Story
Hi, my name is Keaton! I came back to Pawmetto Lifeline several years after being adopted as a puppy. My previous owners kept me completely outside, where I never met any humans or dogs, so I am not a huge fan of strangers. But once I get to know you, I am the most loving and affectionate dog! The staff here says I am so sweet and goofy. I would make the perfect companion for someone with a quiet home where I can just be myself. I deserve a home that will make me a part of their family forever. Our adoptions are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY Tuesday through Saturday. Please complete an application online and you will be contacted if you are approved and a good fit for one of our adoptable pets.

Story
Hi, my name is Hooch! My foster found me running around on a busy road and I ended up on his front doorstep. I am a large and loyal guy that really loves my family. I've been having fun with their two female dogs. I'm already crate and potty trained! I'm a little big for a small child but a couple that's adventurous and outdoorsy would be a blast for me. I love to play ball, I just don't bring it back to you! I have the attitude of a puppy so toys and meals and chewies are a must! I am very playful and can entertain myself with almost anything! My playfulness depends on other dogs' playfulness, if they're gentle, I'm gentle, if more energetic, I will match them. A larger dog might be a good idea as a companion, I love to play tug of war too! I am a very good watch dog and will definitely let you know if someone is around. If you're active or have a big yard, we would be a great match! I hope to find my forever family soon!.Hooch is part of our Home to Home Program. Although they are not a Pawmetto Lifeline dog, they have received the same high standards of care. Vaccinations and spay/neuter are included in the $50 adoption fee. Pawmetto Lifeline wants every animal to have a chance to find a loving home. Story
Hi! I am Freeda. I started my life living on a farm. All I had was a crate on the porch with a tarp covering it. I would always share my food with a chicken in the yard. My owner decided he didn't want me anymore and I was rescued by my new foster family.I didn't know how to do much since I had never lived in a house. Now I know how to get on a couch and bed. I'm not scared of being on a leash much anymore...except when I have to go to the Dr., then I don't want to budge! I can always tell how my people are feeling, and when they are down, I stare deep into their eyes so they know how much I love them. I love to snuggle up right beside you on the couch and the bed.Life was great for a year or so with Mom and Dad, but I don't really like other pets in the house, so my living situation became a problem. I really only want to be an only dog. I am used to cats and we are fine together. I haven't been around any children yet.I do have a bad habit of digging. Mom and dad have a fence in their backyard, and I have tried to get out before-they had to reinforce around the bottom to help keep me inside and safe.Do you have room in your heart and home for this sweet girl? Help us to make the rest her life better than her beginning!Freeda is part of our Home to Home Program. Although they are not a Pawmetto Lifeline dog, they have received the same high standards of care. Vaccinations and spay/neuter are included in the adoption fee. Good with kids, Good with dogs, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Location: West Columbia, SC Name: Angel Age: 4 years Breed: Pit/shepherd mix - 57 lbs M/F: F Spayed/Neutered/Shots: UTD on rabies and dhpp, heartworm negative and UTD on prevention, spayed Good with dogs, cats, and/or kids: Good with other dogs of all sizes and children. She isn’t a jumper which works very well for children. She seems to ignore my grown cats but tries to pick up small kittens and carry them around (doesn’t seem to be trying to hurt them) but I keep her separated just to be safe. Can get annoyed with the more energetic dogs. Aggression or medical issues?: flea allergy so have to keep her on prevention during warmer. Nub tail from previous life injuries that will flare up if flea allergies present and get raw again from her licking so again… flea prevention. months - Has been involved with a fight she didn’t want to be in and she tried to hold her own but gave up and simply laid down while I got the other off. She was raised with chiweenies and had 0 clue what to do in that situation. She thinks she is a small dog couch potato (other dog I learned is not good around any other female pit mixes and she was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time). Reason for rehoming?: owner moved and left her behind in a crate House/crate trained?: yes but doesn’t have to be crated as she doesn’t mess with anything in the house. Additional info/story (personality): Very sweet and loves to cuddle and get pets. She is more in her “laid back” era and more focused on pets and attention than playing with the others. When I get home and let her out her crate she greets me and then goes outside to potty and maybe hangs out 5-10 min before she’s back inside ready to hang out on the couch and cuddle. She also is really not bright for lack of better words (training her commands is extremely difficult). Message/comment if interested. Make sure if you message me to include the animal’s name since I have a lot of rescues I am trying to help rehome at the moment. Adoption application & contract required to ensure good home.

