Story
Herbie is a lovable 70-pound Boxer mix with a heart full of gold. About a year old, he was found wandering the back roads of Tennessee without a collar or microchip, battling a tough case of mange. While no one has come forward to claim him, Herbie is now looking for his forever family! His skin is healing beautifully, and his sweet, curious nature shines through more each day. ‍&#226&#153&#130&#239&#184&#143 Herbie enjoys his daily walks and is getting better at leash manners. He’s also learning to curb his excitement when greeting people! He’s great with other dogs and, after playtime, is happy to sit quietly by your side. He hasn’t been tested with cats or kids yet, but we think his gentle personality would be a great match for the right home! Critter Cavalry Rescue is a Middle Tennessee-based 501(c)(3) that travels to the Northeast states weekly, helping high-risk homeless animals like Herbie find loving homes. For more info on our mission, adoption fees, and drop-off points, visit us at CritterCavalry.com! &#226&#156&#168 Could your family be the one Herbie's been waiting for? &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Email us at CCRTennessee@gmail.com to request an adoption application.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.November 15, 2024, 12:43 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Betsy, a true survivor with a heart of gold. This brave girl came to us from an animal control facility where, despite being attacked by another dog, she heroically protected her puppies. Her story touched us deeply, and we were honored to bring her and her babies into our care. When Betsy arrived, she was in rough shape—underweight and clearly unfamiliar with home life. But she has blossomed beautifully. Now kennel trained and learning to interact well with other dogs (with proper introductions), Betsy has come a long way. Please note that she isn’t good with cats, but she’s as sweet as can be with kids. A typical Boxer mix, Betsy loves giving hugs, wrapping her paws around you, and soaking up love. This big love bug is ready to leave her tough past behind and find a forever home where she can be cherished and spoiled like she deserves.   Medical Notes: Spayed Microchipped Vaccinated Heartworm negative Proheart 12 injection Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 7, 2024, 8:24 pm

Story
Jon Katz observed that "Dog love is powerful stuff." This reminds us of our sweet George, who has so much love to give the family lucky enough to take him home! Why we love him: George is a special and loving dog and we adore spending time with him. His furrowed brow make him look especially wise and endearing! George is such a great dog! He is 2 1/2 years old and weighs 48 pounds, so he is a fine choice if you want to adopt a medium sized dog. He is a great on a leash and is a well mannered companion who enjoys daily walks. George truly savors your company! Once he is done, he will sprawl on the grass to hang out and spend quality time with you! George has such fun in the fenced yard, where he enjoys zooming around and playing. He will also lay in the grass and roll around in total joy. It's so wonderful to see! He also has the best time playing with the toys. George has enjoyed play dates with his fellow shelter canines. If you have another dog, we do require a meet and greet to ensure compatibility. George is so friendly and easygoing and is so grateful for attention and affection. He loves everyone, and has a happy doggie smile. He is such a sweetheart! One of our volunteers observes: "The more time you spend with George the more he shows love back. He has the cutest playful side and whimpers with excitement when he knows you. George is also a great hiking or potential running partner, He wants to please and checks in often with those big sweet eyes of his." George has enjoyed outings at local parks and loves to explore the trails. He also likes riding in the car. George truly has a heart full of love he can't wait to share with you! E-mail ccacangels@yahoo.com for more information! Please come visit! We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Story
Lisa is gentle as a lamb. She loves hugs and kisses and tries her very best to make you happy. How could you not love a baby with a smile as wide as her sweet face?Lisa was abandoned on the side of the road with her sister Marge. The temperatures were in the high 90's and these girls had neither food nor water! Someone just left them on the side of the road to die. We tried our darndest to ignore their plight but when I drove by a second time and saw how terrified and hungry they were, we had to help. We brought them food and water in buckets and prayed they would be friendly (since I had heard all the stories about pit bulls). I admit they were leery of us too but as soon as they had a few bites they became our best buddies. Lisa was so thin, and something had caused some serious cuts, but she has never even paused in her outpouring of love and gratitude. What a precious girl. Lisa is especially extra gentle and innocent and loves nothing more than sitting beside you, knowing you are near.Lisa loves kisses and belly rubs, running wide open, and treats. She will make a devoted fur baby to a family that does not have cats or chickens. I do not know about other dogs.To apply visit our website at  https://www.russellrescuetn.com/ or email russellrescuetn@gmail.com if already approvedNovember 5, 2024, 12:34 am
