Story
Kama Over 2 years.. 2 years Kama has been in the rescue... Kama is a beautiful 3 year old timid girl with a sad past we don't know much about apart from she was trapped in Memphis Tennessee on the streets, she may not have had an owner prior to us to be honest..we believe she was born to a stray mom and lived life on the streets until she was trapped around 7-8 months old & ended up in a kill shelter where we pulled her into the rescue last minute. Kama has been in the rescue 2 years now and does let people touch her in brief pets , but very limited and is still a huge work in progress..we're hoping to find a family who would be willing to help show her trust and put into the time she needs, she loves having another big dog around. It helps her feel safe, she will require a home with another dog friendly big dog. She can not be an only dog. You Must have a fenced in yard, no very young kids. She is NOT a beginner dog and will not go to just anyone. She is spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated and on hw prevention. We will continue to work on Bringing her out of her shell while here. We think she is a boxer type mix . She's never been around cats. No kids, due to her timid behavior. She keeps a tidy kennel and I believe she could very well be housebroken quickly .Around 40lbs Located in Cosby Tennessee. Kamas adoption fee is waived to a perfect home. She needs another dog in the home and requies a fenced in secured yard. She's not comfortable with a leash/going outside of her yard/car rides etc ,she will need some major work with this. While kama is very timid, she's never had a mean moment Adoption fee is waived to a perfect home

Story
Ivony is so beautiful and an absolute natural model, I can't believe she's been here so long 😭(since nov 2022) We pulled Ivony from a Memphis kill list where she was set to be euthanized that day. She'd do best as an only pet,or with another ,submissive dog her size 40lb + . This girl absolutel loves her people, loves to cuddle and wants attention all the time. She needs a human who will let her share the bed with them, she's such a sweet girl, shes about 4-5 years old. Ivony would do best with a family who is home often . She is very reactive of things out side, cars driving by, people walking, the neighbors all the way across the street doing whatever in their yard. She does have a barking habit, and can be a talkative girl, but alot of that could be from bordem of sitting in the area she's in, for years now 💔she does have prey drive.. some one PLEASE consider adopting Ivony, or atleast come spend some time with her. She is pretty much house broken . Walks on leash but needs a bit more training not to pull. Ivony is spayed, microchipped, utd on vaccines/deworming and on heartworm prevention Cosby Tennessee Ivony Thought to be boxer mix 40lb Medium sized dog No cats/ no small dogs

Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation.  We have come together to give animals in need the safe and happy life they all deserve.  Almost Home Animal Rescue believes that no animal is expendable.  Adopting a friend:The animals, lucky enough to find refuge with Almost Home, are all in loving foster homes. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography.  What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  *Due to rescuer being very ill, all her dogs are in desperate need!!! Greetings! My name is Poe! My best friend, Fluffy, and I were allowed to wander the streets. Our owner just didn't care. Fluffy was pregnant at the time. Our rescuer begged for her to be able to come into rescue. So, our owner dumped Fluffy and unexpectedly and luckily dumped me too! I am absolutely adorable with the cutest underbite that makes me look like I am forever smiling. We are both about three to four years old and I weigh about thirty-five pounds. We are the friendliest duo and are exceptionally loving! We adore people and other doggies. We do love children but Fluffy can get excitable, so small children may get overwhelmed. We are true buddies. You will always find us hanging out together. We enjoy adventures and would follow you to the ends of the earth. All you have to do is make us yours! Love,Poe & Fluffy *Guest Posting**Discount for two!***Adoption Fee $275 for both If you would like to meet your new best friend, contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org or 865-236-0830. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer. We do reserve the right to change the fees higher or lower due to the circumstance of the animal but what was stated above are the usual adoption fees.  Microchipped pets will have a higher adoption fee.  Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of the vetting and care the animal has received with us and if it ever does, the money just goes back it to helping other animals in need. November 1, 2024, 8:13 pm

I'm a young man that is about 13 months old and that is about 40 to 45lbs. So, this is where you come in. I'm an active boy that would LOVE an active family. Someone that likes going out for a good run would be right up my alley. I would also enjoy having a doggie friend to play with in a good secured fenced in yard. I'm a loving boy that would be all about hanging out with my family or going on activities with them. I love people and other doggies but I haven't been around kitties. So, I don't know about that. I am crate trained too. My current home isn't very active, so I get board and chew things. If I have other things to do, I'd probably be much better about that and some correction of my behavior would go a long way. I get put in the back yard sometimes and it's just a decorative fence, so again, I get board and I leave because I can. Now, I'm being boarded at a vet's office and I'm in a crate most of the time. This is torture! Well, I'm looking for that active family that will love me for the awesome boy that I am. I hope that you are looking for me. She loves the company of other dogs but sadly, cannot be left alone with them because things from her unfortunate past trigger a fight or flight response towards other dogs. She would be very happy to be your one and only furry love. She is absolutely amazing with all people and has great manners, keeping “4 paws on the floor” and sitting patiently for snacks! Because of her mature demeanor, we think Kallie would do best in a home that is mildly active. She loves to roll around and lay out on the couch but also enjoys walks with her favorite people! *Guest Posting**Due to Kallie's 'fight or flight' response towards other dogs, small children are not advised   If you would like to meet your new best friend, contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org or 865-236-0830.
