Story
Meet Payton! Payton is the perfect package. At 5 yrs young she is as flexible as can be. She fits into a pack as perfectly as being an only dog. She is amazing with dogs and kids of all ages and sizes. She is crate trained though trustworthy enough not to need it. Doggie door expert and house trained. She sleeps through the night in crate or by your side. She is happy to sunbathe by herself outside or cuddle indoors next to you. She loves to go for rides with you and handles long road trips as perfectly as short outings. Payton is just a happy girl with an underbite that melts your heart, wiggle butt that makes you laugh and a heart of pure gold.To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. Story
Meet Evander! Evander is a handsome 2 year old, 50-pound hunk who is ready for his forever home! It is unclear exactly what his past was like before being rescued by Saving Hope, but we can imagine it was not great. He was part of a massive rescue effort near the border in Eagle Pass, TX in early 2024 were 100’s of dogs had been abandoned. He was very fearful initially but has realized he’s safe and has blossomed into a spunky, curious, and cuddly boy.Given his rough start to life, he is understandably fearful of new people and places. He is used to running and hiding when afraid, and may express his fear or unease by growling, but it is fear, not aggression. Evander has done well exploring and navigating obstacles at Home Depot and other dog friendly places that aren’t overly crowded. He prefers to approach new people and sniff them before receiving pets. He caught on to potty training very quickly! Though he does not mean to cause trouble, he is still a puppy by nature. He is very curious and when he finds something interesting he might carry it around and take a bite or 2 but is learning “drop” and “leave it”. Evander happily takes a chew toy instead when redirected.Evander is a velcro baby and is happiest with his person close by – snuggles on the couch are his preferred activity after a little play time. He has not shown any resource guarding behaviors to his foster siblings and is just happy to be part of the pack – he has become very close to his pit bull foster sister and loves to roughhouse with her. He has been working hard on learning how to respect other dogs’ space when they are not in a cuddly or playful mood. He knows to wait at his “place” for his meals, and knows his crate is his safe place. He sleeps quietly in it at night and during the day while his human is at work. He is very treat-motivated and learns quickly from watching other dogs, and occasionally shows his stubborn boxer side but with consistency he learns the expected behavior. With a slow introduction to new dogs, he will adjust quickly and thrive!Evander loves to move, and this has helped him gain confidence! He is learning to allow his human to lead on a leash and gets a walk/run most mornings before spending several hours waiting for his foster mom to get home from work. He would LOVE more company during the day while he lazes around. While he is used to having a yard to run around, as long as he gets time to move every day he could adjust to

Story
Olive is a 3 y/o, sweet, low maintenance, great with kids, farm dog. She loves being able to lay outside and have her belly rubbed. She is used to being able to roam on 15 acres so a home with a large yard or acreage would be preferred. We are selling our property and living the 5th wheel life so we will unfortunately not be able to take Olive or her sister Sweetpea. We would like to adopt them out together but they can be split if preferred. Please ask any questions. We will be happy to answer.

Meet Dipsy, an energetic and loving 11-month-old dog looking for her forever home! Dipsy is full of life and excitement—she’s a playful, affectionate companion who loves to be the center of attention. However, she is still learning the ropes and can be a bit destructive if left unattended, so she would thrive in a home where someone can give her the attention and exercise she craves.

Story
She was placed into our adoption program on October 29, 2024. Since before Halloween she has won the hearts of our staff and volunteers. Why has Lizzie waited so long? Probably due to the fact she tested positive for heartworm disease, a treatable condition, but a factor that makes potential adopters quickly look past her. We are here tonight to put a plea out for a very deserving dog and to proudly say Arlington Animal Services will cover the cost of her heartworm treatment to her new family. The only thing her new family will need to worry about is the love and care they will provide Lizzie, we will take over the heartworm treatment. At 96 days, we feel like Lizzie is starting to lose hope. She is becoming more anxious in her kennel, and we know we need to find her a home quickly. Thanks to our amazing staff and volunteers, she is getting lots of love and extra TLC while we make this plea. Like today, she got to go on a nice long walk on the trails outside of the shelter with her best friend, AAS Volunteer Sam. Sam let us know that Lizzie is such a happy girl when she is out. She walks well on a leash, is very easy to control, and did great with other dogs and people walking past. She LOVES treats and is very gentle taking them. Lizzie has also been a star while at off site adoption events and again, is loved by everyone who takes the chance to meet her. As a VIP Adoptable Dog, Lizzie can be adopted for just $10!!! She is already spayed, fully vaccinated and microchipped! As a final reminder, while a heartworm positive dog, Arlington Animal Services is proud to sponsor her treatment.

Story
This three years, eight months old male Pit Bull Terrier mix is black, brown and white (brindle) in color and weighs 58 pounds. Bruce may seem like just your average boy, but spend a little time with him, and you’ll quickly see he’s anything but ordinary! This smart, handsome, and well-behaved pup is sure to steal your heart. He is a big fan of playtime, especially if there’s a ball involved—he’ll keep you laughing and active for hours! Not just fun-loving; Bruce is also well-trained and knows how to sit perfectly on command, proving he’s the perfect mix of playful and polite. Sadly, he is also one of our longest residents, waiting since October 31 for a family to call his own. Due to his length of residency he is also considered a VIP pet. This `doggo` deserves a loving home (like all of our shelter animals) where his special qualities can be appreciated. Are you the one that can provide this amazing boy his `furever` home? Meet Bruce at Dog Adoptions (DA) 14, his ID number is A57193723.
