Story
Buddy is a sweet and gentle giant. Although short, he is stout. We estimate he is about five years young and very vibrant and affectionate. He likes walks, but not hikes. He’s more of a couch potato. He is very strong, yet calm and easy to handle. He loves young children. Their attention makes him very happy! He can be dog selective as an unaltered male attacked him and injured his eye. It has completely healed and is not painful. His vision is lost in that eye but he still tracks so vets said he was fine to let heal and move forward. It’s part of his charm. He will cuddle on the couch, ride in the car, lay in your lap and sit well for treats. He will make a great companion. He needs a foster to grant him a safe place away from other dogs that don’t like his submissive nature. He is in SC and transport is available.

Meet Kylo!Adoption Fee: $75Kylo is super sweet, but can take a little time to warm up to a new person. Kylo loves attention, gets attached quickly, loves belly rubs and cuddles. We don't know how he is with other dogs or cats. Kylo was fine with 2 large dogs where he wandered up (he was around them for about 2 days). He is reactive at the boarding facility where he lives, however, that is not the best indicator. For this reason, it's best to find him a home as the only pet. Ever heard of a 'heart dog?' This boy is someone's heart and soul, loyal to the ends of the earth, ride or die. Kylo would be an excellent companion for someone who is looking for a friend for life. Please consider giving this beautiful boy a forever home. He will definitely steal your heart! A completed adoption application and home visit are required for approval to adopt a CARE dog. Out of state adoptions okay. All dogs receive a distemper/parvovirus vaccine(s), kennel cough vaccine, rabies vaccine, dewormer, monthly heartworm prevention, flea & tick prevention and treatment if needed, microchip, and are spayed/neutered through CARE.The most accurate and complete information about available dogs can be found on our official website at www.caretoadopt.org.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.www.caretoadopt.org Adoption saves lives! Lida is a sweet girl looking for her forever home to get her out of the crowded shelter she has landed in. We need a home for her in order to save her. If you would consider adopting her please submit an application - we can do a foster to adopt for a serious adopter to make sure we have a good fit for her and you. She deserves a forever home and family - please consider giving her a chance to be part of yours. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. She is heartworm positive unfortunately but being treated for them before she is adopted. She is good with other dogs but has not been cat tested.

Story
💙 STILL AVAILABLE — 1.5 YEARS LATER! Lip: 75 Pounds of Love, Laughter, and Endless Energy 📍 Location: Lexington, SC 🐾 Name: Lip 🎂 Age: ~1.5 years old (DOB: 9/24/23) 🐶 Breed: Bully Mix ⚖️ Size: ~75 lbs of pure wiggles and zoomies 🚹 Sex: Male ✂️ Spayed/Neutered/Shots: Neutered, microchipped, and up to date on Rabies, DHLPP, and Bordetella 🧪 Health: Heartworm negative and current on both heartworm & flea prevention 🐾 Good with dogs, cats, and/or kids: ✅ Dogs: Excellent with dogs of all sizes 🐱 Cats: Likely fine, but his energy makes it hard to safely test — may chase if overstimulated 👧 Kids: Friendly but may be too much for small children due to his excitement level 🚫 Aggression or medical issues?: None — just the happiest, most excitable boy you’ll ever meet 🛟 Reason for rehoming?: Rescue intake — still searching for his forever home after 1.5 years 🏡 House/crate trained?: ✅ House trained 🏠 Familiar with kennel setups but not formally crate trained Additional info/story (personality): Lip is the definition of a lovable goofball — all heart, all energy, all the time. He’s a social butterfly who adores people and dogs alike, and he truly wants to be your best friend. His biggest challenge? He just doesn’t know how big or bouncy he is! He needs more than daily walks — a fenced yard, frequent dog park visits, or an active owner will be key to keeping this boy happy and healthy. Because he burns energy so fast, he also does best on a high-calorie, high-protein food; otherwise, he’ll start to look too lean even with regular meals. 💬 Note on temperament: Lip is extremely shy around men at first due to past mistreatment before rescue. He won’t willingly approach new men right away — it usually takes a couple of hours of calm interaction before he feels safe enough to engage. Once that trust is earned, though, he bonds deeply and loves just as fiercely as he plays. Lip knows how to be good — he just has ants in his pants and finds “calm” to be the hardest command. He’ll reward your patience with loyalty, laughter, and love every single day. 📩 Message/comment if interested. Please include his name (“Lip”) when messaging — I’m helping several animals find homes right now. 📝 Adoption application & contract required to ensure a safe, loving, and lasting placement.

Story
💖 **Meet Zula – Tiny Body, BIG Personality (and ENERGY 💥)** 💖 Location: Lexington, SC Name: Zula Age: ~4 years Breed: “Micro Bully” (out of standard Pocket American Bully — under 12 inches; should be ~25–30 lbs at a healthy weight) M/F: Female Spayed/Neutered/Shots: Spayed; UTD on rabies, DHPP, & bordetella; microchipped; heartworm negative & UTD on flea & heartworm prevention; dewormed Good with dogs, cats, and/or kids: Loves all humans 💕 Good with dogs but can be a little bossy (may not do well with dominant personalities); **NOT cat-safe** (will chase and bite). Nips at my legs when it's feeding time, due to excitement to tell me to hurry up, but does not break the skin. We are working on this. Reason for rehoming?: Found stray, pulled from Animal Control House/crate trained?: Yes — **must be crated when left alone** (otherwise she will scratch at door frames). House trained as long as there are pee pad options available or she is let out frequently. ✨ **Additional info/story (personality):** Zula is a **people-LOVING little tank** 🥹 She is loyal, affectionate, and wants to be with her humans as much as possible. She does great on a leash, knows basic commands, loves car rides, and is overall a fun, goofy companion. She’s also got that classic bully personality — a little stubborn when distracted, lots of snorts/snoring, and plenty of character 😂 ⚡ **Energy level:** Zula is **NOT a couch potato**. She’s actually **pretty energetic** — especially for a bully! Think: * More energy than your typical American Bully * Loves to move, explore, and be involved * But not quite “working dog / cattle dog” level She’ll do best with someone who wants an **active companion** but not something *over-the-top intense*. — 🧠 **Medical & care info (keeping it real but not scary):** Zula came to us in rough shape (very underweight with multiple medical concerns), but she has made an **amazing recovery** 🙌 • Still gaining weight (just needs time + consistent nutrition to fully fill out) • No ongoing major medical concerns at this time 💡 **Breed-specific care to be aware of:** • Face folds & paw pads need regular cleaning (to prevent irritation/yeast) • Sensitive to heat due to her build ⚠️ * Example: a 15-minute walk in direct sun on a 90° day can be life threatening. They start overheating in temperatures above 75° • Good nostrils (no airway surgery needed), but yes… she snores 😂 — 📖 **Her past (for context):** Zula was very clearly used as a breeder dog (visible from her body), and she came in extremely underweight (BCS of 1). Despite that, she is incredibly loving and trusting of people 🥹 — 💌 Message/comment if interested! **Please include the animal’s name when reaching out** (we have a lot of rescues right now!) Adoption application & contract required to ensure a great home 🐾💛 *In-state applicants prioritized — no transport provided*
