Story
Introducing Siris! Siris’s name inspiration (pronounced: sigh-ris) -the Egyptian god of the underworld Quite fitting for his "rebirth" into rescue for a second chance! Sirus is a super sweet male that is very much a lean, smaller than his photos look at only 26kg, brindle Boxer body style with possibly American Bulldog sprinkled in, who came to us from an overcrowded shelter. PLEASE READ HIS FULL PROFILE before inquiring to ensure he is the right fit for your family and that you're his pawfect match. Siris is the goodest good boy! We all adore him so much. Goofy and snuggly and so eager to learn and please. Siris loves to work with his foster family and has learned so very quickly, he will thrive in an active family with ongoing training, loves hiking and is a young active boy who also loves to snuggle with his people. Notes from his foster family Your foster dog's energy level: Medium to High Siris needs a few good walk/hikes/sniffing adventures a day He does have a good amount of energy where we've found playing with him in the backyard is really helpful. He loves to run and play tug and it really helps with his energy levels. Multiple walks a day could also help with this. We train Siris each night with various commands as well as throughout the day we work on his recall. While on walks we also spend some time teaching heel, leave it and leash training. Is your foster dog food motivated? Siris is extremely food motivated. If you have treats, he'll do anything you want so we always bring treats on walks. Siris is great meeting new dogs, he's very friendly and listens to other dogs social cues well. Siris came to us very emaciated and as a result, does resource guard food and toys (with other animals only! He has no guarding issues with humans) so he will require a home without other pets living with him to set him up for success. He'd love social backyard visits with friend or family dogs since he does well away from any resources he feels he needs to guard. Siris is wonderful with people, he loves everyone and loves getting attention from humans. He is such a sweet and loving dog. Good with cats? Siris would do best in a home without cats. He's not aggressive towards our cats, he's just overly excited to meet them and doesn't know how to control his excitement around them and of course cats don't understand resource guarding respect around food etc. We are seeing improvement with time, training and routine feedings. We are managing it currently by keeping Siris separated from our pets when any food is being prepared, during feedings and when giving treats. When Siris is spending time with our other dogs, we don't allow any toys in the area although with concentrated training and careful supervision this is also improving as you'll notice in photos in his profile. Housetrained? Yes Crate trained? Yes He loves his crate and it's his safe space, he will often nap there during the day and is happy to sleep there overnight. He also knows the command "crate" well. Does your foster dog show signs of separation anxiety? No Please elaborate on your foster dog's leash skills. Siris does an excellent heel when asked and when treats are available. He responds well to being called back to you. Although he needs more training with pulling, as he does like to pull sometimes when not in a heel position. How does your foster dog react when you touch the ears, tail, paws etc. Please elaborate. He has no problem with being touched or examined anywhere. He doesn't mind his paws touched at all. How would you describe the dog's personality/temperament He is the biggest sweetheart you'll ever meet. He is so sweet and loving and just wants to please, cuddle and spend time with you. He loves to play and can be a goofy boy. Things needing improvement specifics please He needs improvement learning to not pull on walks, managing his excitement as he sometimes mouths (we are working on redirecting him to toys) as well as jumping, and his resource guarding needs work. No medical concerns,he is an extremely healthy dog now that he is being fed high quality food and supplements. Food amount/type: He's eating Bold By Nature raw and eating 6 patties per day. Raw is not mandatory for his adoptive family but we will require his adoptive family to feed a high quality, meat based grain free diet to maintain optimal health for Siris if they choose not to feed raw. Skills/Commands Sit? Yes Stay? Yes Wait? Yes Lay Down? Yes Leave It? Working on it Off? Working on it Down? Yes Come? Yes Any other skills/commands? He also knows "crate" and "paw" and we use "break" as his release word. We are in the middle of teaching "leave it" but he needs work on this. Please describe current routines and preferences that will help the dog settle into their new home: He would likely adjust quickly to any home. What would really help is making sure he gets a good amount of exercise and has plenty of toys and chews such as bully sticks, tendons, knuckle bones etc and appropriate toys as he really likes to chew. As well as he really enjoys spending quality time with his humans. Strengths/areas they have improved on: He's really improved on managing his excitement quite a bit. He is VERY easy to train and has improved on learning "leave it". He has also improved a lot on being able to disconnect from the cats. He's also improved on listening to other dogs cues. He has also improved on his resource guarding. Transportation-any motion sickness or anxiety in vehicles? None. Please describe the perfect adoptive home for your foster dog based on what you have experienced. The perfect adoptive home would be a single pet household with humans that can provide lots of quality time and exercise with this sweet boy and understand the importance of continued training and socialization to reinforce positive behaviours. The perfect home would also really enjoy cuddling with Siris, he's a big cuddler. Anything to add? Siris is truly a golden goose egg of a dog. Any home who takes him in would be adopting a smart, loving, goofy, and snuggly lifelong companion. He's the biggest sweetheart and really deserves a loving home as he has so much love to give. Important Notes: Siris requires a pet free home Siris is a bouncy young goofy boy who is not a suitable fit for younger children or older seniors. Story
