Story
Meet Abbey LIverpool! She is currently 35 pounds, 5 months old, and we think she may be a Boxer/Pittie mix, but with rescue it’s always a guess! This puppy is from a part of the US where puppies are regularly euthanized. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from this rescue, it saves their life AND it also allows us to save the life of another in its place. Watch Abbey's video here: It will just take one look into Sweet Abbey's soulful liquid eyes to see what a delicate charmer this girl is. Abbey's ears will tell you everything you need to know - when she's feeling shy, when she's interested in a treat, and when she's most in need of a cuddle and snuggle (which we live for, lol). Abbey loves soft stuffies and squeaky toys, but will forego all of that for belly rubs or lap time with you. (Don't tell her that she doesn't fit in your lap, because she doesn't endorse that kind of negativity, lol. If any part of her sits, she fits.) Abbey is currently in a loving foster home with her two sisters and loves to play and nap with her siblings. This gorgeous girl is quite mellow and laid-back and we admire her loving and gentle personality (and we know you will too). Abbey is still young so she will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. Her new family will need to continue with potty and crate training and daily exercise. We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy. When old enough, they will be perfect to go on walks and hikes or show off around your neighborhood. You will be guaranteed to get lots of kisses in return from your new best friend! Application link: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/676d739b43fd1cb89a026ac2 Please email jacquelynn@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions. Available for adoption in NV, MT, CO,UT, ID, OR, WA, Canada, and now the East Coast! Our PNW dogs are brought to you in style by a beautiful USDA licensed semi-truck, equipped with air conditioning for comfort, two drivers, and 2 onboard attendants providing 24 hour care. Our East Coast route will travel in a private, air conditioned 3LP-run van transport. Pick up day is unforgettable! You will get to follow along on their journey through a private FB Event page, where you will see photos, have the opportunity to connect with other adopters, and receive updates and constant communication along the way. One of our Adoption Coordinators can help to find the closest transport pick up location to you! The adoption fee is $900 and includes all vetting as recommended by our doctor: DAPP (2 to 4 depending on age and time in the program), Bordetella, Rabies vaccine (if old enough), multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, 2 months of heartworm preventative, extended medical such as dentals, eye surgeries, and orthopedic surgeries prior to adoption when suggested by our partner vets, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar for dogs over 4 months old, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and many priceless years of love and loyal companionship! *WE ARE TOLD THAT WE GO ABOVE AND BEYOND MEDICALLY. This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 6 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Follow our rescue journey through the links below! https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue *Due to the rising cost of fuel and transportation expenses, there will be an additional $74 surcharge for transport. Story
Cooper is easy to love, so playful, fun-loving, adorable and sweet, a friend to all he meets. This dreamy boy is small dog friendly, kid friendly and a perfect office buddy! He goes to his foster mom’s office every day, a veterinarian clinic, and adores meeting everyone there. He’s a total family dog with a heart for the socialites among us, he loves to have friends around and adores all people. We believe that Cooper is a Boxer, American Staffordshire Terrier mix. He is estimated to be around a year old, past the terrors of puppyhood but still young and trainable enough to become your perfect dog! Cooper is very trainable too, already knowing “paw” and “sit.” He’s food motivated, and a gentle treat taker, which will make further training enjoyable and rewarding for both of you. Cooper is a rescue, so his exact age and breed are unknown to us and cannot be guaranteed. Cooper weighs in around 45 pounds and loves to lay across your lap in a snuggle. Meet Cooper here: https://youtu.be/Ly1Vaqe8teI?feature=shared Currently fostered in a loving, multi-dog home, Cooper is accustomed to the house dog lifestyle. He loves to curl up in his soft dog bed and adores toys, especially