COURTESY POST: Meet Rocky. He is a sweet boy who has been with his current caretakers for a long time. Rocky is a social butterfly and loves the company of cats, kids, and other dogs. He is currently in boarding and desperately needs a foster home or an adopter. Rocky is fully vetted and ready to go to his new home. Please consider giving Rocky a loving home. Rocky is about 4 years old and weighs 65 pounds. Please note that we don't recommend Rocky to families with children under 5. We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.

Story
Diamond is a sweet, silly affectionate pup who is absolutely full of energy. Diamond is 3 1/2 years old and weighs about 50 lbs. She is a boxer mix with short straight red fur. I adopted Diamond in June from the SPCA after she spent the first 3 years of her life in the shelter. Due to how she spent the first part of her life, Diamond does have some anxieties and reactive behaviors. She does best with other dogs her size or bigger when we go to the dog park. Due to her excitability, she can be overwhelming for smaller dogs and sometimes gets a bit too rough with them. Diamond is not great with cats at all. Diamond loves people and children, but because of her size and strength, older children (over age 6 or 7) would probably be best. While she is high-energy, Diamond loves to snuggle and definitely thinks she is a lap dog. Diamond would do best in a home with a yard. She loves being outdoors and would stay out there all day if allowed. Iâ&#194&#128&#194&#153m having to rehome her due to my living and working situation and not being able to give her the amount of training and space she really needs to thrive. She needs someone who can train her well and who can address her reactive behaviors. Diamond really is a sweet dog who is great to snuggle up with. She just needs and deserves more than I can give her at this current time. Diamond is up to date on all shots through May 2025. She has been microchipped, spayed and is mostly house-trained (accidents still sometimes happen). This lovable, active pup is deserving of the perfect furever home. Could it be with you? Apply to adopt Diamond today!! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Diamond, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org. Story
Re-introducing Benny! Benny is now 8 months old. He is a boxer mix and will be fully vetted including Neuter this week. He’s been in foster care for quite some time now and has really grown up. We can’t understand why he’s not getting adoption attention. He is just too sweet not to get a furever home. Benny has grown into an easy laid-back older puppy. He gets along with all of the dogs and the cat. He tends to be quiet and non-confrontational. He likes to dig and we’ve got some pretty good holes. He prefers to be indoors and will lay around and play couch potato. He sleeps in a crate overnight. He doesn’t like the to be leashed but walks okay once he gets going. He just needs some more practice and he will be perfect. He still lives to play with his toys and still loves to snuggle. To meet Benny, please fill out an application! Application available at https://www.pawsofloverescue.com/adoption-application . Adoption donation of $350 includes spay/neuter, microchip, deworming, dhpp vaccinations, rabies shot, bordetella nose spray and any other necessary procedures prior to adoption. Dallas/Ft. Story
Meet Blue! He is about 7.5 years old and is a great dog. We think is is likely a mix of boxer and German Shepard. He is very unique in that he has one blue eye and one brown eye. He is very loving. He is athletic and loves to play with balls and toys but is also perfectly fine being lazy and cuddling! He is great on a leash for walking or on a run. Our family circumstances have changed and we are looking for a loving home for Blue. His sister, Lady, is adoptable as well. She is the yellow lab in the picture above. If you are looking to adopt a pair, they are great together. They are able to be adopted separately as well. FREE TO A GOOD HOME!

Story
Hi, I'm Diamond! I was a cast off mama dog. I was abandoned by my owner and left with his parents. They didn't want me either. I was alone and pregnant. I gave birth to my 9 babies under an abandoned trailer. One of my babies died before I could get help and one had fallen into a hole under the trailer and had an injured leg. Some nice people came and rescued me as the people who owned the property were going to kill me and my babies. I was soooo glad to be rescued though I was not very trusting in people at this point. They took me and my puppies to a safe place and we were warm and had plenty of food. My injured baby was taken to a vet and treated. Now my puppies are on their way to new homes and I am going to get fixed! No more pups for me! I am a sweet girl, once I get to know you I can really wiggle my butt and give you kisses. I like other dogs too. I would be a good girl for you and I am getting some training on leash walking and learning commands. Please put in an application for me. I am ready for a new start in life! PS--I got my name because I have a white diamond shape on the back of my neck and because I'm precious as Diamonds!