Good with kids, Good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs special attention, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
STILL OVER CAPACITY and Esme is officially the main long-timer here. She was here before we were 501c3 official, and our 2nd dog intake ever back in 2021. She was adopted for ~6 months and returned back in March due to what I would say was no fault of her own as it was a very clearly stated potential issue that was warned about before adoption and reiterated after adoption when the situation in the home changed. The adoptees were still extremely upset about returning her, but decided they had to.... I can give more context but not going to type a book on her post. Long story short, it's been almost 3 years now, and she is still looking for her permanent furever home! *special needs - tripaw* Location: Lexington, SC Name: Esme Age: 3.5 years Breed: Lab/pit/mix (DNA Tested) - 60 lbs but overweight and should only be around 50 lbs M/F: F Spayed/Neutered/Shots: spayed; UTD on rabies, dhlpp, & bordetella; heartworm negative and UTD on prevetion Good with dogs, cats, and/or kids: good with all humans and has been around toddlers as well, good with dogs except severely alpha dogs (every incident so far has been with a female pit that came onto her - she defended herself and does it very well). Has been around 100’s of other dogs with no issues including dog parks and doggy daycares, she simply won’t tolerate being bullied or messed with. NOT good with cats (even my most dog friendly cats, she doesn’t try to hurt them, but she doesn’t understand her size and wants to play and is simply too much for them) Aggression or medical issues?: TRIPAW (3 legs - missing rear right leg) and gets daily joint supplements to prevent arthrtitis. Does not affect daily life and most don’t notice she is missing a leg because she acts so “normal”. Only further assistance she needs is getting in/out high vehicles. Also can only swim in circles but does like water. For aggression, she will never start anything, but she will finish it so you must make sure the dogs she are with will not push buttons. House/crate trained?: yes - needs to be crated when left alone Additional info/story (personality): VERY cuddly. Will stay close by without a leash once she learns area and homeowner when you take her outside. Will demand to be let back inside if you leave her out there too long cause she likes to be a lazy couch potato a good chunk of the time. Does snore. Does have a big and funny attitude and is very talkative. Super chewer and will need heavy duty toys. She will not chew on stuff she shouldn’t chew on unless she doesn’t have anything appropriate to chew on. She just loves chewing. Message/comment if interested. Make sure if you message me to include the animal’s name since I have a lot of rescues I am trying to help rehome at the moment. Adoption application & contract required to ensure good home.

Story
Name: Fiona Age: 8 months (DOB: ~9/24/23) Breed: Pit Bull ... mix? may be full pit. Technically 45 lbs bout only looks about 25-30 (she's just built solid) M/F: F Spayed/Neutered/Shots: UTD on rabies, dhpp, heartworm negative, up to date on prevention, and spayed Good with dogs, cats, and/or kids: have been good with all dogs and humans they have met so far; can cat test upon request. Had very well-tempered parents. Aggression or medical issues?: none House/crate trained?: have not attempted crate training but doing well in kennel; working on potty training and doing well as long as I let him out often enough. Additional info/story (personality): All are extremely friendly and quite smart. Does have a lot of energy and does jump when excited which we are working on. Shemostly does it for attention but he realizes at this point he won't get it if jumping so is sitting more quickly now and then gets pets in return. Is a very happy girl and did very well on car rides and on the leash. Message/comment if interested.