balls. This handsome guy absolutely loves ball, and could play all day if you’d allow it! He’s such a fun-loving boy, destined to add smiles and laughter to any home lucky enough to have him! His foster mom reports that he doesn’t have indoor accidents and does well in his crate. Cooper is still learning his leash manners, but with a little polishing he’ll be a perfect walking companion in no time. Cooper is fostered with a shih-tzu mix and does well playing with his smaller companions. We believe that Cooper could live with dogs of all sizes! Cooper goes to the vet clinic that his foster mom works in every day. He gets along well with everyone and enjoys the extra attention that strangers bring. He regularly hangs out with children at the clinic, and does well with kids! He loves to play fetch with them and give kisses. He’s also great in the car, and doesn’t mind the commute! He sits up in the backseat and watches the window. We believe that Cooper would do well in a home with other dogs, or as your only child. We believe Cooper would do really well as a family dog. Cooper’s foster mom reports that he’s a zoomie-machine, and would appreciate a home with a fenced yard. Cooper is such a sweetheart, and he’s ready to meet his forever family. We are willing to test Cooper with anything you need us to in order to ensure he’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Rocky is a perfect blend of snugglebug and running buddy, he’s a people-oriented sweetheart with a splash of sunshine that will brighten up your dullest of days. We believe that Rocky is a perfect blend of Boxer and Staffie, but he is a rescue so his exact age and breed cannot be guaranteed. Rocky currently weighs in at 52 pounds, and he likes to hug, so you’ll definitely get a feel for those 52 pounds. Sweet Rocky is estimated to be around 3 years old, past the terrors of puppyhood and settling firmly into his established good dog era. Fall in love with Rocky here: https://youtu.be/qr4yfA_KPN0?feature=shared Rocky loves other dogs, he’s excited to meet them and loves to zoom and play chase with them. He’s currently fostered in a devoted foster home with other dogs, including a small Pomeranian mix. He has a fun and bouncy playstyle that can sometimes be a bit excitable and clumsy in nature, we think he would do best in a home with a confident female canine companion. Rocky is good on leash already, and enjoys tandem walks with doggy friends through his foster mom’s neighborhood. He loves treats, and he’s food motivated, which makes further training enjoyable and rewarding for both of you. He can get excited for treats, he’ll do some little bunny hops and make big baby eyes at you as he gets his hopes up, but he’s exceptionally gentle taking treats from your hand. It’s too cute! Rocky is a total lovebug. He has this adorable habit of resting his chin right in your hand for pets. He seeks affection, and will bring his head to your legs for a few scratches. He gives big kisses too, and as we all know, dog-slobber has anti-aging properties! This boy is an adventure dog too! He’s great in the car, friendly and warm with everyone he meets, and so confident. He would make an amazing hiking companion! He’s so outdoorsy, and doesn’t mind the mud, puddles or rain. He’s a stick dog too, he loves to pick up and play with sticks he finds in the yard- a classic dog trait that’s endearing every time you see it! Rocky’s perfect home has at least one adoring human to rub his belly and feed him treats. Rocky could live with other dogs, but we do not recommend him for a home with kitties. We think Rocky would be happiest in a home with a fenced yard, because he does love to zoom. While we haven’t seen Rocky with kids just yet, we think he would make a great family dog in a home with kids over 10! We are willing to test Rocky with anything you need us to in order to ensure he is the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know. Story
Happy Holly never fails to bring joy wherever she goes. She’s a delicate, delightful little pup wish a snaggley-canine that gives her the cutest lopsided smile, a tongue that can usually be found poking out, and such an irresistible sweetness to her. We estimate Holly’s age to be around 1 year old, just past the terrors of puppyhood but still young and eager to learn. Holly is so petite, weighing in at a delicate 35 pounds. Considering her looks and behaviors, we think she may be a boxer, bulldog mix, but she is a rescue, so these are simply our best guesses. Get to know Holly here: https://youtu.be/XfxPpFElrgw?feature=shared Holly is currently fostered in a loving home with multiple other dogs