Story
Available for Foster, Foster to Adopt, or Adoption! Hank has been with us for a while. Poor boy has been here since Oct 2021. He loves to play. He loves attention. He loves treats (who doesn't?). Hank is a really sweet boy. He is getting really stressed living the kennel life, though. This boy needs a home, with a yard and a family to call his own. He has not had many inquiries, he does not seem to be a fan-favorite for reasons we don’t understand, and the kennel life is not meant for him - or really any dog for that matter. Hank is a young loving boy who would be able to grow more in a forever home, or even a foster, to keep him free of stress, to allow him to unleash his crazy, puppy-like self. For a young guy, he has great recall and has been open to welcoming female dogs to play with him. MUST be dog experience, not for a first-time dog owner Name: Hank Breed: boxer mix Weight: 60lbs Gender: Male Spayed/Neutered: Yes Age: 5 years old Medical(shots): Up to date Good with dogs: VERY selective, must be ONLY pet Good with cats: No Good with strangers: yes with proper introductions Good with Kids: yes but over 13 as he doesnt like young kids in his face Guarding issues: yes with food with other dogs but good with people House trained: yes Crate trained : yes Destructive: not at all Leash skills: Good! Due to his trachea he must be walked on a harness only! Okay with manipulations: yes Known commands: sit, lay, paw working on stay and leave it Behaviour issues: guards his food from other dogs but will let me take it Medical issues: damaged trachea Other observations: Hank is very people happy and loves to meet dog friends with the proper introductions. Loves to run so needs space and proper excerise. Good off leash once bonded and can have with excellent recall when properly trained. Loves car rides. He is snuggly, loves to be in your lap. Loves his toys and will carry them on walks or when he goes outside. Not for a first time dog owner. Will need someone with patience and time to continue working with him. He has been in a kennel for almost 3 years. So please understand he will need someone willing to help him decompress from the kennel environment. Once he's comfortable with you and knows you, he's really a sweet boy with a big heart. Hence why we call him our goofball! Hank is all about cuddling and playtime! Visit https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info for more info on mandatory supplies. Lulu / Female / Approx. 4 Years / 63 lbs / Boxer Cross / Good with Dogs / Adult Only Home/ Not Tested with Cats / From Tennessee/ Fostered in Pickering Meet Lulu! Lulu came from Tennessee where she was found as a stray. She was found with another dog who was believed to be from the same home. Lulu is wonderfully affectionate and is described as a big, cuddly bear. She has a cute little stubby tail that really does make her look like a little bear! Lulu loves to be outside and shows it by making her people laugh with a zoomie session after a walk. When relaxing, Lulu likes to be close to her person by resting her bum on them. It’s not surprising that Lulu has wonderful human social skills. She is easygoing and calm with people she knows, as well as strangers. As friendly as she can be with adults-small children, and specifically shorter stocky men with beards make Lulu very nervous. An adult only home in a medium to lower traffic area would be ideal. Lulu is sensitive about her personal space and would be best in a home where this is well respected. She would not be suited for an apartment or condo that requires elevator rides. Lulu is social and friendly with other dogs she meets and would be compatible with a calm, well-balanced resident dog. She tends to prefer smaller dogs and has shown some timidness towards larger dogs until she gets to know them. She has not been tested with cats. She is on the lower end of medium energy. Lulu currently enjoys one hour long walk in the afternoon, in addition to 2-3 shorter walks through out the rest of the day. She walks very well and with a loose leash. In addition to walks, all she asks for is lots of attention from her humans. After a nice long walk, Lulu has been left alone for 5-6 hours. She settles quickly and does not show signs of separation anxiety. She is given free reign in the home with no issue. However, she was crated previously and did very well with it. Lulu has previously worked on obedience training and done really well. She knows sit, down, off, up, and recall. In addition to commands, Lulu is muzzle trained. She has been showing some signs of resource guarding and her new family should be prepared to work on this with her. She is intelligent and food-motivated, so she will be a quick learner. She is potty trained but may have some accidents with a transition. She seems to be improving daily and would benefit from continued support. Bonus-Lulu is great in the car and would love to join her new person or family for a pup cup! Prior to coming into care, Lulu tested positive for Ehrlichia. Ehrlichia is a tick borne disease that stays in the bloodstream for many years. A CBC is performed to see if there is an active infection. Lulu's CBC came back indicating that there is no active infection. Ehrlichia positive dogs may develop chronic kidney disease at some point of their life. It is recommended that any dog that has tested positive for Ehrlichia have annual wellness blood work along with a 4dx blood test once a year unless clinical signs arise. If clinical signs of Ehrlichia arise bloodwork should be done sooner. Also note that Lulu should have pre-op blood work including a CBC and platelet count before any surgery or dental extractions. (due to a risk of low platelet count). Lulu’s adoption fee is $850.  Ziggy is an older distiguished gentledog. He loves to be a couch potato. He does love going for a walk. He is always happy to see people and give them his paw. He follows commands and is crate trained. His nickname is "Tiger" because of his coat. He is very loving to people and selective to other dogs. Proper introduction is always a must. He wouldn't be ideal with a house that has small children. He is always eager to please. He is fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He would love to travel anywhere in the US or Canada. ##1545628##