Story
Adonis and Titan are being fostered in Ohio. They are great with people, but probably best with older children due to their size. They are not good with small dogs or cats. Adonis and Titan are bonded, happy, enthusiastic, athletic, and affectionate 60-pound boxer/bulldog mixes who find joy in being around each other and people – ANY people! They were found starving, weak, and wandering in rural Kentucky, when they took shelter from a rainstorm in the home of a kind woman who opened her door. Adonis is suspected to be around 9-10 years old, blind, and the father of Titan. Titan, closer to 3 years old, was helping his dad survive as best he could and stayed loyally by his side. They found themselves at a county shelter where they quickly became staff favorites and were doted on by staff and volunteers alike. But the shelter was crowded and despite their best efforts, nobody came for the dynamic duo, so BDRA stepped up. Nobody is sure where this bonded father/son pair came from, and it’s hard to guess their story. They seem to be familiar with both the bad and good life. Both have mouths full of broken teeth. In fact, a few teeth just fell out of their mouths in their first days at their foster home. Their doctor thinks they broke their teeth chewing on chains or a metal cage, desperately trying to escape. They have matching scars on their legs where bones protrude, as if they were stuck laying in one position for long periods of time. They are also hand-shy around their heads. They were neglected, abandoned, and mistreated in the past. But they were also beloved house dogs once. They were already house trained, crate trained, and leash trained when they were picked up as strays. They take treats gently and think they are lap dogs. Adonis does a perfect “sit” (Titan is working on it) and Titan has a 100% return rate when playing fetch. They both come when called. They are both quick learners and food motivated. They love EVERY human they meet — and they want to meet every human they see! (People can be intimidated by their looks; they are big, athletic, and strong.) They absolutely LOVE kids, but forget how big they are, so small ones are not recommended. Adonis and Titan are sweet, loving, cuddly, and funny boys. They are big squishy babies who love to cuddle. They absolutely live for “Netflix and cuddle” time. They love to snuggle up on the couch with humans for a movie or TV marathon. Their foster parents always squish their faces because it's impossible not to. They soak up every bit of attention they can get. They live for cuddles, pets, attention, and treats. Adonis gets around very well despite his vision impairment. He occasionally runs into things and often stares at things that aren’t there, but he can go up and down stairs very well and navigates the house. He occasionally runs into things or isn’t sure where the steps start, but he can always find a treat, a cozy bed, or a person. (Or he’ll play Marco Polo and bark to get a response to find the person!) His sense of hearing and smell are perfect. Adonis has decided he is an inside dog and thinks the good life is in the house. Titan LOVES toys and playing fetch. He resource guards his toys because he’s convinced Adonis wants his toys (he usually doesn’t) and will pick a fight, so he has to be supervised with toys. He is very loving and listens to correction very well. He seems to have a strong prey drive, so no cats, bunnies, birds, or other small animals! They have a medium amount of energy. They can be couch potatoes, but they also like to run around and play in the backyard and take walks. But if it’s raining or extra cold, they don’t want anything to do with being outside any longer than necessary, and they are perfectly content to just be lazy all day. Titan has more energy than Adonis, being a younger guy, and will make up his own games in the back yard with his favorite green ball. Adonis prefers to sit on the deck or be inside — wherever the humans are! They love each other very much and get very worried when they are separated. They often sleep in the same (very large) dog bed together. They are very bonded. They have some resource guarding from having to survive on their own, so they must be fed separately and supervised with toys. But they have gotten much better as they have learned resources are unlimited. They are NOT good with cats or small dogs. Since they are SO enthusiastic about showing people their love, they are probably best for bigger kids. (They will knock the little ones down because they have no idea how big they are.) Adonis and Titan have seen hard times, but they don’t hold any grudges. These two are ready to find someone with bully-breed experience who appreciates the bully personality and quirks, and is ready to welcome the sometimes slobbery, but always enthusiastic zest for life that these two are offering! BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Bear is a super special pup. He is very shy and will likely always have a timid personality due to his early life and lack of proper socialization. He needs an owner with lots of patience that is just looking to help a dog with fear issues with new people. He does get attached to his special people as he is with his foster mom, but it can take some time to get there. He's a home body, loves to just play in his own securely fenced yard and he LOVES all other dogs. He would be a great companion for another dog and someone that lives a calm life. He would be too fearful of young children, but could befriend a teenager with a sweet nature. If Bear might find a special place in your compassionate heart, he'd love to join a family and put down some real roots. Email placement@duckteam6.org if you would consider giving Bear a chance.October 28, 2024, 3:31 pm

Hi! My name is Jasmine! I'm a smart young lady who really enjoys spending time with her people. My ideal home would be one where I can spend a lot of time keeping my humans company where we can hang out or maybe take the occasional trip! I like some dogs but not all of them, so I would be happy in a home as an only dog. I have very polite house manners, I am crate-trained and house-trained. I like to look at things on the counter, but I won't touch them. Also, I like to do silly things like carrying my food bowl around. I am super smart and really like to learn new skills, especially tricks to make my people laugh out loud! I am active and need a good romp to get my sillies out. but I also am very good at relaxing and snuggling. I had hip surgery on April 19th, but I am doing great with my rehab and expected to make a full recovery! I'm a strong girl and I am still building up my leg muscles, but I will still occasionally bunny hop on my back leg. It doesn't hurt me, it's just a habit I developed before Duck Team 6 saved me. I am a sweet girl and I would love to find my "fur"ever home! October 28, 2024, 3:31 pm

Story
Cheerful, affectionate, intelligent, inquisitive, and spirited! Berniece is a young girl seeking a new foster family and eventually a forever home. In January 2024, during the bitterly cold days that made every breath painful, Berniece was found. Her survival was uncertain, but she persevered! Thankfully, a caring foster parent welcomed her, providing warmth, nourishment, and stability. Prior to joining her foster mom, Berniece seemed to have limited social exposure. She was apprehensive around other dogs, especially with her foster mom's three Great Pyrenees dogs. The eldest female, the alpha, was not receptive to a new young female in her domain. For the past three weeks, Berniece has been attending obedience camp, mastering good behavior commands, enhancing her social skills with other dogs, and improving her leash-walking abilities. She is now in search of a new foster home where she can apply her newfound skills and continue her journey towards becoming the best version of herself. Ideally, she would thrive as the only dog in the household, but if there's another dog, a calm and relaxed companion would be suitable. Duck Team 6 will continue to offer obedience training and support during this transition. Berniece is destined to become a devoted and wonderful companion for a fortunate family. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Berniece, please reach out to Duck Team Placement at placement@duckteam6.org.   October 28, 2024, 3:31 pm