ranging in size from her “smedium” size to Pomeranian petite. She shares her toys and bed well with other pups, and loves a good place to snuggle up. She’s learning all of the necessary good dog skills, she shares food well, takes treats gently, she knows “sit,” and she’s learning to walk on leash! With a little more polishing, we know this girl will be a perfect walking companion in no time. When you first meet Holly, we will warn you that she may be a little shy- but that’s where other animals come in! Holly gains so much confidence around other animals, and she takes so much joy in her canine and feline friendships. Sweet Holly is dog-friendly, with doggy friends ranging in size from 80 pound beefcakes to 12 pound toy poodle mixes. She likes to give everyone these tiny little kisses, and she visibly lights up when she sees another dog, but doesn’t pull too much on leash to meet them. She is dog-friendly and cat-friendly, a perfect fit for any pet lover. With kitties, Holly will give a few sniffs and then simply sit next to them. It’s the sweetest thing. Her kisses extend to kitties as well, and she’s ever so gentle with them. We think Holly would do best in a home with another pet or two or three- confident dogs of any size, or dog-savvy kitties! Holly is such a sweetheart, and adores humans. She gives the sweetest little kisses and she’s always game for a few pets! The cutest thing about Holly is her little bulldog tongue, that always finds a way to stick out. Her tongue does make her a bit of a messy eater, but it’s simply too cute to frown at. A silicone mat under her food bowl will go a long way to preserve your floors! Considering her initial shyness with us here at the rescue, we know that Holly will need a little bit of “self-care” time before she fully settles into her forever home. She’ll need a forever family dedicated and patient enough to follow our standard decompression protocol. We know she’ll feel much more confident and comfortable in a home with another dog. While we haven’t seen her with kids just yet, we think Holly could be a perfect family dog in a home with respectful and dog-savvy kids. We believe Holly would prefer a house to an apartment, and suburban or rural living to the big city. We are willing to test Holly with anything you need us to in order to ensure he is the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know. Bully breed lovers, this one is for you! Sweet Benny is an adorably block-headed, low-riding best-of-both-worlds Bulldog, Boxer mix! Playful, clever and usually excited, Benny is giving us all bully-breed realness. Of course he is a rescue so his exact breed and age are unknown to us. These are simply our best guesses! We estimate Bennys age to be around a year and a half old, still puppyish in all of the best ways but past the point of puppyhood terrors. Fall in love with Benny here: https://youtu.be/I_FUQpj87pg?feature=shared Benny is a natural-born family dog. He is currently fostered in a home with kids as young as three, and he does well with them. Benny is a people-lover to his core, waggy tailed and bright eyed with every new person he meets. Squeaky toys and treats are Benny’s favorite things. He loves to play with toys and shares well with other dogs and humans. Sweet Benny takes treats really gently, and he loves cheese!! With other dogs, Benny is friendly and fun! He’s an excited greeter, ready to play, and friendly with dogs of all shapes and sizes. Here at the rescue, Benny met 80 pound pittie mixes and a 20 pound terrier mix and did well with everyone. He is small dog friendly. Benny is currently fostered in a multi-dog home and shares toys, treats and affection well. Benny is ready for his forever home, and we believe he would do best with someone familiar with his breed type. We think he would be happier in a house with a yard, rather than an apartment. Benny could live with another dog, a confident female would be best. We do not recommend him for a home with kitties, though. We are willing to test Benny with anything you need us to in order to ensure he is the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know. Story
