Story
We are awaiting the results from Twiggy's DNA kit but in the meantime we are calling her a Boxer/Lab mix. WE could be totally wrong but we'll see! Twiggy was abandoned sometime during the night in a small neighborhood. We got a call from the women who's house she showed up at and she told us there was an emaciated little pup who needed rescue. We rushed over to pick her up and she was nothing but skin and bones. (before pics available on request) We brought her back to the shelter and noticed that she was drinking a crazy amount of water and peeing like a 100 pound dog! We brought a urine sample to our vet and discovered that she had a pretty bad UTI so we put her on antibiotics and now she's all cleared up. She has since been spayed and vaccinated. She is crate trained, microchipped and ready to roll! She is positively the sweetest little girl you will ever meet! Wouldn't you love to take her home! PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE $500

Story
Herbie is a lovable 70-pound Boxer mix with a heart full of gold. About a year old, he was found wandering the back roads of Tennessee without a collar or microchip, battling a tough case of mange. While no one has come forward to claim him, Herbie is now looking for his forever family! His skin is healing beautifully, and his sweet, curious nature shines through more each day. ‍&#226&#153&#130&#239&#184&#143 Herbie enjoys his daily walks and is getting better at leash manners. He’s also learning to curb his excitement when greeting people! He’s great with other dogs and, after playtime, is happy to sit quietly by your side. He hasn’t been tested with cats or kids yet, but we think his gentle personality would be a great match for the right home! Critter Cavalry Rescue is a Middle Tennessee-based 501(c)(3) that travels to the Northeast states weekly, helping high-risk homeless animals like Herbie find loving homes. For more info on our mission, adoption fees, and drop-off points, visit us at CritterCavalry.com! &#226&#156&#168 Could your family be the one Herbie's been waiting for? &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Email us at CCRTennessee@gmail.com to request an adoption application.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.November 15, 2024, 12:43 am

Story
"The journey of your life will become the sweetest if traveling with a dog." This makes us think of our precious Uncle Cracker! . Why we love him: He is an absolute sweetheart who truly enjoys our company! Meet everyone's favorite uncle....our very own Uncle Cracker! He is so handsome with his snow white coat and warm brown eyes. We love the speckles on his muzzle and ears, too. Uncle Cracker is four years old and weighs 63 pounds. If you want to adopt a medium sized companion, he could be the one! He is so gentle, friendly and good natured and we love spending time with him. Uncle Cracker is very affectionate and one of our favorite cuddle buddies! He really enjoys being petted and sitting with you to relax and share the day. Lucky Uncle Cracker spent some time in a foster home during the holidays and his family reports: "Uncle Cracker is so sweet, handsome, good-natured, and smart. He sits for treats and learns quickly. Uncle Cracker loves to play with toys. He enjoys chasing balls and will allow you to take them from his mouth when he is in the mood to keep fetching them. Uncle Cracker loves to jump and wiggle when he wants to play. He seemed to get a little calmer every day he was here. He allowed me to dry him off and clean his paws, and he’s a real love bug! Uncle Cracker was calm with a house full of company and friendly to everyone. He came up to the table a couple of times, but didn’t beg for food. I haven’t been around children with him, but I think he’ll be fine. He quickly fell in love with riding on the seat of our 4-wheeler and wasn’t startled when our tractor drove close by. I wouldn’t trust him alone with food on the kitchen counter yet. He seems to understand “no” pretty well, but he’s not quite there yet and still challenges boundaries. He can be a puller, so the underharness helps a lot, and he’s getting much better except when he gets excited or sees another dog, rabbit, deer, etc. He’s good about staying off furniture unless invited, but you have to let him know (he really wants to be a lap dog on the couch). He sleeps in our big dog bed, and since we only have one dog bed these days, it didn’t take him long to squeeze his big self into a cat bed downstairs! I really think he needs a doggy playmate to help him stay occupied." He is a loyal, well-mannered companion on daily walks and adores being close by your side. Uncle Cracker looks forward to daily outings in the fenced yard, where he loves to run and play and has so much fun. He especially enjoys the toys and is so agile and athletic! He is a bright, obedient dog who wants to please and should master any commands you wish to teach him. Come meet Uncle Cracker and you will see why he is so special to us! E-mail ccacangels@yahoo.com for more information! Please come visit! We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Story
Athena is 3 years old, she’ll be 4 on April 22nd. Shes a very sweet and cuddly baby, she does not know what personal space is. Shes been having some health issues lately, low appetite and weight loss. We are working with a vet to figure out whats wrong. She has been raised around cats her entire life; however, recently she has attacked both of her cat siblings out of the blue. The 1st older cat is ok, but we did lose the younger one. I want nothing more than to keep her but I am moving to Colorado in April and the person im moving in with has 2 other cats plus my cat. I am afraid to put them at risk. She really is a very sweet girl and the biggest baby, shes afraid of the ceiling fan. This was completely out of the blue and I dont have the resources to give her the care she needs. I really think she could thrive in a house with no other animals who can give her all of the love and care she needs.

Story
Lisa is gentle as a lamb. She loves hugs and kisses and tries her very best to make you happy. How could you not love a baby with a smile as wide as her sweet face?Lisa was abandoned on the side of the road with her sister Marge. The temperatures were in the high 90's and these girls had neither food nor water! Someone just left them on the side of the road to die. We tried our darndest to ignore their plight but when I drove by a second time and saw how terrified and hungry they were, we had to help. We brought them food and water in buckets and prayed they would be friendly (since I had heard all the stories about pit bulls). I admit they were leery of us too but as soon as they had a few bites they became our best buddies. Lisa was so thin, and something had caused some serious cuts, but she has never even paused in her outpouring of love and gratitude. What a precious girl. Lisa is especially extra gentle and innocent and loves nothing more than sitting beside you, knowing you are near.Lisa loves kisses and belly rubs, running wide open, and treats. She will make a devoted fur baby to a family that does not have cats or chickens. I do not know about other dogs.To apply visit our website at  https://www.russellrescuetn.com/ or email russellrescuetn@gmail.com if already approvedNovember 5, 2024, 12:34 am