Edison is a special pup looking for his forever home! What makes Edison special? For starters, Edison is deaf! Being deaf doesn't slow Edison down though, really it just makes him a bit more oblivious to external stimulus, and helps him sleep in longer. Edison also has separation anxiety- he is a real lover who prefers to be near his people at all all times. When he can't see his people, Edison is frantic and tries to get back to them, whether that means digging in a crate, barking, or frantically running around the house trying to find them. He would prefer a forever home where someone is always home, or if he could go to work with his people! Edison is a very calm, affectionate and gentle boy. He is lower energy and really just cares about snuggling with his people, or near his people. He is good in the car, but wants his head on the drivers lap to keep them company, and tries to climb on people's laps on the couch. When given boundaries, Edison can nap at his persons feet (preferably on a very soft dog bed!) so that they can work in peace. New environments or new people? No problem! Edison just cares that he's around his people. If given a soft dog bed, Edison knows that's a good place to curl up for a nap. Edison loves all people! He is gentle and happy to greet everyone, and will try to climb into their laps if he can help it. He is such a sweet soul, he will slip right into anyone's heart immediately! Edison is very playful with other dogs. He is very friendly and initially passive, but can get playful in a typical boxer fashion by pawing at them and jumping around them. Edison is still intact, his neuter appointment is in January, so he can rub some dogs the wrong way, but his intentions are innocent and playful. Edison has a prey drive for small animals and is not good with cats. Edison came to us very underweight and is very food motivated. He is gentle taking food from hands, and will do anything for food! He is still young and it seems has not had much training or structure before, so he will need some direction in his forever home to not investigate food on counters, or get into things he isn't supposed to on his level. Edison walks well on leash and doesn't pull at all on a flat collar. He is happy to follow his people and go on whatever adventure or direction they would like to go. Aside from his separation anxiety issues, he is truly a sweet little joy that is guaranteed to make anyone who meets him fall in love with him! Due to his separation anxiety, Edison is looking for a forever home in a detached house, as he can be vocal when he can't see his people. He needs someone who is home the majority of the time, can take him to work with him, or has the time to do a proper separation anxiety protocol to help him be comfortable home alone. While he does like other dogs, unfortunately they aren't quite enough comfort for him to be home alone with them. Edison is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and has his neuter and 4DX snap test in January. Please send adoption inquiries to molsonsfosterfriends@gmail.com.

Story
Available for Foster, Foster to Adopt, or Adoption! Hank has been with us for a while. Poor boy has been here since Oct 2021. He loves to play. He loves attention. He loves treats (who doesn't?). Hank is a really sweet boy. He is getting really stressed living the kennel life, though. This boy needs a home, with a yard and a family to call his own. He has not had many inquiries, he does not seem to be a fan-favorite for reasons we don’t understand, and the kennel life is not meant for him - or really any dog for that matter. Hank is a young loving boy who would be able to grow more in a forever home, or even a foster, to keep him free of stress, to allow him to unleash his crazy, puppy-like self. For a young guy, he has great recall and has been open to welcoming female dogs to play with him. MUST be dog experience, not for a first-time dog owner Name: Hank Breed: boxer mix Weight: 60lbs Gender: Male Spayed/Neutered: Yes Age: 5 years old Medical(shots): Up to date Good with dogs: VERY selective, must be ONLY pet Good with cats: No Good with strangers: yes with proper introductions Good with Kids: yes but over 13 as he doesnt like young kids in his face Guarding issues: yes with food with other dogs but good with people House trained: yes Crate trained : yes Destructive: not at all Leash skills: Good! Due to his trachea he must be walked on a harness only! Okay with manipulations: yes Known commands: sit, lay, paw working on stay and leave it Behaviour issues: guards his food from other dogs but will let me take it Medical issues: damaged trachea Other observations: Hank is very people happy and loves to meet dog friends with the proper introductions. Loves to run so needs space and proper excerise. Good off leash once bonded and can have with excellent recall when properly trained. Loves car rides. He is snuggly, loves to be in your lap. Loves his toys and will carry them on walks or when he goes outside. Not for a first time dog owner. Will need someone with patience and time to continue working with him. He has been in a kennel for almost 3 years. So please understand he will need someone willing to help him decompress from the kennel environment. Once he's comfortable with you and knows you, he's really a sweet boy with a big heart. Hence why we call him our goofball! Hank is all about cuddling and playtime!