Tootsie Pop is sweeter than her namesake and twice as cute! We believe Tootsie is a Black Lab, Boxer mix, though she is a rescue so these are simply our best guesses. Tootsie is estimated to be around a year old and weighs in at a slight 49 pounds, the perfect size for lap sitting. Fall in love with Tootsie here: https://youtu.be/gUOPnVcb2aU?feature=shared Tootsie is currently fostered in a loving home with two big pitties and two tiny chihuahuas. She does well with everyone in the house- playful with the pups that wish to play, and respectful and kind toward the grumpier, older pups that wish for peace. Here at the rescue, she did wonderfully with the other dogs she met. Her joyful energy even got a rarely playful long-stay-rescue-dog to play chase with her! In her forever home, we think a goofy male would be the best doggy-sibling match for her. Her foster mom brags that she is crate trained and seems to be fully potty trained- she does not have accidents indoors. She does well in her crate and will go in for a little treat! Tootsie is super smart, she knows “sit” and she’s picking up on leash training quickly. She will need a confident leash walking human to teach her the ropes, she’s new to the whole “well loved dog” thing, but eager and excited to learn. A huge fan of the finer things in life, Tootsie loves toys. Nylabones, stuffies, chews- you name it! She shares her toys well with the other dogs in the home too. While we haven’t seen Tootsie with kids just yet, we think she would be an amazing family dog for a home with kids 10+. She loves going places with her foster family, and has met kids at events and done well with them. From the moment you meet her, Tootsie is such a warm and friendly pup with so much love to give. She is so confident in new places, and always ready for the next adventure- now she’s ready for her forever home. We think Tootsie would do best in a house over an apartment. We believe she would enjoy a more active family that will take her places and spend time with her. We don’t recommend her for a home with kitties. Tootsie is everything you could want in a dog, and she’s ready to be yours! We are willing to test Tootsie with anything you need us to in order to ensure she is the perfect match for you! MEET HANDSOME BENJI! Benji is an almost 4-year-old Boxer-Pit mix in need of a foster or forever home. Benji is very much a couch potato dog in that he loves to lounge on the sofa or sleep on your bed. He's a huge snuggler! He also loves going for car rides! He has done fine around other dogs, but would do well as an only dog, too, because he loves being the center of attention. He's very affectionate, and loves belly rubs. Benji is also an active, strong boy with a prey drive, so he needs a strong owner, and someone who can take him for walks, hikes and other outings. A big, fenced yard would be a plus, but is not a necessity. Overall he's a mellow, easygoing boy, who wants to share his life with you. He weighs about 60 lbs. Please email for an application.

Story
HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM BENJI! Benji is an almost 4-year-old Boxer-Pit mix in need of a forever home. He's currently in a foster home in Oregon. Benji has had a rough go of it in his short life - he was rescued from a crowded California shelter, and later was attacked by another male dog. He is almost healed from his attack though looks a little rough around the edges during the healing process. Benji is very much a couch potato dog in that he loves to lounge on the sofa or sleep on your bed. He has done fine around other dogs, but given his recent trauma we think he may be best as the only dog where he can get all of the deserved love and attention. He's very affectionate, and loves belly rubs. Benji is also an active, strong boy so he needs a strong owner, and someone who can take him for walks, hikes and other outings. A big, fenced yard would be a plus, but is not a necessity. He does have a prey drive for squirrels and bunnies, so probably would do best in a home without cats. Overall he's a mellow, easygoing boy. He weighs about 60 lbs. Please email for an application.

Story
Napoleon describes him, he is very very playful and does want your attention, shares a home with an older cat but being a year old he is too much for him to play, kids play with him but better with older kids or kids that can rough play with him would be a good choice for his character and is a very high jumper, loves to run and jump and jump in general. Still being a pup has lots of training to do and has moved to various home along the way due to work, now my work is taking my away all day and part of the night and I am not able to take care of him the best way he should be, kids have after school activities and someone should be with him all day, he is very calm by himself but with other animals he will get hyper and would want to play, he is still being trained with a harness and leash and stays really close when he has it on, he still like to run up at people but he wants to know them. Easy to to train but is stubborn with wanting to play with cats.

These pups are in Portland, Oregon too!

