He will be a medium to large dog as an adult. Rubble, his mom (45 lb) and littermates were found running down access road of a highway when they were 5 weeks old. Everyone in litter and mom died of Distemper (due to owner not giving them shots). Rubble is the sole survivor. He will be special needs throughout his life. He is a very special puppy that has tons of love to give and loves all humans, children, playing with other polite /low energy dogs, playing with toys and visiting with volunteers/staff getting chicken /treats. Did we say he LOVES his humans? When he plays and does his walk abouts you do not see any affects of distemper. He is crate trained, walks on a leash and loves car rides. He will benefit from some continued obediance training and public socialization with new environmental objects. He will play, then will hang out on the couch or your lap. He requires an owned home with a securely fenced yard in a colder climate as the hot TX temperature is not conducive to his health. Meet Rio, a pocket sized boxer mix that is attentive and loyal to people. Rio is a well-behaved dog who walks beautifully on a leash, needing only minimal corrections. He’s people-focused, often checking in with his handler during walks and around other dogs. He would love to go on hiking adventures or walks around the neighborhood. Rio could live in apartment due to his smart size and leash skills. But a home with a yard to roam in would be enjoyable for him too! Rio is gentle and relaxed, accepting touch with ease and even allowing himself to be picked up and carried without fuss. MEET DANDIE! Dandie is a beautiful 8-month-old bully girl who is full of love, inquisitive and playful. She was rescued from high kill shelter. She was emaciated and clearly neglected in the past. Someone left her on a busy intersection and she was very lucky to have NOT been hit by a car. Dandie loves people and pets and is very friendly with everyone she meets. I love to cuddle, hang out and watch TV, and go for walks, hikes, and other adventures. I do well with some dogs (I used to live in a home with a female dog), but prefer people to other dogs so I can get all of the attention. If you're looking for a snuggler, someone to share your bed and hug, I'm it! I truly am a lap dog, and I crave human attention and affection.
