to lie across his lap and give kisses. I’m very loyal and doting with my human dad, with whom I’ve bonded tremendously, and I follow him everywhere. I’m respectful and trustworthy with children outside the coffee shop and on walks. A bonus is that I have a very soft mouth when I take treats and toys. Speaking of walks, I love them! But, True Confessions – I’m working on my leash manners so I don’t get overly stimulated by cats, squirrels, or certain other dogs. I do enjoy the company of certain other dogs, whether playing or lounging around together, but I'm rather selective.  Moderate exercise not only stimulates me physically but mentally too. I’ve been through obedience training and I “sit,” “down,” and “place” on command (for the most part). The trainer says that I’m a quick learner because of my treat-motivation. I’ve had a rotating cast of dog walkers, and they all applaud how people-friendly I am. With proper introductions, I meet new people and strangers easily – with the exception of people who ring that annoying doorbell. I’ve come a long way from when I was rescued at BARC, Houston’s City shelter. You know, there are advantages to adopting an adult dog like me who’s past the stage of puppy-craziness. I’m crate-trained and know how to use the doggy door. I’m not a digger and I don’t destroy anything that isn’t a toy -- other than a couple of pillows. I’ve been a loving adopted canine brother for many months but now my canine brother's anxiety has gotten worse, to the point where it is hard for us to be together therefore it’s better that I find a new home since he was here first.  So, I’m available for adoption again! If you’re looking for a big, gentle boy who’s a bundle of love, I fit the bill!! And I’m flexible – I can live in an apartment as long as I get adequate exercise or a home with a backyard for chasing the tennis ball.  I’d love to be the star of the show and get all of your love, i.e., not have to share you with another dog in the home, but I’d still like going to Day Care and play dates with my canine friends. Arrange to meet me, and remember, I’ve never met a stranger!