American Staffordshire Terrier 7 years old Female 60 pounds Kids · 6+ Dogs · Dog selective Cats · No Do you think I have “the look”? You know, so that I might set the canine modeling world on fire! I am also looking into design; my love line of fashion comes pret-a-porter, and I think it will look fabulous on you! Nothing beats a cozy sweater if you ask me. I do need an agent to help me get discovered—is that something that would interest you? You have seen enough episodes of America’s Next Top Model to give me some pointers, right? I’m on the search for only the best home, and it must come equipped with lots of snuggles. I am well on my way to becoming a doggy supermodel—I prefer to be the only dog and if I am going to be around other pups I do need very well managed, very slow intros. I absolutely adore calm children who know how to treat me with respect, but kitty cats best get out of my shot! You can even put a spotlight on my crate training, housebreaking, and obedience skills, and you’ll see that they are flawless. With your help and commitment, I know I can rise to icon status! Then won’t you feel pretty cool having an internationally published pup on the end of your leash? Let’s work to make both our dreams come true! My adoption fee is $180 and includes spay, microchip & registration, 1 month pet health insurance for Oregon residents, reduced-cost training class, free vet exam, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

Pit Bull Terrier 3 years old Male 50 pounds Kids · 10+ Dogs · Dog tolerant Cats · No What My Friends Say About Me: I’m a high-energy pup who loves staying active! Whether it’s running, hiking, or playing fetch, I’m always up for an adventure by your side. I thrive on human connection and would love to be your constant companion. Let’s explore the great outdoors together! My tail wags like crazy when I’m excited, which is pretty much all the time when I’m with you! The Type of Home I’m Looking For: I prefer to be the only dog in the house. I’m not always the best at playing with other pups and I don’t like cats, so a solo spot in your heart would make me happiest! I would be great with children over 10! I’m eager to learn and thrive on positive reinforcement training! I know a few basic commands already and with your guidance and some tasty treats, I can master lots of new tricks and behaviors. ******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Lunesta, 6 years old, spayed female, pit bull mix, 55lbs. Lunesta is in a foster home in Houston, TEXAS and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! Lulu is a sweet, medium energy kind of gal who loves to play. She is in a foster home with a resident pit bull and a shih tzu, and tries engaging them in play. She would love to have a home with a canine companion to play with her. The resident shih tzu will get barky and nippy at Lulu, and she walks away, ignoring him entirely. Lulu doesn't have much body awareness and will body check the other dogs when playing or when treats come out. She pushes and shoves to the front of the line for a treat, to get the toy or to be the first one out the door. She can also be quite clumsy, sometimes running into the doors or walls because she is so focused on looking back at you. Lulu loves to play but also loves to snuggle up and rest with you, or on her own in the crate or on the couch. She is a sweet cuddle bear and enjoys following you around the house ensuring you are never alone nor under attack from an unseen foe. Going to the kitchen? Lulu's coming too. Need to use the restroom? Good idea, she should join you. Headed outside for some vitamin D? Perfect, that is just what she wanted to do also! Not even joking, Lulu really does love the sun and baking as long as you will let her. Lulu is a toy hoarder. She will sneak and steal the toys from her siblings but is not aggressive of them. As a general rule of the foster, all dogs are fed separately to ensure they eat their own meals but not because anyone resource guards their food. We have no history with cats but when walking her and she sees one, she wants to charge at it. She has been around children ages 10 and up without issue, and we have no reason to think she couldn't be around very young kids as she's not super jumpy or energetic. Typically recommend a home with kids over the age of 10 years, or those who can understand and will respect animal behavior cues. Lulu does need to work on her leash manners as she is all over the place and pulls with the typical pittie energy. A harness or Gentle Leader head collar may yield the best results but Lulu's foster has been working patiently with her on this training. Lulu is nearly fully housetrained but will "go" if it has been too long between her potty breaks. She does not have any accidents overnight in her kennel. Lunesta is crate trained and does very well, sleeping and taking her meals in the kennel, as well as being put up when unable to be supervised. She would do best in a home willing to help her reinforce the basic manners she already has, ensuring a good solid connection through training and structure. She would enjoy a moderately active house with some walks and fetch opportunities, lots of snuggles and cuddles, and possibly another doggy sibling or two. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her?
