Dixie is a Boxer/Lab mix, about 6 years old and 70 lbs.  She’s good natured, loves to play and be petted. If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Waffles loves people. She wants nothing more than to spend the day hanging out with her family. She is a leader and gets along with dogs who will follow her. She is a medium to low energy dog but does love to chase cats so a home without cats would be ideal. She is a very sweet girl with energy to play but will be your couch potato after a good play session. If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Story
I got Rudy a little over 10 years ago from an animal shelter, he was 8 weeks old. Rudy is a very affectionate dog who loves people and other dogs. Rudy is not an alpha dog and is not aggressive at all. Rudy is 10 but he acts more like 3. He has energy and gets excited but calms down and lives to take naps. I have moved in with my parents and they do not have a fenced yard for Rudy. Please give Rudy a second home, he will give you lots of love. He has no health issues and is up to date on all shots. He also has heartworm medicine for 10 more months, a new dog bed, and a new hard bottom dog bed for the back seat of a car/ SUV.

Story
Clara was impounded as a stray. She takes a little bit to warm up to strangers but will melt in your lap after she gets to know you. She is full grown at this point and is healthy. Walks decently well on a leash. No known medical issues.NOTE: The shelter's budget does NOT cover vet exams for these animals. We recommend that each adopted animal get a complete Veterinary exam (including fecal), within about a week of adoption. August 25, 2024, 12:11 am

Story
Wacha is a 5 year old pittie mix, weighing in at about 50 lbs. She’s spayed, house broken and potty trained; extremely playful, affectionate and cuddly!  Wacha is an active, athletic girl that will be best paired with a family who provides the physical activity she so enjoys!  Maybe introduce her to “dog sports” like agility, nose-work, or just a running partner. Wacha doesn’t appreciate cats, and can be “dog selective”. A home with small children wouldn’t be good because of their unpredictability, but she loves older children and adults. Story
Zeus was adopted by a roomate and I in Houston back in 2019, came from a home with his brothers and sisters. I moved back to the DFW area in 2021 and have had him since. He’s honestly the perfect dog besides his propensity to jump up on you and ruin your clean clothes 😂. Listens to basic commands and loves a good back rub. Only barks when someone knocks, never at other dogs even when barked at. Very spry to be almost 9 years old and has really shown no signs of slowing down. I hate to let him go because of my health issues but that is unfortunately what it’s come to.
