Story
Meet Candy! Candy is quite funny, she takes a few days to warm, but once she does she full of personality. She has a lot of energy for a 9 year old and likes to hide it, but her first day with us she pushed past us after an hour walk to run around the neighborhood at full speed, so be mindful of opening doors. She loves to play fetch and doesn't seem to chew up toys, loves having her beds to lay in. Doesn't seem to care about furniture (being on it) or sleeping with us. We haven't used the kennel yet she seems to be ok being alone for short periods of time. Her only big quirk we have found is that she refuses to go per/poop in the yard unless desperate, she prefers to hold it until she goes on her evening walks. To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn't obligate you, but it is the first step. We don't get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

Story
Meet Payton! Payton is a sweet 4 year old mixed breed gal who loves people! She has a happy disposition, smiling and wagging her tail most of the day! Payton plays well with her foster sister and gets along with children of all ages. A slow introduction to new dogs would give her comfort. We have never seen her around cats so are unsure of her response.Payton wants to be with her people as much as possible. She will follow you from room to room, happy to lay nearby if you are working. She loves snuggling and giving kisses.Payton is potty trained and uses the dog door like a champ! She willingly goes into her crate when you leave home and at night. She has learned sit and come but is still working on down and wait. She doesn't seem to have much leash experience but is working on it!Sweet Payton is going to make someone the nose wonderful companion! To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn't obligate you, but it is the first step. Story
Meet Evander! Evander is a very sweet and loving 2 year old, 50 pound boy who seems to have had a difficult past. He is quite fearful in new situations, but with patience and reassurance he is showing that his personality is playful, curious, and downright goofy! While he can be slow to warm up to other dogs and people, when he plays he looks like an oversized puppy. He's all paws and booty! With a medium sized playmate, he will follow them around and do "bunny hops!"Evander wants to be as close to his person as possible, and if allowed will welcome himself into your lap, behind you, or on top of you. He is happy to go into his kennel, though, especially if you are in sight and sleeps there calmly through the night.Evander is working on gaining confidence on a leash in new spaces, and is quite anxious and often wants to run and hide. He needs patient reassurance and guidance with lots of positive reinforcement, but is learning and growing each day! He does great riding in the car!Unfortunately, Evander is very unsure of men and new people in general. He is slowly getting more exposure in his foster environment but it takes time for him to trust. He typically growls/barks and tries to run and hide.Evander has done well with slow introductions to other dogs, and has grown to love the female pitbull in his foster home, but the small dog in the home thinks he is a little bit "much" since he uses his paws to play and they are quite big. He has not been observed up close to cats or children, but is very curious and will get very close to anything new, so this may be overwhelming to small creatures of all kinds, but with the right guidance he could be successful with anything.Evander would do great with a patient human who can give him lots of love and attention, and help him gain confidence and good, healthy outlets for his energy with clear guidance and routine! To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn't obligate you, but it is the first step. We don't get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

Story
Meet Danielle! Danielle is a happy 1 year old freckled girl with a personality as big as her smile. She is full of love, energy, and is a perfect example of a boxer. Danielle was unfortunately hit by a car and has some survivor wounds to show it. But don't let her missing toes and healed legs deter you - she is absolutely springing with life and doesn't let them slow her down!If you're looking for a loving napping companion, or buddy to join you on your walks, Danielle is your girl. While she does have some excited reactivity to other dogs on walks - she is food motivated and will be a perfect jogging companion with a little more time. She's really come a long way!Overall, Danielle is a pretty quiet girl during the day, but she is still working on relaxing in her crate. With a little patience and motivation - she will be calling her crate her den in no time. And how could we forget - if you just want to have a sleeping buddy in the bed, she will fall right into your arms. This girl sleeps like a rock! Our sweet girl currently lives with two other dogs and has been doing very well - but her interactions with cats and kiddos are unknown. Danielle would be a perfect girl for anyone interested in meeting her. We just know it!To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn't obligate you, but it is the first step. We don't get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

Story
I acquired Freyja as a puppy from a friend. She is 7 years old. She has some form of skin allergy that causes her to itch constantly. Unable to afford proper vetting which is part of the reason for rehoming. She is a high energy dog and needs large open spaces to exert this energy which we also do not have currently. She is friendly towards people, but needs proper training to not jump up on people or jump towards their face. Doesn't get along well with other dogs or cats (tries to exert dominance when around other animals). She is house trained and uses restroom outside. She does know sit, lay down, and shake commands and is very intelligent.
